  • AMANDA03/18/2019

I am a huge fan of d&g red cap. It's one of my all time favourite perfumes...

  • MICHAEL02/04/2013

The scent is very clean, extremely nice. Last's for ages. It isn't sweet or bitter. Very calm. It is one of my partner's favourites.

  • REBECCA12/09/2012

If you love it, buy it.. because it's been discontinued. The new Pour Femme 2012 has replaced it, and it smells nothing like the original. It is already a bestseller. The original is so intense that I think it was no longer selling at a rate that D&G could keep it around.

  • SHEILA M PRATT09/30/2012

I absolutely Love, love, love this perfume. I have always enjoyed the scent. The other reason is everytime I wear Dolce Gabanna Red I have always been asked what the scent is and am told how clean and pure the scent is. The scent lastsall day, yet it isn't over powering.

  • LINDA04/06/2012

I love it. Men stop me all the time to ask me what I am wearing.

  • DIANE12/20/2011

I have been wearing this for years and love it : )) I especially like layering the lotion and a spray of the perfume with it .

  • SUZANNE03/16/2010

I discovered this stunning fragrance on Christmas Eve 1993. My cousin was wearing it at our yearly family reunion. I have loved D & G ever since and have never been without a bottle on my dresser. It's high on my long list of favorites. Smelling it instantly transports me back to the joy, wonder and excitement of my happy childhood Christmas memories that were full of happy times, love and laughter of family and friends, and especially the sacredness of the "reason for the season". I am sooo thankful to have been blessed with this gorgeous scent. It is so special to me and has brought me so much happiness. Just talking about it makes me want to grab my bottle and spray generously while I’m in the privacy of my own home where no one else around me would be “offended” because I over-sprayed to my heart’s content so I could enjoy the indescribably beauty. After all, aren’t some of the purposes of fragrances to stir up memories, and give pleasure and a sense of happiness? I know they most certainly fulfill that function for me. I NEVER save my favs for some special event. Nor do I wear them for someone else’s pleasure or approval (even though it IS wonderful to receive compliments from others who inquire about the name of it.) I want to enjoy as many lovely scents as I possibly can before like so many of my other favorite perfumes that I adored disappear from store shelves completely never to be seen again (like Herbessence by Helena Rubinstein; Unforgettable by Revlon; Fire and Ice by Revlon; Woodhue, Tigress and Strawhat by Fabarge; Beloved by Prince Matchabelli; My Sin by Lanvin; Bakir by Germaine Monteil; Venezia by Laura Biagotti; Yohji Yammamoto; Organza Indecence by Givenchy; Carnation by Crabtree and Evelyn; Blue Carnation by Roger Gallet; Frankincense & Myrrh by Jovan; Ici by Coty … the list is ENDLESS … ) Just as bad – HORROR OF HORRORS – years later they “update” them and bring them back with a newly "tweaked" formula that smells NOTHING like the original! Like “Heaven Scent by Helena Rubenstein; Galore by Germaine Monteil; Chantilly by Houbigant; Most of us have ALL been through this tragedy at one time or another and know what a letdown that is!) I can’t stress this enough…USE THOSE FAVORITE PERFUMES YOU HAVE BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE !!! Hoarding is just WRONG! After a while, the smell will begin to change. That’s why I refuse to buy old bottles of the original on eBay for OUTRAGEOUS prices. The scent you long for from years gone by will NOT be the same. It’s too old and will NOT be the same. (I learned the hard – and expensive way!) Blessings to all, Suzanne

  • TRAE03/14/2010

A classic fragrance with a sultry reminder that lingers after you're gone.

  • ME11/21/2009

Love this one. Used to wear light blue, but it gets too sharp on me. This one is a soft, soapy, but spicy floral. Compliments and it last a long time. Wears very well.

  • JUDI W*05/14/2009

I was scent hunting in the store, and the SA, sprayed this on a strip, and I thought I would hurl. It was SO strong, but not good strong, SOAPY. If I want to smell like soap, I wouldn't wash it off in the shower. OMG, sorry to you ladies who like it, but really, it's offensive to my nose. Maybe, the dry down would be nicer, but I couldn't wait that long.

  • WILDFLOWER01/31/2009

I agree with previous poster that this perfume is annoying. When you spray it, it smells pretty good, but there is something slightly annoying there. Then after a couple of hours, I cannot smell it. It seems like a pretty uptight scent, and I do not feel good when I am wearing it. Maybe there is an ingredient in it that gets on my nerves and agitates me. So I can't wear it.

  • BB12/19/2008

I have wore this scent sice the 90s its one of my favorite i can wear this all day and still come home and smell it. Its wonderful !!!

  • SHERIDAN09/07/2008

I regret purchasing a whole bottle of this. I love carnation, and at first whiff/ wrist sample thought it smelled similar to Margaretha Ley (Escada/Signature)....Nope. This dry down on my skin is harsh, bordering on shrill. It smells synthetic, aldyhydes prevail, and I am SO bummed! This smelled amazing on a flight attendant. Again, different chemisty, I guess. I can see how this would be perceived as a "rich" scent (as in wealthy). It has that tone of Must de Cartier, or Ysatis to me.

  • LYNN12/07/2007

I get sooo many compliments when I wear this perfume, although I can't smell it on myself. Its a keeper for me.

  • BARBARA W08/09/2007

I don't hate this one, but it's just so loud, and not in a good way. Gives me a headache. Light Blue is the only D & G scent I can tolerate.

  • NINA02/14/2007

PLEASE TRY THIS NEW DG THE ONE.BEAUTIFUL.MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE IN STATES YET. TRIED IN LONDON.GEORGEUS!!

  • GEL01/31/2007

i like smelling this on other people. but when i tried on my wrist it was kind of overpowering that the scent permeates everything around me including my plate of food. maybe it isn't a bad mix, but you need a bold stomach to wear this. the character: outgoing and sultry, but not very classy.

  • KOUKLA12/28/2006

I have worn this scent since it was first advertised. I feel guilty when I do not wear it. I am always complimented by strangers both male and female. I also wear light blue during the summer. Love them both,

  • MARCIA12/24/2006

I have been using this perfume for years and feel 'naked' if I forget to put it on before leaving the house. I receive compliments on it all the time so I am totally surprised by the negative comments.

  • SUSAN11/24/2006

i tried this perfume at a store. i sprayed it once aiming at my neck and a little got on my shirt and coat. the smell stayed with me too long and it was really bad. i was worried i was offending people with it. way to strong, heavy and icky!

  • CLAUDIA11/24/2006

please don't buy it before u try it. i bought a bottle last year 5 min. after i tried it got nauseas and headache it was so awful igaveit to my mother in law who by the way didn't like it

  • SUE C10/31/2006

You must spray very little of this perfume. Believe me--just a little goes a long way. If you spray too much you will hate the scent. Give it another try you will not be sorry...

  • KAY10/10/2006

This one is horribble even more horrible than I could of imagined. Strong and stinky, anything but soapy on me. My family literally threatened to throw me out of the house with this one! Sample before buying a large bottle.

  • LUSI09/03/2006

On me it smells like soap. The old classic kind of soap. By is a nice fragrance of Doce & gabbana, give it a try !

  • ANGIE08/10/2006

Like a previous poster wrote, D&G smells like soap. I like the smell of soap but do not want that smell to linger on me. I would not buy this one.

  • KATHY08/10/2006

I ordered a mini of this one and it is more than enough! I am disappointed with this one. It is a cross between the 2 worst perfumes, IMO, Casmir and Arpege. Smells anything but ' soapy or buttery' to me. Not as bad as those rancid perfumes, but not what I expected. Like the Light Blue though!

  • JB08/10/2006

I'm a guy & I swear that the liquid bathroom freshener, that drips into the urinals, is an almost exact copy of D&G. No kidding, many people have agreed with me on this. Girls I know have told me that they use the same stuff in the womens rooms too. (I dont know if they use the same freshener everywhere). The scent isnt horrible, but who wants to smell (even slightly) like a urinal freshener? Everytime I smell this on someone I'm instantly reminded of a public restroom :o( Pitty they had to copy this into an air freshener scent, they did the same thing with Dior's Poison (Glade Country Gardens) Such a waste of really good things! What a shame!

  • COLLEEN07/31/2006

The very best (COME TO ME BABY)ever! i never leave home without it. It is hard to find though. But iI found it now! thank you

  • GREEKGIRL07/03/2006

Very sexy scent, always feel a million dollars wearing this, wears very well too, when you wanna seduce.........

  • DOMINIQUE06/12/2006

all i have to say is that men love it (lol)....this bottle was 'stolen' from my grandmother's unused stash...but after this wknd, d&g is a new must have for me =)

  • MS PICKY05/09/2006

coming from a woman who is very picky about the fragrances that i wear this was a must have.

  • KARANN04/26/2006

I read this somewhere below...that this is a *buttery* scent. I guess me and the other reviewer received the same message from this fragrance! Not sure how to explain the buttery thing but it's...smooth, rich, creamy and just luscious! I worked with a lady who wore D&G and it smelled heavenly on her. I tried it a while back and I sprayed too much. It was overpowering. I plan to get the lotion and wear that alone. It's a beautiful fragrance.

  • JULIA04/13/2006

Soap - that's the only note I smell in this juice: Nothing but soap - causing nausea. The other fragrances by D & G are better by far.

  • TAYA03/23/2006

I used to wear this fragrance for a long time. I still find it very pleasing. It is very powdery and soapy, but very well balanced. My new favorite is Sicily.

  • RAJUL01/22/2006

bought this in the 90s when it was introduced. liked it enough to go thru an entire 100 ml bottle but somehow......... never felt like replenishing once done. i guess.... not a favourite of mine.

  • KATHLEEN01/14/2006

This is a beautiful scent, very sexy. I am a flight attendant and someone asks every flight (especially men) what fragrance I am wearing... it is wonderful! I have been wearing it for three years and keep coming back to it!

  • SERINA01/07/2006

Amy here you are again wow you must really not like D@G, I must say this one smells awful i hate it and just gave my 100mL bottle to a friend at work, what is it with their fragrances its weird smelling.

  • AMY12/16/2005

I'm so disppointed with the whole collection. I have the feminine, masculine, dolce gabana for men, sicily, light blue, bought or given as presents and i don't like any one of them. My boyfriend didn't like the mens colognes either. This one smells heavy and nasty like the rest of them. what a waste of money!

  • JANE12/04/2005

I always like the men's version on a guy but the women's version is just awful. Its strong and cloying, a scent that really doesn't want to give up. So not me.

  • CHERY11/17/2005

It smells awful!!! and it's too strong. it gave me headacke and nauseas. honestly, don't waste ur money buying itI recommend it as a present for mother in laws.

  • PARFUMCHASER11/12/2005

Well ladies, with due respect, but this ones smells so synthetic, old and artificial (like Red Door and Ultraviolet among others) that it can't possibly be a turn-on for any man. Light Blue and By are much richer and better fragrances than this one.

  • AMY11/09/2005

On a recent trip to the mall, i received sample and did not really care for it. Too strong and heavy for me. I like sicily and light blue better.

  • KEN10/09/2005

Damn this stuff is good. My girlfriend wears it and it drives me crazy. She put some on a book I'm reading, sort of as a reminder of her I guess, and it's taken me weeks to read it rather than days. I just end up sitting there daydreaming of her instead of flipping pages.

  • ROBIN 10/05/2005

I'm not going to pussyfoot around with my comments; they're just mine, and I'm happy to be disagreed with. I just want to warn potential purchasers who buy fragrances without trying them on first, just based on good reviews, that you may really, really, REALLY not like this one. I strikes me as strong, aggressive, stale and dated. If you're fair-skinned like I am, it may be a very bad combination with your chemistry. Please, try before you buy -- always!!!

  • *MAYA*09/23/2005

Hi Susanna, if you are still reading I just wanted to say that the there might be two reasons why you cannot smell this scent on yourself any longer. First, you are right it might be that the scent mixes so well with your chemistry that you yourself will not be able to differentiate that scent after spraying it on... I have a similar thing happening with Lauren Style, Ruby Lips and Cinema. But there is the other possibility and that is that you might be totally used to it by now - you mentioned that you were on your 5th bottle - that I think would be enough time to get you used to it for sure ;) I'm not sure if you change the fragrances you wear frequently, but trying that might help. As far as the scent is concerned I just simply LOVE IT. I don't wear it myself because there are a few girls at work who do - just wanting to be different - but I love the way this scent will linger on in the hallways and elevators... Whenever I smell it I know that one of them was wearing it and was wondering around LOL

  • SUSANNA08/22/2005

I get at least one compliment EVERY time I wear this. However, I cannot even remotely smell it on myself. Someone said that means it works so well with my chemistry that I am not even aware of it. True? Co-workers open my office door just to sniff. Guess it's good stuff, I'm on my fifth large bottle.

  • FRAGRANCE JUNKIE08/10/2005

I liked the smell of this at the beginning. The basil really smells unique! However, it doesn't take long for this one to get overpoweringly floral on me, to the exclusion of anything else. It also gave me a whopper of a headache. Perhaps it is because it is so strong and long-lasting. Then again, I cannot stand Light Blue; it takes my breathe away and gives me a headache too. Maybe there is something about D & G fragrances that just doesn't work for me?

  • ANGELA JONES06/23/2005

THIS IS MY FAVORITE PERFUME.THIS IS THE ONLY ONE I WEAR.THIS PERFUME LAST ALL DAY.

  • KATHRYN LYNN06/10/2005

I have been wearing this scent since 1992 and people still come up and say, wow!! What kind of perfume are you wearing? I love it!!

  • ROMEO03/12/2005

Whenever it came to buying the best perfumes, I have always been referred the names by someone else. But this is the first fragrance which I came across by myself and instantly fell in love with it. A true romantic perfume besdies Versace Woman.

  • BEBE02/23/2005

days of passion, sweet days to play. enchanting. double trouble. depends on the atmosphere. very nice.

  • MERMISS02/06/2005

I think this is one of the most blatantly sexual scents created. It is intense, deep, almost buttery. I am always reminded of someone like Sophia Loren when I think of this perfume. There is a slight jezebel aspect to it, but not without redemption. This is something to dab on when wearing a corset, pencil skirt, and strappy heels. This perfume says "I AM SEXY."

  • QUEENBASILIKA12/26/2004

I really love it but everybody weares it, look how many comments like angel by tierry mugler...

  • JOANIE12/05/2004

This is one of the nicest fragrances I have ever worn. When I wear this, everyone wants to know what it is and where to buy it!

  • SHARRIE12/05/2004

a beautiful scent in a beautiful world of perfumes. shine on. abreath of loveliness

  • DEE DIEKMAN11/21/2004

I have more people remark on this,The men just love it.you want to smell spiecal then this is good,

  • SUE11/09/2004

The trick to this sent is that you have to use very little. Don't worry it will last even using a small amount. When I bought this scent because of the reviews I didn't like it. I was going to return it. When I read further I discoverd that you have to use it sparingly for the true scent to come out. It is beautiful...like nothing else. I get compliments all day long. A women I work with told me that she has this scent but it smells terrible on her I asked her if she uses a little spray on her neck, wrists etc. and she said she sprays on a lot. Well thats the problem....use sparingly and it will last ..... on you and in the bottle.....

  • JT10/23/2004

All I remember about this one is that when the sales lady sprayed it on a paper strip I took one whif and felt sick! I wouldn't dare try it on my skin if it was that bad just sprayed out of the bottle. I started gasping for fresh air and had to run to smell something I liked to get the smell out of my nose! I never get headaches from perfumes, so this one gave me a stomach ache instead. No exaggeration!

  • KRIS10/06/2004

This is by far the prettiest oriental I have ever worn...EVER!

  • CASSANDRA JOHNSON08/06/2004

This is one of my favorite perfumes. It has lasting staying power and it simply smells wonderful as the day goes on. I get a lot of compliments on this one, and I have no regrets of buying it. Spray it on your pulse point areas and you'll know why you were created to be a woman. This fragrance will always have a place in my heart......................

  • PERFUME LOVER07/24/2004

This fragrance attrack's men, one night i was dancing with this cute guy, the next day i spoke to him on the phone and he told me i can still smell your fragrance. So girl's go for Dolce & Gabanna in the red velvet box.

  • SYLVIE06/17/2004

D&G Femme classique is an outstanding + unique fragrance. Not similar to any other perfume I know!! One day I love this scent, the other day I don't. D&G Femme is strong, exotic and very long-lasting. This voluminous and complex mixture reminds me of sensual oriental perfumes, but it belongs to the floral/aldehydic scents. Some of you mentioned that it smells "soapy". Yes, I agree -it has a soapy (expensive soap!)touch. Anyway, too much of this "complicated fragrance" smells ugly + cheap. Apply max. 4 spritz and it smells delicious feminine, "bittersweet" and warm. I think you need courage to wear D&G Femme. No perfume for beginners... Here the subscription: Top Note: Aldehydes, Mandarin, Green Notes, Bergamot, Lemon (fresh, aldehydic). Middle Note: Lily of the Valley, Rose, Tuberose, Jasmine, Ylang-Ylang, Orchid, Carnation, Orris, Heliotrope (floral). Base Note: Sandal, Cedar, Vanilla, Amber, Musk, Benzoin, Tonka (sweet ambery). Enjoy your scented life... * * * * * *

  • RAN06/03/2004

Delicious, is all I can say about this perfume. Thats exactly how I feel when I wear it. You will attract the men.

  • JOJO06/02/2004

it's sweet, then musky and warm. nice if you like that stuff. good for winter/fall. not really a "young" scent.

  • ALICIA05/23/2004

Just don't use too much. It's a head-turning type of scent, very luscious and sexy smelling.

  • LITTLE OLD LADY05/12/2004

I see that this fragrance is once described for the young by some and a scent for an old lady by others. I am 60 years old but do not feel that I want at this time in my life to stop trying to look good and feel good and smell good. How about some of you who are so wise telling me just what you think is appropriate for "little old ladies"! But then it could be that you don't know. If you have suggestions I'd be delighted to know them.

  • BRON05/11/2004

I like this for night wear in winter..less is definately more though!

  • CANDY04/19/2004

So delicious. Smelt it on a friend and went straight to the shops!!! The men go wild!!!

  • ADRIANNA04/14/2004

    SUCCESS

  • People stop me to ask what fragrance I'm wearing! It's my all time favorite.

  • MARINA03/27/2004

very good everyone is just jeulous

  • NEL02/09/2004

D&G is my third fragrance of dolce &gabbana also have sicily and light blue, they are all wonderfull.way to go D&G.

  • RODRIGO01/29/2004

Ladies, this is an enticing scent that makes me want to smell my girlfriend's neck every time she's wearing it! Very Nice

  • TANYA APPELBAUM01/23/2004

this is my absolute favorite!!! I wear this perfume religiously. Everywhere I go people ask me what it is I'm wearing. whoevever does not like this perfume obvioiously has sinus trouble.

  • MINNIE MOUSE01/11/2004

After reading so many contradictions, I had to try this perfume and was pleasantly surprised to see it really does resemble soap (I like that smell), mind you, a very STRONG soap. It took a very long time for the fragrance to finally calm down, but when it did I liked it. The dry-down is a lovely warm powder spice smell with soap lingering in it. I wish the perfume smelled that good on contact, but then maybe it would be missing that naughty kick the girls have been talking about. Not for wallflowers.

  • SUSIE01/03/2004

I love this scent. I was a little shocked to see that someone posted this fragrance was worn by unattractive and older ladies. My, what a thought! I will continue to wear it even when I am old and unattractive! Enjoy this unusual and sexy scent!

  • MARCI01/01/2004

Very sensual, erotic.Several men have commented on this. The ones that normally do not care for a fragrance.

  • ANDREA12/16/2003

One of my favorites. Men go crazy over this clean, woody, spice fragerance. A definite mood setter....

  • JENSAILS12/06/2003

I agree, I cannot wear any citrus or floral fragrances, they all turn on my chemistry. this scent is wonderful on me and turns heads also. I love it, I will wear it always--but you are right it only takes a little

  • FRANCESCA11/28/2003

i personally like this one for the reason that its unique and also has the sort of dark, suggestive essence in a very original way. however, as far as I observe the women I know whos wearing this one are all either old or very un-attractive ladies. And on them at least this perfume is just unsuitably strong and loud, if not too annoying. Many years ago I tried on myself and realised that is was very head-turning, but discontinued using because it was too spicy and heavy for my own sense. In the end of the day, one thing is clear: this is a scent for the temptress type.

  • ONITACY11/23/2003

This scent is scrumptious. Its so edible....my boyfriend thought so too.

  • LENKA11/22/2003

Hy, everybody lovers of perfume! My six old year daughter says that this scent is like swearing T-shirt. I don´t like it, this fragrance is horrible!!!!!!

  • DELYTH11/19/2003

This fragrance starts off quite ho-hum then developes into stunning...I always get compliments on it. This is my signature fragrance

  • LENKA11/17/2003

Hy, perfume lovers. I think too that this fragrance isn´t good. My six year old daughter says that one is like sweating T-shirt......

  • STAR11/10/2003

this smell like Amarige by givenchy so you did not like the blends in A. but you do in D and G. well for those who did not like, try Amarige. I spoke with the sale girl about this and she said she heres that alot.

  • ERIN11/10/2003

I have been wearing this for 6 years.I florals, and unlike the previous posts, I findnothing synthetic about this-it is just warm.Victoria's Secret has a scent called Amber Romance, I don't know if they are still making it though, for people who really like the amber, such as myself.

  • NO NAME 11/03/2003

God put his hands into this stuff!!

  • DENISE10/21/2003

Too bad for those who cannot pull this fragrace off, or it does not work with their chemistry. This has to be one of the classiest, yet sexy fragrances out there. This is not the fragrance for those who are only into the citrucy-fresh kind like Clinique Happy or Lancome Miracle. This one takes sass to be pulled off.

  • EC10/20/2003

This one has a very strong "soapy" smell. Not bad, but not for me.

  • SHEILA08/29/2003

This scent makes you fall in love with yourself. It's truly a romantic fragrance.

  • AIAT08/01/2003

hi!just wondering that all of you who loves this perfume ,what other perfume would you recommend? please reply ; thanks aiat

  • MYLAAN07/19/2003

...this might very well be it! All the people who have warned to use a very small amount are right: This is very potent and will smell horrible if you put on too much. But with a light touch, it is gorgeous, long lasting and quite intriguing.

  • MAXIM05/30/2003

I found this scent fantastic. I would recommend it to all young women. It certainly leaves good impression. Hard to find any other so good.

  • CROCCANTE05/20/2003

It's MY perfume!!I really love it and I always get complemts for ti ans everybody ask me whta's my perfume! This perfume is ME!

  • HISAKO05/18/2003

My friend used to wear this. It was sweet, strong and sticky. She always put too much or what I din't know but it was THE awful smell. perfume was s

  • SZARADA05/16/2003

... although it may seem so at first sniff. I only tried it in the drugstore but I think that D&G beautifully developes on the skin, one of the girls below said it smells as if a woman just steeped out the shower and that is true. Of course I don't recommend it for the summer, it may be annoying while it's hot. I've decided to buy it when I'm in Amsterdam this year.

  • JOY05/13/2003

I liked it at first, but then changed my mind. It's just okay.........

  • KORI04/16/2003

Vulgar, strong, synthetic, completely artificial, cloying...

  • M04/14/2003

Ordinary perfume-nothing special, I don't know why is has D&G signiture on it. I was hoping to find out something interesting about this perfume, but I was dissapointed.

  • MIKKI 1004/12/2003

    The most horrible, ultra-chemical stuff.

  • AUDREY04/09/2003

this is the best scent ever.. its so orignal and really a sexy kind of perfume that you can wear both dayand night time.there is nothing synthetic about it.

  • KATHY03/18/2003

Love it. Smells very, very good. Had lots of comments on it.

  • SILVY03/02/2003

THIS FRAGRANCE IS EXCRUCIATING. SO CHEAP AND OVERPOWERING

  • MAYA02/13/2003

I think the "dirty girl" scent is precisely its appeal. The badass, highly born, wealthy to boot lady who's decided "to hell with social standing and all its implications,I'm in the mood for trouble!"Somehow this scent conjures up images of Sophia Loren, straddling a Harley wearing ONLY boots,a black leather jacket and this perfume...Hey,I'm straight, but even I would be happy to mess with her!!!

  • DEBRA B02/10/2003

Dolce & Gabbana were supposedly inspired by the strong feminine archetype of Sophia Loren, et al., but I think Ms. Loren far too sophisticated for this rather "dirty girl" scent.

  • STEPHANIE02/04/2003

This is one of the best perfume's that has been made in many years...I had so many compliments from this one!!!!Great Job!!!!!

  • PINKI01/19/2003

DAMN! woman, you be smellin so fine in your d&g, if you use spar-ing-ly! nuff said. cheers

  • ZALE01/08/2003

That is what I compare it with. I'll use it as a room freshener instead. I bought it based on the reviews here...but as you can see I was disappointed. Ordered YSL's NU at the same time, now, that one is a keeper!!

  • AKASHA01/07/2003

I got this perfume for a present and I'm afraid that I wore it just few times..It reminds me of a mature woman who wants to be sexy and sprays on far too much of her fragrance(but she isn't avare of the quantity she used).. Definitely not for me..

  • TONY01/04/2003

I love when I when my wife wears this it is a sexy scent and as sidney described it is mysterious, it's an odd and complex scent but in a good way. It's so much better than that bug spray scent "Tova" which my wife also wears.

  • SINEY12/29/2002

This is my favorite fragrance, I wear it in the evenings or special nights out. It is a bit strong for some but it is really has a sexy oriental floral mysterious smell. This is the only fragrance that I have ever gotten compliments on.

  • JACKIE12/26/2002

This fragrance is a real eye opener. I'm getting commented all the time, for wearing a wonderful frangrance.

  • APHRAEL12/16/2002

Has anyone noticed how This scent can so easily transfer?... One hug,and he'll be caught red handed,so be careful...But that shouldn't stop you from using this fragrance, now that the winter is here, the scent can show its true nature: Warm and getting warmer by the minute, spicy, full bodied, smooth, and so well rounded...Yum!

  • DEBRA12/03/2002

When I first tried this I did not care for it.Then I gave it to a friend and she loved it.So I tried it again. After the intial application ,it mellows out and smells warm and sultry. My husband (who rarely comments on my perfume) said I smelled wonderful.

  • ZOE11/27/2002

Definetely this one is not for little girls, you have to be a real woman to wear this

  • MAYA11/18/2002

...I think it's because the smell evokes the lingering aroma that floats around a woman after she's taken a long bath and is putting the finishing touches on,getting ready to to greet her man...What healthy male wouldn't to want to run his tongue over a woman who smells like that ? The suggestion is unmistakable, and as much as a lot of people would welcome it with their pants down,to others,it's just too much information! The idea, with this particular fragrance,is to go EASY...Use a much lighter hand than you would if you were using an already powerful oriental, like Opium or Shalimar.During the day, even if the air is cold enough to freeze my boobs off,I use only the body cream from head to toe,no dab of the fragrance itself. If I MUST use the fragrance,it's only a trace amount, the tiniest drop at the base of my neck, and that's it. I find this scent interesting:I can feel it warm up with my chemistry! It is a very easy blend to overdo, and if you make that mistake, you kill the magic of the potion:It becomes flat, cloying, and has the same effect as being hit accross the face with an iron paddle. If I use D&G during the summer,I use the powder and I put the drop of parfum down in the low back area. The effect is just right, My sister tried it too,she said it wasn't too much, either. It may be that the fragrance itself is too much for some, but you can experiment: The entire line of products is so nice that you might decide that's all you need!

  • MIA 10/09/2002

lovely ,warm and sweet smelling perfume.........mmmmm......very nice

  • SONIA10/09/2002

HI ,just want to say that dolce & gabbana is the best perfume in the world, whenever i wear it i get this positive feeling about everything going right!

  • LOLA09/18/2002

Don't ask me why I decided to try it again after such a bad first impression, but I did.Only this time,I put on much, much less.I used the shower gel,to start, and then put on a minute, trace amount between my shoulder blades, and nowhere else.I didn't use lotion or powder from the line I put it on bare skin.It was kind of nice, actually, very warm,a bit on the spicy side,and,surprise-surprise, with a definite soapy note in the dry down.I could never pull it of in hot weather, though, but I could see how one might fall in love with it during the winter.

  • COLLEEN09/17/2002

    The very best

  • HOU09/02/2002

it's a very sexy fragrance, very hot....just wow, it's worth trying, but it's not for everybody...I just can't unterstand how can someone post that it smells cheap....o well...a matter of taste...i also can't wear it, it's too strong for me, but just love the smell....hmmm....

  • APHRAEL08/29/2002

You people get me in so much trouble! One more time,I couldn't resist. After reading all those conflicting posts,I HAD to try it. GOOD HEAVENS THIS CONCOCTION MUST BE THE LOVE POTION OF THE GODS!!!! Oh,boy, don't get me started on THAT night,or this post would be eliminated because of "indecent material"...It smells like a jet society, high class lady gone bad, and my husband, who usually flinches when I spend too much on perfume, went out the very next day to buy the entire line of products for me. He put this enormous box in my arms and sighed:"Thank you for being so bad, you're really good at it." Need I say more?

  • REDONE6608/23/2002

I received a small (thank goodness!) bottle from my Mom as a gift. Smells yummy on her, not on me. It reminds me a bit of Oscar, but last 100 times longer. I may try it again in the winter - it is a VERY warm fragrance.

  • MADELINE08/16/2002

It reminds me of the smell in Nepal...not a good one. I believe it's the hippy patchouli smell that ruins it. All the other notes are nice.

  • ALISA08/15/2002

This fragrance is so unique, and soft, yet spicy. I absolutely love all of Dolce and Gabbana's fragrances, and the men's also

  • SAMA08/15/2002

this is one of those scents where you'd be better off using only the dusting powder or the lotion. it was too "warm" for me, i felt like it was making me hot and stuffy, if that makes any sense. i had the same experience with Beautiful by Estee Lauder, nice scent buy too clingy and warm. I didn't feel clean or fresh, but hot and stuffy. it is a nice scent, but definitely start out light

  • DENISE07/28/2002

I've worn it for years...it's very sexy, and you need to be a certain type of woman to carry it. Many people compliment it and want to know what it is.

  • MAYA07/23/2002

Hi everyone! I'm new to this site, but I've been wearing this perfume for years and here is what I think: First of all,if you overdo this particular one, you'll kill the entire Earth population. Secondly, as cliche and repetitive as it may sound,it's all about chemistry, chemistry, chemistry. For me,this fragrance smells as if I had just stepped out of the shower. At the same time,my husband tells me that it smells hormonal,as If I was really horny,I swear I'm not kidding! To me the scent evokes non sweet flowers, deep woods, sweet spices and something else that I just can't quite figure out...But keep in mind that as nice as it can be on the right person, again if you overdo it you will feel like you've been bashed in the head with a baseball bat.Less is more is the motto, here. In the summer I use only the shower gel and the powder, and then I dab only a trace amount of perfume in the small of my back. S-P-A-R-I-N-G-L-Y. For me this works,it gets my husband in trouble everytime!

  • SARA07/21/2002

I'm surprised at those who think it smells cheap. I think it smells expensive and upscale. I've gotten so many compliments on it. People seem to LOVE IT!!!

  • BETHANY07/02/2002

After reading all these posts, I thought I was reading about a different perfume than the one I tried today:-). I tested it with a light hand, it smelled gentle, soft, pleasant-like expensive soap. I only wish it had lasted longer. There's something to this body chemistry stuff ;-)

  • NEW YORKER06/24/2002

I only wear this fragrance at night. It's very Italian in that it's sexy and spicy. Nothing shy about this one. To be honest, I don't really love it - it's ok - but when I wear it, I get more male attention than I know what to do with. So when I'm feeling drab and blah, I spray this on my cleavage and suddenly feel like Sophia Loren. One spray is enough. This one is very strong.

  • KIMBERLY06/14/2002

Everyone is very different in what they like but I believe this is a very wonderful fragrance. It was honored with the 1993 International Award from the Italian Accademy for best womens fragrance. It is so pretty on if it goes with your skin chemistry. Give it a try and you will be pleasently suprised. Its one of my favorites.

  • IG06/09/2002

One of the most horrible fragrances out there. Overpowering, cloying, cheap...

  • LOLA05/23/2002

vulgar was the first word that popped into my mind when i tried it.i like D and G feminine and By much more.

  • KATHRYN RYAN04/02/2002

every single time i wear this perfume i get complements. without fail. i'm getting tired of telling people what i'm wearing!! love it though.

  • CARLA04/01/2002

Smells like transpiration on sunthetic clothes too me, that was the first assocation I got. One of the few perfumes, together with Poison, that will really make me sick. But my sister in law wears it and it is nice on her(and she is a beautiful girl)

  • KENNY03/27/2002

very nice fragrance that forces people to ask what it is. Excellent.

  • LIZ03/01/2002

Dolce & Gabanna is fantastic! Classy, beautiful, heady. Highly recommended!

  • JIL01/06/2002

Dolce & Gabanna screwed up on this one! Which pisses me off for the men's version is excellent and discreet, why is the woman so cloying and strong! It not just me I can detect it on others who wear it.

  • JR WALKER01/04/2002

I AGREE WITH YOU TERRY B THIS PERFUME IS A HEAD TURNER. WONDERFUL SCENT!!! IT'S ALL ABOUT CHEMISTRY

  • DEBORAH12/20/2001

    This fragrance is me!

  • GAIL12/15/2001

This scent can be over powering if you use too much, but it's a pretty, clean scent that I think is unusual and nice!

  • JANINE12/06/2001

This is a nice warm scent, very spicy. It's not for everyone. But I love the way it smells. It doesn't cheap one bit.

  • HISAKO11/28/2001

Someone whom I know used to wear this and it was sooo bad. It was a thick, sweet scent with no classy.

  • VANESSA11/25/2001

    Smells cheap and nasty

  • STEFFI11/23/2001

I love this fragrance. It's not offensive at all. Men love the way it smells on me. It's sexy, but also you can just tell that it's very high quality.

  • DJ11/13/2001

I have been wearing this fragrance for the last 3 years, and I still love it as much as I did when I first bought it. I have several bottles of perfume, but Dolce & Gabbana is my absolute favorite!

  • TERRY B 11/13/2001

Super fragrance that is truly sexy. Turns mens heads when you enter a room. I love this stuff it makes you feel like celebrity. I want more perfume like this!

  • BETH11/03/2001

I have been wearing Dolce & Gabbana on and off for over a year now and people still compliment me on my perfume. Sweet, but not too sweet or overpowering. It's great and versatile fragrance goes from the office to a romantic dinner. I'd definately recommend it!

  • WG10/06/2001

Absolutely terrible, sickly sweet and very offensive.YUCK!

  • KRIS09/25/2001

The kind of perfume I like to wear with crisp, tailored clothes. It's clean, but rich. Reminds me of a well-made soap. Makes a good impression.

  • MAMA FEATHERS08/08/2001

This fragrance has a most infectious and compelling aroma that demands the attention of all that encounter its aroma. It is subtle yet alluring. It is stately yet docile.

  • JOLENE07/29/2001

Dolce & Gabanna is a beautiful Italian Floriental perfume. It's very feminine, sexy and sweet. Would make a great gift, too, because it comes in a red velvet box! It's a very classy!

  • RUBY07/07/2001

i think it has orange flowers and carnations in it. i think it's a bit sweet for daytime, maybe better for night.

  • BARBARA07/01/2001

What a wonderful fragrance. I have been using it for quite a while and everyone wants to know what that wonderful smell is.

  • JUDIE05/13/2001

I was followed all around the Grand Bazar in Turkey just to find out what fragrance I was wearing. D&G is a fragrance that makes a statement....without shouting. Never overpowering. What class!!

  • LUCIENNE04/25/2001

Dolce & Gabbana is one of my favourite perfumes. I wear it every day for the office and my colleagues say they know I am around from the lovely smell.

  • AMBER01/09/2001

One of my favourites. The box is made of red velvet and the perfume smells like that too. If you like Alchimie of Rochas, you will like this scent too. It's warm, sexy, original and not too heavy.

  • JUDI10/18/2000

wonderful, best I ever purchased. Previously used Este products, such as Beautiful, Dazzling etc. this is much nicer. not as common either!

  • VALERIE ARNOLD10/01/2000

Dolice & Gabanna perfume is the best perfume I have ever used. I get more compliments on this than any other perfumes I have used put together! I recently purchased another perfume and after wearing it for a week, no one noticed. Back to my Dolce & Gabanna, immediate compliments followed by, "Where can I buy this for my wife, girlfriend, mom, etc..."
