This is my favorite perfume, I would recommend it, and it has a wonderful fresh smell to it.

  • PRISCILLA CLARK05/17/2012

I love this smell and the price was great for the value!!

  • KEITH HIGHTON12/29/2011

The Product was excellent when received in very good time. I Thankyou for your care and presentation of the goods

  • JAN12/20/2011

Just love this gentle fragranted perfume, I have used it for over 20yrs, after using many a differant perfume I always go back to my old faithfull & over the years have converted numerous ladies to this lovely perfume & after only ever having positive comments when worn I will be continuing to wear this perfume for years to come...

  • MARY LIZ05/29/2011

My husband bought me Red Door for Christmas he was wild about it!! I even used the body lotion to slick back my short haircut and everyone was just loved how my hair looked and smelled, needless to say my hubby keeps me amply supplied with all the Red Door line

  • LINDA01/13/2011

I absolutely Love this product!!! I have been wearing this for several years. Many times I have been stopped and asked what I was wearing!!! I haven't had a man tell me once that they didn't like it. Lololol. So please Elizabeth don't ever change the Mens' favorite!!!!!

  • LAURA LEE01/13/2011

I love this fragrance but everyone around me always says I smell to strong even with one spray. I don't know how to wear this fragrance right.

  • INDIABLU01/13/2011

I like a sweet perfume and I find this with Red Door. When I'm out and about people always tell me "you smell so good ,what are you wearing" I smile and say Red Door

  • PARIS04/25/2010

this is this worst scents I've ever smelled. I actually tell the wearers it smells awful. Nauseates me.

  • CAROLYN MCNEAL09/29/2009

This is a sophisticated scent. Personally the flowery sweet Avon style scents are nauseating to me. Red Door smells wonderful and I am always receiving compliments on it.

  • ANNE08/08/2009

Red Door is just about my favorite perfume. I always go back to it. It smells flowery and really sweet, yet it smells like perfume for sophisticated women. Its versatility is convenient because it could be worn anywhere. Elizabeth Arden came up with a gem. It's easy to understand why it is their signature fragrance. I would highly recommend Red Door to any perfume lover.

  • BB02/08/2009

I want to comment on the smell and who should wear it I attended a bridal fair and was told that the best perfume for you is the one others can smell on you but you cannot smell on yourself. maybe its not

  • JOANNAH01/07/2009

over the Red Velvet which I wanted in 07. but couldn't afford and I was given some other fragrances that year. This year I was going to ask hub to buy the Red Velvet for me and while it wasn't really awful on me, it just wasn't as good as this one. I gave hub some choices and he bought another EA fragrance for me. I've seen this one in small bottles at the supermarket and I like it on my MIL. Her and I have similar tastes and body chemistry (it appears) even though there's a 40 year difference between us so I think it's for all ages. (32 and she's nearly 72). I might buy it in the future.

  • JEN12/15/2008

I LOVE RED DOOR. I DON'T WEAR IT EVERY DAY; MAINLY WHEN I NEED A LITTLE BIT OF EXTRA CONFIDENCE. I HAVE THE EDP MINI, AND A DOT BEHIND EACH EAR AND ON EACH WRIST LASTS ALL DAY WITHOUT BEING OVERPOWERING. RED DOOR IS A LINGERING, WARM, RICHLY FLORAL FRAGRANCE. THIS ONE (LIKE CINNABAR, WHICH I ALSO LOVE) IS BEST WHEN USED SPARINGLY, IN MY OPINION.

  • MECHE12/06/2008

Not a big fan here. Many have said" It is like Escada, I cannot find the connection. Too me this is a bad smelling fragrance. So I have to say I would not recomend it.

  • KATHY11/29/2008

Just now saw your question. I spray a couple of times in my cleavage and maybe once on my tummy. That way it isn't overpowering yet can smells whiffs of it all day long. I buy other perfumes but always end up going back to Red Door.

  • PATRICIA10/23/2008

I've never tried the perfume but the toilette spray is just enough sent and very nice. I like it and so has everyone that has smelled it on me. Is the perfume much stronger than the toilette spray?

  • BRIGETTE10/08/2008

It is absolutely the worst perfume I have ever had the misfortune to smell, no-one smells good in it & I will go out of my way to avoid anyone I come across who is wearing it.

  • BARBARA W10/02/2008

This is the sort of fragrance I loathe: shrieking florals with a powdery base. Not my style.

  • FAYE GILIO08/06/2008

I have worn red door for years, must be my signature.I sray above my head and let it float down around me...perfect

  • DMARIE06/23/2008

This was my signature perfume back in school. I like this one sooo much. It is strong but I like it. I can't wear it now because I wore it too much back then. And I also discovered Red Door Revealed which is more up to date and sweet and just lovely!

  • GALA05/23/2008

I like this fragrance, but I actually like Charlie Red better! I know it's inexpensive but it seems to have a more gentle and mellow drydown than Red Door. They are very similar in many ways however.

  • LEIGHANNE05/18/2008

I like red door but my husband, daughter and almost everyone at the office where I work does not!!

  • RITA05/16/2008

I've been wearing Red Door for over 10 years and will say that it is a strong scent best suited for winter wear. The body powder, with a dab of the deodorant on the pulse points of your body works best for me. I love this fragrance, but I have switched up several times over years to other scents not as strong!

  • MELANIE 05/07/2008

Hi lisa, the best way to spray your perfume is on your pulse points. Spray lightly at the base of your neck or on both sides,& on your wrists. Of course,if you have the lotion & shower gel to match, better yet since this is quite a heady scent. As for spraying on your clothes, not a good idea as it can stain and sometimes it remains there no matter how many times you wash your clothes. It's all common sense, really,so hope that helps.

  • MELANIE04/24/2008

Hi lisa,I read your post & my suggestion would be to spray lightly twice on both sides of your neck as this is a strong fragrance, and on your wrists too. If you have the lotion or body powder, better yet,it enhances your scent.

  • ANNE04/23/2008

Red Door smells wonderful, which is why I always come back to it. It has been one of my favorites ever since I received it for a Christmas gift from my late mother several years ago. I layer it with Red Door shower gel and body lotion so that the smell is even stronger. I also like the type of fragrance that it is. I'm glad to read that a lot of people say that men love it. That by itself is a great reason to buy it! I'd highly recommend Red Door.

  • DISAPPOINTED04/15/2008

this perfume smells so lovely on others (floral, sweet and fresh)on me it turns into a powdery pungent mess. My husband smelled it out of the bottle, not even on my skin , and told me to throw it in the garbage! I was also banned from wearing it to work after several complaints. Yikes!

  • ANNE04/06/2008

Red Door smells lovely to me, so it's one of my all-time favorite perfumes. I have a preference for "floral-sweet" fragrances. It's a fragrance that is versatile. It's also easy to find at bargain prices, which is always nice. I can easily understand why Elizabeth Arden now considers Red Door to be a classic perfume.

  • SIL02/29/2008

I´m not too much into this kind of fragances, Red door is just too strong for me. But it smells really nice! I recommend it for people who like sweet floral perfumes.

  • LISA BEE01/12/2008

I hear many comments that red door is too strong...I am not opposed to this but how do you folks who get compliments on this scent wear it? one spray on the neck or do you spray your clothes?

  • TRINIGAL 01/11/2008

Hello sharon. I read your post and I must say, your co-workers seem like very grouchy people with issues. I have a few favourites if you'd like to try them: Try green tea here, April fields by coty, happy by clinique, or maybe even one of Estee Lauder's pleasures scents,my personal faves being the original & pleasures exotic. Hope that helps and one word of advice, always wear subtle scents to the office, that way people won't make any snide comments to ruin your workday.

  • LISA01/08/2008

I noticed when I applied this fragrance as I do the others I own it was waaay too strong...my husband smelled it out of the bottle and said it was really bad smelling...however the next time I wore it I sprayed one time on the small of my back then put clothes on over it and it was just right...rosy, sweet and fruity and fresh!

  • SHARON11/22/2007

I was so excited the night I went out and bought Red Door in 1990. I went to work the next day wearing it and loving it until THREE of my co-workers kept complaining about a strong smell in the office. They all agreed it smelled like some cleaning product and I told them to smell me. Yes, I was the culprit. I was really depressed that the sexy perfume I bought smelled like a cleaning product. Never wore it again. Obviously did not work well with my chemistry!!

  • NY ARTIST09/12/2007

Classic, beautiful, timeless... The fragrance does not turn acid smelling on the skin, especially the deodorant. For those who cannot wear drugstore deodorant - try this .

  • MARA03/27/2007

I NEVER found a fragrance by Elizabeth Arden that I could stand ----until this one. This has to be one of the bes florals ever. Even nicer, it has staying power. I have spent fortunes buying fragrances that no one could ever smell on me--even if they were real real close. This one smells soft, warm and stays on. Hip Hip Hoorah!!!!

  • SEXY LITTEN02/09/2007

this scent literally leaves a wonderfully fragrant trail wherever you go...sweet, floral, amber, fruity but something else that's also a little bit dangerous...I went to visit someone I knew who works in an office and I followed red door down the long hall to the room she was in...a beautiful, voluptuous fragrance which I think is timeless...I am in my early thirties and I don't find this scent young or mature...just refined, feminine, curvy and elegant.

  • DANICA01/16/2007

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE'N it! Quoting The 50 year Old lady from SNL

  • PERFUME NEWBIE01/10/2007

I like this fragrance on other women. I don't especially like it on myself. It's alright, don't get me wrong and I wear it sometimes in the day. Red Door is a mood/place perfume, I've found. It's not light, not modern, kind of elegant and refined and mixes well and won't make you stand out too much. I sometimes wear it when I don't want to stand out too much but just want a regular nice scent. But, I bought a 100ml bottle and have just reached halfway and have bought three other perfumes out of dissatisfaction. I would advise buying a 30 ml bottle if you like this fragrance to keep it fresh as you can get sick of it easily. It smells like a mixture of rose and orange concentrate. Nice in a pinch. My fave at the moment is Byzance. Incredible.

  • AGATHA12/03/2006

I tried Red Door after so many people kept telling me that they prefer it, as it is meant to be such a romantic scent. But I've got to say it is one of the worst perfumes around. It seems to smell so cheap against some of the other Elizabeth Arden fragrances such as Provocative Woman. I must've been sacked by someone wearing this perfume. I've been plagued all day by bad memories. Hubby dislikes this one too. I tested the new Velvet Red Door a couple of days before, and that was much better than the original Red Door.

  • TERRI11/26/2006

People literally stop me to ask what fragrance I am wearing. In stores, even when I stop at the Sonic Drive-in! I love RD and wear it everyday. I agree with another poster about the lotion--it adds something to the whole "experience."

  • KATHRYN10/26/2006

I like this fragrance, it's very classic. However, when I wear it, it seems to provoke a negative reaction! Red Door Revealed gets a better reaction on me.

  • GRETCHEN09/17/2006

Why can't one find universal descriptions of scents? I tried Red Door based on perfume emporium's description- which failed to mention that there was tuberose in this. I looked on other sites with conflicting scent notes- some said gardenia, tuberose- so frustrating!Ugh. Gardenia and tuberose are two flower notes that I can't stand. I used to love florals- I guess my tastes have changed over time. Thankfully, I only purchased a mini if this as Sprawl-mart so I didn't lose out much on this deal. I'll permanently pass on this one.

  • AIMEE09/07/2006

Ladies, if you want to like this scent, then try just the lotion...and I don't mean to slather it all over in layers. Just apply gently to wrists, elbows, backs of knees, a little of the leftover on your neck. Worn this sparingly, it is truly a charming scent. I think you may want to give it a fair chance in small doses. You will get compliments.

  • ALCHIMIE08/10/2006

That's somewhere in between mass market and exclusive, could be as strong, seductive and fabulous like this! I bought the parfum, I didn't believe I was gonna be thrilled, just had to waste some money I guess... )) and it turned out to be something really oriental n great. It reminds me of one of my favorites - classique by JPG. I absolutelly love this one!

  • GREEKGIRL06/26/2006

I have a mini of this but never really thought anything of it, so i never wore it (was planning on giving it to my niece) so one day when i was getting my hear washed (at the hairdresser)as the young girl that was leaning over me, i got a whiff of a very beautiful scent, I said, what are you wearing, she said Red Door, well, i never remembered red door smelling that good, so i went home and tried it , and this time fell in love with it, it really is a beautiful scent, so if you dont like it a first, try again, you might be surprised like i was.

  • SHERI06/21/2006

This stinks on me.......definitely don't like it....I would rather smell like plain ole soap and water than wear this.

  • LITTLE RED BIRD02/28/2006

I love RD by EA. Just so wonderful and classic! First intelligent thing Sylvie has said. She loves Emerarude skank jizz!

  • LOVELY02/05/2006

i guess it okay. not anything i would personaly buy. i was given it as a gift and it was alright at 1st but then after a while it gave me a headache. very strong be careful not too spray too much.

  • AMY02/02/2006

i know i'm not a expert on perfumes or anything but i do know what i like and this one is not it! actually, i've tested alot of elizabeth arden perfumes and none of them smell good to me. the new one Provacative woman was pretty good but the rest including red door smell strong and more suitable for the mature 50yr+ types. no offense to the ones who like it.

  • VIVIAN P01/26/2006

Maybe it's just that she wears such horrible, strong, powdery floral scents. (Can you tell how much I HATE Red Door?) Something a little less strong but still floral might please both of you. AFTER GLOW (NOT GLOW) by Jennifer Lopez has a nice soft rose scent ...Jean Paul Gaultier is a soft oriental floral. If you really prefer something a little more citrusy and fresher, Mat, by Masaki Matsushima manages to be that while still being just sweet enough to please this oriental-floral lover. Best bet for you though, is to take her with you when you shop. Good Luck!

  • BIG D01/08/2006

My wife loves Red Door, Beauty, and othe Arden scents. They are okay by me but would like to see her wear less floral and a bit more citrus and sporty scents. She is hooked on these but I'm looking for something she might like that is inbetween. I've bought her shi by Sung... Okay but doesn't last was her comment. I liked Tommy Bahama and she gagged. I bought her Dune and Happy and those were given away to friends. Green tea was given to my mother. I go to the department stores and after 3 scents they all smell the same. I get home with some perfume that smells nothing like what I remember. Any ideas?

  • GARDENIANGEL12/10/2005

This stuff smells icky. It smells old. I can't even stand it enough to let it sit on my skin. Too strong.

  • LIZA11/09/2005

This stuff was great when it was first introduced. But heaven forbid... It is tooo strong and has a very cheap and shallow quality to it. No offense but it should be phased out....COMPLETELY!!

  • SYLVIE10/25/2005

I love Red Door. It's here to stay!!! I never liked Elizabeth Arden fragrances, but one day I tested Red Door. What a nice surprise!!! Yes, I liked it from the first sniff. WARM, ROUND, SOFT-AMBERY-SWEET and not only a floral! It smells floral-oriental!!! Very subtle oriental (far away from my beloved, spicy Opium). I can smell a similarity to classic Gloria Vanderbilt (the bottle with the swan). Both fragrances smell ultra-feminine, sweet and sexy if used sparingly. Cozy and yummy. "Come-closer-scents". Very long-lasting fragrances and not very expensive. You smell divine for many hours. But if you prefer modern/watery/artificial/clean/cool-fragrances: Please stay away from these classic, sweet-powdery stuff!!! Here a subscription from the Internet: Year Introduced: 1989. Scent Type: Floral - Amber. Top Notes: Red roses, ylang-ylang, peach, plum. Heart Notes: Winter Oriental orchid, jasmine, lily of the valley, Moroccan orange blossom, forest lilies, wild violets, freesia, tuberose, rose. Base Notes: Vetiver, honey, cedarwood, sandalwood, amber, heliotrope, musk, benzoin. "Red Door takes its name from Elizabeth Arden's world-famous spas, the Red Doors. The feminine, ambery floral opens with an accord of fruits and red roses, followed by a floral bouquet featuring an Oriental orchid that blooms only in winter. Warm base notes of woods and amber round out the composition. Red Door is an enduring floral fragrance, suitable for high tea or career wear. It's like opening a door to a bouquet of heavenly red roses."© Enjoy!!!! Have a nice day, Sylvie.

  • KATHY10/19/2005

I absolutely love Red Door. This is a very long lasting scent and if a person over uses it, it will turn others off. It needs no more than one or two sprays and you will still smell great the next day. Spray it on the torso and then put clothes over it, wonderful!! Very classic, but not too sweet and NOT a musky scent.

  • MAYA10/14/2005

Today I tried the infamous RED DOOR. For many years I stayed away from it because whenever I tried it that initial whiff from the bottle was always a little much. I sprayed it on a card this time and walked around the store for a bit. After about 5-10 minutes I took another whiff and was very pleasantly surprised to see that RED DOOR indeed does smell quite nice - that strong initial note had settled into a softer, warmer one. Not offensive after all as I've thought it for years to be due to that initial encounted from the bottle. Once it settled RED DOOR is really quite nice. I can't really put my finger on it, but it definitely is a rosey kind of flowery scent... warm and soft. I have to be honest and say that while I just don't really see myself wearing RED DOOR, I would definitely recommend it to other women, especially if they like floral, rose scents that are not categorized at "teen" scents. Personally I prefer orientals, woody, spicy, warm and sweet scents. Florals don't entice me all that much (at this time - never know that could change with time). Oh and do I need to tell you about the staying power of this fragrance! I think you already know that this will stay with you and stay with you it will. Good for those who love it, not so good for those who don't ;)

  • DARLA09/12/2005

I know it's a few months since you posted, but if you still have that huge bottle of Red Door that you don't know what to do with....send it to me!!!!!

  • GRACIE FROM NELSONVILLE09/09/2005

Just reading the post about the hair bands and the acid wash jeans, big shaker knit sweaters and beads. I did it it too and the mall bangs cemented with freeze n shine and aqua net hair spray. Thats another gripe of mine. The goverment made "them" change hairspray and to take alot of the alcohol and and lacquers out. Now there is no stiff holding hair spray left. It may say its stiff holding but its not. And yes I love Red Door.

  • JOE09/02/2005

AAAhhhh this great smelling perfume reminds me of a home inspector that I had inspect my house once!!! TO DIE FOR!!!!

  • PATTI B08/26/2005

My signature perfume-- love it--- so does my Bassett hound, imagine that--

  • MIMI08/20/2005

15 years ago I had this fragrance and all loved it. roomates would sneak in my room and steal a squirt. I think if I wore it again it would still be captivating. Heavy scent though.

  • TESS08/15/2005

It's way too floral and has a powdery smell to it. Something you might find on an old lady. It's not for me, but I suppose it might be fitting on the right person.

  • MARION07/01/2005

I've been wearing Red Door for over 5 years and the result is always the same 'excellent' from men and women. A man wanted to take a bit out of me because I smelled so good.

  • BUNNY06/27/2005

Love this stuff reminds me of "Cherry Pie" the song not the dessert. I guess I was into hair bands too. Brings back memories skin tight acid washe jeans high top reeboks and mall hair and a huge shaker knit sweater with a belt and beads!

  • COLLEEN05/26/2005

Whenever I wear this perfume guys really take notice. They actually come up to me and ask me what I'm wearing and tell me I smell delicious. It's not my personal favorite on me... but the guys go wild for it!

  • SUE05/25/2005

I used to wear this fragrance back in the early 90's during the "hair band days" and I loved it when it first came out...everybody wore it! My boyfriend's mom gave me a huge bottle of it recently and I was excited to try it again. I don't know what it is but it is just plain stanky!! It was very strong and gave me a headache. It reminded me of the kind of perfumes old ladies wear. I think the scent is just dated compared to the new scents that are out now. I can't bear to wear this one anymore and don't know what to do with this great big bottle I'm stuck with!

  • MICHELLE05/24/2005

I have gotten so many compliments on this. I have even had strangers back track to me after passing them to ask what scent, then telling me how wonderful it was. I too really love the scent. Very feminine and very flattering

  • DAVID05/20/2005

This isn't a review of Arden's "Red Door", but their "Red Door Revealed". I abso-freaking-lutely love it. It's like a more subdued, playful take on the other Ardens, with I guess I should say a 'girly' feel to it. There's just something about it that is so innocently intoxicating. This is an aphrodesiac to me. I suppose it's one of the better Ardens for the more younger crowd, which I am a part of (early-mid 20s).

  • CAROL05/16/2005

Everytime I wear this, men will stop and tell me how good I smell. I have used it for about 5 yrs and its my favorite fragrance.

  • SIDNEY 04/14/2005

I love the smell!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My mom had some red door and I tried it on and I fell in love with it1 it smelled wonderful.

  • BEBE02/25/2005

surprise. whats behind the red door. lovely scent. blooming bubbles. lotion so grand. very nice.

  • KAREN02/03/2005

I rode to and from an event with a woman who was doused in this scent and thought I would die of asphyxiation. Smelled like very strong bug spray. On another day we were hiking together and she commented on how good I smelled. I told her it was white musk and she said the only scent she wore was Red Door.

  • EMMA BOVARY12/28/2004

It just smells like an insect repellent to me..I have to admit though, that I have a client that wears this and it is just beautiful on her...smells like Arpege...go figure...but on me, just call it The Servant's Entrance...sprayed with Raid!

  • LAURAD12/23/2004

This is so strong it actually burnt my nose hairs smelling it. My old aunt came over to the house one day and she was wearing it..the odor alone stripped the varnish from the furniture. The dog left home with a nose bleed and we never saw him again.

  • SHARRIE12/19/2004

a bold brillant perfume. kindof in the middle. lasts long time. i like the lotion.

  • SHARRIE12/17/2004

i choose the red door and win, a tasteful blend, excellent, the body lotion is very smooth

  • PERFUME CRAZY11/29/2004

This one is great. It lingers a long time. It is a great deal since you don't need to use much. I recommend the powder. It comes in a plastic square red box. It has a bit of a sheen to it too.

  • KATHLEEN211/28/2004

The perfume is the best! Buy the small .17 oz. A little goes a long way. Enjoy.

  • MAXXX11/26/2004

Gorgeous as long as you don't over do it. it settles lovley and at the end of the day i love the remaining part of the scent. So reasonably priced too!

  • PIA11/08/2004

I am so nostalgic for Red Door which i have but have not worn in about 8 years or so. I think I will get the powder so I will be "the best smelling girl" like the lady who worked in the huge pharmaceutical building where I worked used to call me,years and years ago.Planning on smelling great this Christmas and New Year!

  • LISHA11/06/2004

I've worn reddoor for a while and it can sometimes give u a major headache, use very lil its a nice evening scent

  • ROCHELLE11/06/2004

Yes it can be strong, so use sparingly, but it is perfect for evening. As others here have noted it is loved by most men, while many women tend to find it too strong. Read an article that explains this: women have a better sense of smell than men, but sight is more important in what we find sexy than scent is. Men don't smell things as intensely as women, but are more turned on by the way things smell. If you like this, try Poison or Rapture, which are also bold and sexy.

  • JOANNE11/01/2004

Its the only perfume I'll ever wear. Get lots of compliments.

  • LAURA LEIGH10/15/2004

rich, full, sweet, precious, kind :) a keepah

  • RED DOOR WOMAN10/02/2004

I have tried many different scents, but this is the one my husband loves. He said it makes him feel like he just wants to hold me and smell me all day long. I love this scent!!!

  • LORI09/25/2004

It has always been said that Red Door is a perfect match for me, and it's my signature scent. I echo that remark! :)

  • MARTIE08/12/2004

I actually like the body lotion better in this. I used to wear the perfume years ago, but I find now, that the perfume is a bit too strong. However, I just tried on some of the body lotion and it's slightly softer with more amber/fresh and less floral (which is good). If I remember correctly, the body powder also does nicely too!

  • LEELEE07/29/2004

my husband bought me a mini parfum of red door - i loved it! for my birthday he bought me the large spray - sexy sweet he loves it too

  • PIA07/07/2004

I wore Red Door in the early ninetees , a woman who worked in the building where I worked would always stop me in the halls and say"you are the best smelling girl here!" believe me it was a huge manufacturing building so to me that was quiet a compliment!

  • KATE06/17/2004

My mother in law got me some of this stuff for Christmas because she wears it and I thought it smelled like an old lady's scent. I am 24, so it really didn't work for me, but I'm sure the blue hair crowd enjoys this one!

  • JAYDEE06/09/2004

Cool. It's nice to see that a woman can still delight in a compliment from a man in this hypersensitive feminist world we live in. Red Door made my now husband start following me around. Great timeless scent.

  • DJ05/18/2004

When I walked by, a male coworker said to me "Keep wearing that perfume...yowsa...Hhmmm...Hhmmm" (Best compliment I've ever had!)

  • JDH05/14/2004

Such a luxurious fragrance. I used to wear this in high school when it first came out and my boyfriend (now my husband) totally loved it. It can be strong so it should not be applied with a heavy hand. I just recently bought a small bottle of it, but I'm afraid to wear it because it may take me back to those insecure high school days.

  • NEL05/12/2004

I REALLY LOVE RED DOOR, IT IS A NICE LINGERING SCENT, ELIZABETH ARDEN ALSO HAS A NEW FRAGRANCE OUT CALLED PROVOCATIVE WOMEN,CAN NOT WAIT TO TRY IT. NOT AVAIABLE ON THE NET YET, BUT AT THE ELIZABETH ARDEN COUNTERS.

  • KABEE04/29/2004

Keep coming back to Red Door. Love it and can't find anything I like as well. Escada' Ibiza Hippie is my next favorite.

  • SONYA04/15/2004

I like to wear this every now and then. It's so lady like and feminine. It's a nice summery, flowery fragrance.

  • ASRI02/25/2004

One of my fave Arden's Parfumes, it's posh but a bit too strong, not good for day time

  • HINA 02/05/2004

    its rally nice perfume

  • LILY01/07/2004

    I love it

  • CARLA12/30/2003

Like the fragrance! Very nice and gives you a sexy feeling

  • BLAH12/22/2003

It is honestly one of the most disguisting perfumes I have ever smelled! My friend had a bottled of this and we all cringed at the sight of it. I would not recommend purchasing this fragrance!!!

  • KIM12/09/2003

I bought my mom some awhile back because I love it and wear it sometimes. She puts on two sprays and I can smell her all over the place! Its beautiful. So dont think you have to take a bath in this one to smell nice. I can recognize this one no matter whos wearing it. Smelt it on a waitress a few weeks ago.

  • JODY11/21/2003

This is a scent I always go back to because I love the way it smells and I always get compliments on it. It's my husband's favorite too!

  • BRENDA10/31/2003

Best compliment that I have gotten from my 10 year old son, (after smelling Red Door in a store) Mom, that smells like you!! :)

  • ERIN10/14/2003

To the people saying its to "over-powering" yes it is strong, you do not have to spray it everywhere. I have and myself gagged and sneezed. A little goes a long way. This makes me feel sexy. My man always goes, oh whats that smell when I wear it.

  • LAURALEE10/11/2003

Red Door has been my all time favourite for as long as I can remember. I'm hoping to get me some for my birthday soon.

  • PIA B.10/06/2003

Red Door is similar to Vanderbilt which I love. Red door is a little stronger and more sophisticated. I love both. I use red door for evening and Vanderbilt for day and holidays. Vanderbilt is sweeter than Red door, but they are both elegant and feminine fragrances. My husband loves both and I get more complements from men on Red door while women seem to like Vanderbilt on me more. Red door makes me think of an upper class women in her early thirtees to late fiftees who lives in a large mansion on an estate high on a hill with wrought iron gates at the entrance and of course a beautiful red door on a white house with large black shutters and tall columns . One can dream!

  • ELLIZA07/16/2003

sharp, sweet, cheap. it goes on and on and on and never changed. plastic overlaid with bad sweet musk (type teenagers find and sport worldwide) with just the hint of rose you think might save it, but then the rose draggles suddenly into that rare, awful flat rose, and the whole thing, already a poor idea, becomes absolutely rancid. this was NASTY. very perfumes hit elevator-emptying status, but this one did!

  • SABBY07/08/2003

I worked in a coffee shop for years and almost every morning the same woman came in wearing an ungodly amount of this nauseating scent. I wanted to vomit before she even entered in anticipation of this vile, powdery, sharp-smelling concoction!

  • JAI07/02/2003

I've worn Red Door for a number of years and I have to admit the majority of compliments come from men. I guess it's up to each individual to decide if that's good or bad :-)

  • MONIQUE06/29/2003

I recently purchased this fragrance, and I was quite disappointed -- it hardly lasted at all, it seemed to be very faint after wearing it for less then 30 minutes..........has anyone else had this experience. I returned it to the place I purchased it and exchanged it for Givenchy Ysatis..........which I love. It really lasts long. Has anyone had a similar experience with Red Door. I know I wore it several years ago and it seemed very long lasting.....I wonder it if it is because I wore the perfume -- I can't remember.

  • FRAN06/29/2003

I hadn't used this fragrance in years. The other day, I walked past the perfume counter and spray the tester on..........it just brought back all sorts of memories during the time I used to wear it. I have been using Pleasures which I also love. I thought I would come back to Red Door since the Pleasure I wore got used up. I think it's nice to take a break from your usual fragrance.

  • NOELLE06/28/2003

I wear both Red Door and Paloma Picasso, and both DRIVE MEN WILD. They both mix well with my natural chemistry, and I have compliments from both men and women EVERY TIME I wear either fragrance. I prefer "strong" scents, red is my favorite color, I'm very tall and outgoing, I like to make a statement without saying a word....

  • MATTIOS05/24/2003

My girlfriend wears this, and the smell drives me wild. She use to wear it to work (we worked together) and it was real hard to concentrate on anything but her. An amazing scent, that is warm, inviting, and extremely sexy. As with all perfumes, how well it wears on you depends on your natural scent - but my advice is to give this one a go - the best perfume I have ever smelt.

  • SUE05/22/2003

This scent really does appeal to men more so than women. I wear it soley for the men :)

  • LALA04/12/2003

the scent is good it doesnt stay on long enough :(

  • SUSAN04/07/2003

I was suspicious, so I tried a sample. I got two compliments from that one time. Both were men. I think men enjoy smelling this more than women.

  • DOESN'T MATTER04/03/2003

I don't know....I simply don't like it. When i put it on for the first few minutes it is not so bad, but when it dryes down it smells very "warm" or should I say sweet and musky at the same time. I like 5th Avenue but not Red door. Too much boring perfume for me.

  • BETH03/14/2003

I wear this perfume and you cannot believe the way men flip over it Everytime I wear it strangers come up to me and tell me I smell so good. Maybe it's just the way it mixes with my chemistry but it's like a love potion!

  • M.J.03/01/2003

In my opinion, Red Door is a scent that is truly fabulous on some people (my Grandma being one of them),and very run of the mill on others (me). I find most of Elizabeth Arden's fragrances to be this way. Not bad, but certainly nothing to write home about.

  • GLORIA02/25/2003

THIS IS THE ONLY ONE I WEAR THAT I GET ANY COMPLIMENTS

  • GLORIA02/13/2003

Sorry, nobody who I worked with at EA could wear this one. Many people I know love it though. I don't get it. It has a stench.

  • DEBBIE02/11/2003

I absoulutely love this scent! I have had so many comments when wearing it and most of them from men who want to buy it for their girlfriends or wifes.

  • LILY02/03/2003

This is one of those perfums that every time I wear it, I get compliments.

  • AEKK01/31/2003

I love this perfume, it is all I will wear, I have been wearing it for 8 years! I always get compliments on how good it smells!

  • SWEET GIRL01/16/2003

    long lasting

  • KATHYZ.12/26/2002

Love Red Door. Have had some on hand for years. Never got sick of it. Very classy. Great for every day.

  • COLLEEN12/03/2002

    Parfum is exquisite

  • ALEXANDRA11/21/2002

Red Door is a great fragrance. It's a classic! I get many compliments when I wear it. In my opinion it is absolutely heavenly. If you don't want to smell rich, sophisticated and glamourous, this one's not for you.

  • EARLINEOLIVER11/14/2002

RedDoor isn't for every one it has to go with your body chemistry. and it goes GREAT with mine. I hate wearing anything else. It's the BEST...

  • VERA10/22/2002

I love the smell, is it casual enough to be worn daily, or since because the background is warm and musk, should it only be worn at night???? please if anyone knows who is more of a perfume person than I am..i'd appreciate it

  • KATIE Z10/19/2002

My sister wears Red Door. When she comes to my apartment, the scent gives me a headache and I feel nauseated. Wish I knew a diplomatic way to persuade her to change fragrances; Red Door is too sweet/heavy anyway. Maybe I'll buy her some other Elizabeth Arden frangrance for her birthday. Any suggestions?

  • AMANDA09/30/2002

Great, the best I have found

  • ANDREA A.09/30/2002

RED DOOR IS THE BEST. FOR THE PAST NINE YEARS, THE ONLY PERFUME I HAVE WORN IS RED DOOR. I GET SO MANY COMPLEMENTS. RED DOOR IS MY SIGNATURE WHEN THEY SMELL MY PERFUME, THEY KNOW I HAVE ARRIVED. LOTIONS, POWDERS, CREAMS, THEY ARE SIMPLY THE BEST!

  • HOLLY09/17/2002

I get more compliments on Red Door than any other fragrance I wear. It actually smells BETTER after it's been on for a few hours, and lasts forever. It's my #1!

  • MARGARET HARDER08/30/2002

I don't go out of the house without this on. I love it and everyone tells me how good it smells on me. I don't even know I have it on and by the end of the day, I am still getting comments on it. I haven't even tried any of the others because this one is my favorite.

  • KARIN08/10/2002

I Love! Red Door and have used it for many many years. I buy it always at Dillards Dept. Store. However of late the last 3 bottles I have purchased have had some sort of problem with the sprayer. It's almost like the tube is clogged up or something. It just won't spray.Dillards didn't have a clue why.I have several bottles half used because I don't want to throw them away of course! But I can't use it either. Any clues as to why this is all of a sudden happening anybody?

  • STEPHANIE07/24/2002

Anyone smelled this yet? I think it smells soooo good. I want to buy some soon. Beautiful bottle too.

  • SOPHIA07/13/2002

Sorry, I didn't like this one. On me it smells very strong and very sharp, like a kind of honey we used to have at home when I was small. It was one of the very few perfumes I ever tried that actually gave me a headache. It also stays on forever and it never changes (although from what I was reading here it does on some people).

  • BETHANY07/02/2002

Pleasant, rosey, slightly fruity smelling, with lasting power. I think I would really enjoy this on someone else, it is (just my opinion) better on a more traditonal or older woman. A nice scent though.

  • ROSE05/24/2002

Red Door smells like a bouquet of roses and is pretty and powdery!

  • JAKQUA05/11/2002

Red Door is a nice fragrance, but at times can be too strong and never mellows out. It is floral, powdery and musky, a bit "old lady-ish" but, I find I like that type of fragrance now that I am no longer a "young lady" myself!!!! I do not recommend the lotion in this fragrance, It smells completely different from the spray and you probably wouldn't like it.

  • JEANNIE05/02/2002

My boyfriend just proposed to me!! He said he loved me for so many reasons, but one for sure was because I wore Red Door and that it drove him crazy for me

  • JUJU05/01/2002

It's a very warm and unique perume, which doesn't suit everyone. I think you need a sunny personality to wear this. It nice that it's not worn by everyone anymore, I got tired of it for that reason when it was first released. Re-discovered it a little while ago, and am in love agin! Strong at first but eventually blends beautifully with my chemistry for day wear.

  • GINI04/19/2002

Everyone loves it... My ONLY fragrance

  • RENATA03/15/2002

Red door is unbelievable. All my lovers get crazy. Since I wear Red Door I have had so many successfull one night stands!

  • DK03/12/2002

Maybe this just doesn't smell good on everyone. However, I get so many compliments when I wear it and Men seem to love it.

  • JANINA02/25/2002

I started wearing this fragrance in 1996 and I've loved it ever since. While at work a guy asked me the name of the perfume I was wearing and I said Red door. He said it smelled soo lovely and did I live behind a red door. :)

  • LORETTA F. D. MIKULA02/20/2002

I can not live without red door

  • SCOUT10002/19/2002

Too strong and gives me sneezing fits.

  • MAGGIEMAE02/17/2002

Don't care much for the EDP but liked the lotion on a co-worker.

  • ALISON02/09/2002

I'm an advertising executive that has been wearing Red Door for quite a few years now and I get comments almost everyday on my perfume. Many times I've been stopped just to be asked what type of perfume I'm wearing. I even had a client call me one day to ask me what I had on because he could still smell the perfume hours after I left! It's the ONLY perfume I'll wear!

  • DIANE01/30/2002

I love the Red Door fragrance. It is a heady floral blended with just a touch of sexy sweetness. Spray lightly for just a touch of mature elegance and feminine power.

  • TRISH01/21/2002

A little goes a long way and is just right. Too much can make someone sick. I ran into an old friend who had apparently bathed in it. After she hugged me goodbye, I was left with the scent on me plus a nauseating headache. I do like this fragrance, but only in the right application.

  • GG01/12/2002

i dont know what people here are talking about. my mother bought red door and i have to admit that it is the most disgusting perfume ever. not soft or like, on the contrary, its a strong nausea-provoking stench. i hate this perfume.. its the kind my grandma uses.....yuck

  • SHERI01/05/2002

Very strong stuff, got a migraine from one spray. It's more of a mature womens fragrance.

  • AIMEE12/20/2001

1st try: living flower; cold & fruity..2nd try: soapy; bubble bath; very sweet; rose-fruit shampoo.

  • MARILYN12/17/2001

Ilove this fragrance when i want to feel soft and feminine, the best perfume Elizabeth Arden has ever come out with.

  • GAIL12/13/2001

I really like this perfume on other people, but not on me. I think it's because it's kind of strong and lingers a long time.Or maybe the dry down on me is bad!

  • MICHELLE12/01/2001

I am impressed by a fragrance that is elegant and sexual. I highly recommend Red Door, Red, Initial by Boucheron and Jivago 24K. Trust me they are all excellent.

  • ANNELIESE11/27/2001

It's my all-time favorite, everywhere I go I get asked what I'm wearing and it lasts & lasts, even the next day...Wonderful!!!

  • KARINA11/26/2001

This fragrance isa warm, soft, and very sophisticated floral. Has always reminded me of shopping in New York during the holidays- inspires that same luxurious warmth and sense of happiness. I have strong "winter" associations with Red Door- think it smells gorgeous on a cold, snowy day.

  • STEPHANIE11/25/2001

I think this is a refined, classic type of fragrance that is not overpowering but definitely lasts longer than many others.

  • CHRISTINA11/20/2001

I think it is good and I like the rose smell in it. It is strong and could last to the next day. But it smells a little bit powdery, especially the second day.

  • DD11/18/2001

Great for you, lucky you! I'm so in love with him, and he doesn't call me. If I put Red Door on he'll never know it, and he'll never smell it. I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, you bastard, why are you so vain? I'm kidding, he's not a bastard, I adore him.

  • DONNA11/02/2001

Put it on after my morning shower and it stays on all day. Everywhere I go, people comment on how good I smell and men have commented on how edible I smell. It's a very clean smelling fragrance and I've used it now for 10 years!

  • KARLA WILLIAMS10/24/2001

Red Door is a great parfume! Like the previous person stated it makes men wild! You will not be unhappy that you bought this product. Wherever I go people ask me what I am wearing.

  • REGGIE MARTIN10/24/2001

Talking from a Mans point of view, RED DOOR is INCREDIBLE on The Right LADY. Mixed with the Ladies CHEMISTRY,This Product unleashes the WILD,ANIMAL Instincts. One MUST use it CORRECTLY,or SUFFER CONSEQUENCES.

  • KIM09/10/2001

Wonderful, especially if you're brunette with gold skin undertones; a terrific all day fragrance; buy the gift box for fragrace layering.

  • SHERRI08/08/2001

I have worn Red Door for about 1 year now. It seems that everywhere I go I get compliments on it and the women want to know what it is so they can get it. Thanks again

  • BREN07/26/2001

I've worn this scent for 10 years. I get frequent compliments. In addition, a co-worker who's allergic to most scents, isn't bothered by this!

  • DENISE06/26/2001

THIS IS A WONDERFUL PERFUME ....MEN ALWAYS COMPLIMENT ME AND ASK WHAT I AM WEARING WHEN I WEAR IT!!! TRY IT LADIES THE MEN LOVE IT!!

  • ANITA JENKINS06/17/2001

i would like to know why elizabeth ardens red door body lotion has changed. i have purchased it for years and i have noticed that the scent is different. it is not as good as before.

  • H.05/31/2001

    Soft and pretty scent!

  • LORI05/03/2001

    Very sexy perfume, try it!

  • CINDY03/15/2001

This has got to be my very favorite! The smell is unlike any I've had tried before and one that will stay with you hours after you first put it on! Love it!

  • ANDREA02/09/2001

Very pretty. You should consider 5th Avenue first though. I like that one a little better.
