I really like it. Has vanilla overtones and jasmine undertones. To me it smells like Cashmere by Donna Karen if others are looking for a similiar scent. I will have to check out the price points with each.

One of the best perfumes ever created, it is such a shame that this perfume is not available in Australia anymore. My message to you all The Perfume Suppliers, Wholesalers Sellers, Perfume Buyers, Manufacturers etc bring this perfume back to us.

Pity this is hard too find. I find it very romantic, sweet with a vanilla undertone. Got alot of compliments and bottle is gorgeous. Love!

i tried this fragrance for the first time when i visied jamica. well when i got back to the states i could not find it. i went back to jamica and quess what there it was. montego bay. shopping spree with carnival cruise lines.

Hi there, ive never tried alchimie but i read on another site that it smells similar to cinema, which i have and love, give it a try.

i just adore this perfume but it's just sooooooooo hard to find, I wish I would find one that smells a lot like it . Please help me. i also use Burberry Original and Cavalli Serpentine ( i find theese in the same scent family). I tried desire-dunhill but i dont find it anyway similar to Alchimie.

At first I didn't think much of it, and found it kind of unpleasant, not in a bad way, just in a boring way. Since I didn't like it much I began wearing it everyday so that I would finish it quickly. Amazingly, people would often compliment me on it. I soon stopped wearing it because since I'm a perfume fanatic I am always getting new perfumes and can't wait to try them. Yesterday I went back to my almost empty bottle and applied a little of it on my hand and to my surprise I got a feeling of not wanting to let it go and actually order it again. Go Figure! I think this perfume smells elegant, but doesn't quite make a statement. Its scent is appropriate for younger and older women. I'm in my late 20's and love sweet, fruity perfumes, and this has a little of both. So that's my opinion, but I recommend you try it for yourself.

First I loved it, then I hated it; then liked it, then was bored by it; then thought it was wimpy, then thought it was bug repellant; liked the dry down then couldn't smell it at all. Either I'm bipolar or this perfume is not a keeper for me. Possibly both. Still, is the name is so cool that I hate giving up on it. We'll see.

Hey gurl, I just wanted to tell You that it DOES last long but if You don't smell it too much after a while, that doesn't mean it's gone. Alchimie is magic because it is not the strong, woody oriental type that You gotta be real careful with. It's a subtle oriental, very mysterious, not too strong but it's still there with it's magic notes. Yeah, I think some perfumes really do evaporate too quickly, but Alchimie's sensual, vanilla base stays on You but in a very subtle form that actually makes it even sexier. Cheers gurl

Rochas seems to always make very special perfumes, and Alchimie is no different when it comes to it. I love the way it opens and develops in the middle notes, but the base is a little bland to me and just does not last as long as I'd like it to. I also find that it sort or reminds me of Amor Amor mixed with a bit of Casmir, but unfortunately it does not last as long as either of them separately. I really wish it had better staying power! It's only drawback!

At least in my opinion this perfume is the best ohe that's ever been created. I was 14 when I fell in love with it, people said it was too "old" for me - BUT I DIDN'T CARE. I fell in love with this the most unique, mysterious, sensual fragrance ever. No other perfume, and I am very interested in perfumes, is even half as interesting as Alchimie. This is not even a fragrance but I'd call it an elixir. I will never change to something else, especially after trying millions of other perfumes. Alchimie will stay with me forever!!!

This perfume smells wonderfull,so sexy & sultry & lasts all day,but i find it so hard to buy in the shops, not many people heard of it!!!!!!!!!!

It is an old school perfume. Very strong, sweet, and overpowering. If you are under 60 you probably will not like it, especially if you are in your 20s or 30s.

I like Alchimie much better though. Rochas is a better quality brand in my opinion.

i'm from romania and here in perfume shops everyone is telling me that this is no longer in production. is it true? I visited rochas website and in the list of women fragrances Alchimie doesn't even appear!!!

This smells like a mans after shave and is nauseating. Had to wash this one off and it lingers I am afraid.

This is good stuff. Can't believe I didn't try it sooner. I love warm, vanilla, orientals! I hope they don't discontinue this one. I can only find it on-line now! If you know of any similar, let me know!

I bought this fine Rochas fragrance. Cute bottle and pleasant smell. But I wear it only 2 times, b/c I miss something special and ultra-feminine in Alchimie. The drydown was not so complex and fullbodied as I hoped. It's a nice fragrance - no doubt. But I like the very exceptionable and complicated perfumes much more. Maybe it was a too modern and synthetic composition for my taste. So I gave Alchimie away.

I have 70 various fragrances, but Alchimie is number 1. It´s the best perfume for me!

i am 28 and i love this sent. not too young or too old lady smelling. just very pretty. a rare perfume. not many people know of alchime. i love it!!!!!!! it can be strong if you use too much!

Alchimie is not a bad smell. But there is an element in it that makes me nauseous and this is one of the very few perfumes that does that to me. Although I like most "sweet" fragrances, the "sweet" in this one sparks my nauseous senses. I don't know why... it just does. Does it do that to anyone else? I'll have to put this one "away" for good. Oh well, I tried.

The scent is nice, but nothing great. Reminds me of Bleumarine.

I bought it online because of the bottle and was so happy to discover it's warm vanilla-flowery scent.Perfect for winter.But be careful with it,it's strong.

I got this scent a few years ago from my boyfriend - he bought it in London. No one else in my world is wearing it. It's very rare and difficult to find in our area....but i love it!!!

smells great at first, but after a while gets kind of sickening sweet. i preferred it on others to myself.

This is a new discovery for me and I just love it!! It is a new favorite! You can wear this nice, soft scent anywhere. I get a lot of compliments on it everywhere I go!! I smell something like creamy caramel in it! LOVE IT! Definitely try this one!!

This is a very nice floriental for everyday use. Sweet and fresh, but not too sweet. For me it smells like a cross between Chopard Casmir and L'eau D'Issey. EDP is pretty strong and long lasting.

I liked it at first, but after a while (20 minutes) didn't seem very special. Just another vanilla-rich scent. Warm, a little bit cloying. Though, for those who are crazy about oriental fragrances could be OK.

I just love this fragrance. I have to be careful wearing certain vanilla Floriental scents because they sometimes turn, but that's never happened with Alchimie. It always smells great on me.

When I wear it, I usually use a vanilla lotion (like from Bath & Body) with it. I get a lot of compliments!

Alchimie is a very pleasant perfume. Oriental, my type. But it didn't last very long. LOVE the bottle. It's something out of Harry Potter.

A floral/oriental scent...one poster stated it was "heavy"..not at all...smells even better as the fragrance settles in...lovely

This is the most gorgeous fragrance that one can ever wear; the problem (at least for me) is that it isn't heavy enough and doesn't last too long!!

I've been wearing a wonderful perfume by Rochas, Byzance, for over 12 years!
