Rochas Tocade is oriental-floral perfume introduced in 1994. It is very sensual, gourmand and passionate. Maurice Roucel, the designer, in the top notes offers us refreshing green notes along with bergamot, freesia and geranium. The heart is temperament and provocative. Pure notes of jasmine, orris, and magnolia intertwined with gentle fresh green tones of lily-of-the-valley. The base consists of amber, musk, cedar, patchoulis, warm and soft powdery vanilla. This very interesting bottle was designed by Serge Mansau.

I absolutely love Tocade and have worn it for years. It is divine and I can smell chocolate in it!!Whenever I wear it I get the most amazing compliments like "someone is wearing the most amazing perfume- what is that?". No, it isn't for everyone...my friend bought it based on how it smelt on me and it did not suit her!. But that is what I love about Tocade..Its unique, its special and there is no other perfume remotely like it!

  • JENNIFER01/24/2014

My signature fragrance. I have loved it since the ninties.

  • PAM POTTER07/01/2012

I have used Tocade/Rochas for over 20 years. Thought this time would treat my self to the perfume. What a disappointment. A lot of money and very little recognision of Tocade. I will be returning to eau de toilette. Has this particular perfume passed it's sell by date.

  • CICELY05/21/2009

Abosolutely love this fragrance. I generally do not like to smell like cake mixture but this has the right blend of vanilla.

  • HOLLYC - CANADA04/07/2008

Read so many positive reviews on this and was so looking forward to receiving. Big disappointment, bland, cheap, flat and boring. Smells like something you would in a super sale bin at a giant discount store. I heard that Rochas had been bought out by Proctor & Gamble or some other giant chemical company. Has the scent been changed (to boost the profit margin)? Has anyone else found the same thing?

  • SHWETA04/03/2008

I have noticed that after tocade has been applied it can still be smelt after several hours with a lovely soft warm cosy scent in the dry down. It lasts forever if sprayed onto my clothes and can be smelt on my skin lingering! Tocade is warm with an indian sweet rose smell.

  • MAUREEN02/14/2008

I tried Tocade expecting more of stronger vanilla-based oriental fragrance. It was pleasant but had no 'oomph' to it.

  • KIA11/02/2007

I have got sooo many compliments from this perfume that I am going to buy a case of it!!! Everyone loves it! Even this pharamacutical guy kept coming bu me to smell me & he said he was going to buy it for his next girlfriend!

  • SUE10/30/2007

GIRLS!!! We must get the Tocade body lotion back. It was fabulous and allowed the perfume to last all day. Everyone loved it!!!!

  • SHEENA02/12/2007

I've been wearing Tocade since I was 19 (I'm an old soul) and I love the warm and sensual notes of this fragrance. Received many compliments for it and though I've always intended to make it my signature perfume for years to come, it was discontinued in Malaysia :(

  • KINSEY12/28/2006

Tocade is an enticing, charming fragrance with warm rose topnotes and an ethereal vanilla-amber base. It smells expensive, and confident, and it looks beautiful in my collection, with its Venetian glass type bottle. I love Tocade.

  • BABYDOLL05/06/2006

Great fragrance, always reminds me of turkish delight. You'll love it if you like sweet, rich fragrances.

  • GAYLA03/10/2006

AWESOME!! I ALWAYS GET COMMENTS ON THIS FRAGRANCE. A GUY HELPED ME GET SOMETHING OFF A GROCERY SHELF AND HUNTED ME DOWN IN THE STORE TO FIND OUT WHAT I WAS WEARING. THIS IS A VERY WOODY SCENT AND WONDERFUL!!

  • SYLVIE01/26/2006

Hi Marilyn, I believe that the different colors of the Tocade tops, depend on their bottle size: 30, 50 or 100 ml. Each size has a special color. Tocade is a playful fragrance and the bottle-design is just perfect: Cute and fanciful.

  • MARILYN01/23/2006

I just bought the Tocade with the blue top then I noticed there is another with a red top, does anyone know if they are different? I love this fragrance it reminds me of Vanilla Baby Powder. Love it!

  • STELLA01/05/2006

Tocade is a wonderful scent created by the same maker of Dunhill Desire for Women. But, while the other one came later and wears slightly greenish in the beginning, Tocade is really smooth and creamy without the often-annoying green note. I'm not a huge fan of the green in my frags, so Tocade is just perfect. If you like Oriental Vanilla then this is just right for you. Hard to find these days but when you do so worth the price and so worth having it.

  • AMINKILA11/09/2005

I have been wearing this fragrance since 1996..... it never ceases to amaze me that everytime! i wear it i get so many complements.... but can't buy it in Australia anymore :(

  • SUE C09/14/2005

As you can tell by the bottle design, this fragrance is designed to be fun and light-hearted, for day or night and especially spring and summer and suits all colours. It is unique for its unusual combination of roses and vanilla, and vanilla in the top, middle and base notes. It sprays on with a delightful burst of frothy fruitiness and the soft powderiness of roses. It is well-blended and has won several fragrance awards.

  • KAREN S. 11/07/2004

Unusual sweet fragrance reminds me of sweet soda yet is not sickly sweet and is sophisticated. I like its idiosyncratic manner

  • EVELYN07/23/2004

Tocade is one of the few fragrances I bought without having a single sniff. When the package arrived I had no idea what to expect. After trying it on, first I thought I was dissapointed. But after a few days I came to like it. Tocade remainds me a bit of Casmir by Chopard, it has a similar impression. Though Tocade has a much better construction, with many more layers, subtlety and handsome vanilla notes instead of the cloying (and headache inducing) sweetness of Casmir. I am not sure whether it will make my favourite list or not, but I definitely liked it. What's more, I think people around me liked Tocade even better. So it wouldn't surprise me at all when someone would ask me what fragrance I am using.

  • NARCISSE NOIR04/28/2004

Tocade is a very warm sweet and luminous fragrance. It goes on very tangy , but morphs into something delicous vanilla and lightly floral rose. The amber is what really stands out on my skin, which I absolutely love! Tocade is such an inexpensive scent too. I purchased a bottle on the internet for 14.99. Give it a try.

  • STELA03/23/2004

    sensual

  • LISA03/12/2004

never heard of "liberty tocade" before. this means over here in switzerland. does anyone know? tocade is great!

  • EG03/09/2004

Could someone explain why there is a "Liberty Tocade" and just plain "Tocade"? Liberty Tocade is a lighter shade in the bottle so I assume it smells different. Anyone know?

  • JILL02/21/2004

I would say to anyone who likes a light perfume, to stay away from this one. Initially, it is heavy and cloying, but mellows out to a soft powdery fragrance in an hour or so. However, it is an acquired taste, and I would seriously recommend testing it out first, before making a purchase. I use mine as room fragrance, about half-an-hour before my guest/s arrive. The effect is very pleasing.

  • LIZ12/27/2003

i wear it summer and winter. it smells absolutely lovely and becomes really great after a few hours and in summer in hot weather: it develops a "softness", "warmth" and "roundness" which is hard to describe. i love it ! men and women, strangers, give me compliments. it really goes with my skin.

  • NIKKOL AND DOROTHY11/09/2003

The moment I spelled this perfume I was captivated. My grandmother kept an empty bottle of gel for a whole year until she realized I call purchase more on the internet for her. Job well done with Tocade

  • PARALLAX11/01/2003

Yes, it's overbearing at first. This perfume needs 3 hours to bring out it's true meaning. Starting sweet, ends dry. Begins cloying, becomes powdery. Rochas understood that by 3 hours, the image that you want to present is not the same as when you first meet. Dynamic, brusque, superficial; changing to comfortable, inviting and clean. Isn't that what we all mean to project in the course of 3 hours?

  • LORETTA10/07/2003

Very french, very sexy, very awesome!!!!!!!!

  • INES06/25/2003

Sali's description is excellent. A very interesting perfume, semi-oriental, (floral-oriental),a fragrance with personality... I like to wear it in fall/winter.

  • MICHELLE06/12/2003

I absloutely loved this perfume. I've been hocked on it for years.

  • SALI06/08/2003

Tocade de Rochas is a gorgeous modern French floral-oriental with notes of rose over cedarwood, amber and vanilla, but it smells like a well-rounded composition in which no single element overrides another. I love this for nighttime because it has opulence for dazzle but it's also soft in a sensual, kittenish way. I've heard this is a favorite among the jetset crowd. It's a fabulous find for those of us who want a modern but high-quality perfume.

  • PERFUME JUNKIE05/11/2003

Any perfume in which you marinade will be too strong. It all depends. I'm a bit tired of people who complain about scents being too strong. What do they do? Drink it?

  • GUERLAINIA03/22/2003

This is a lovely fragrance, but like ALL fragrances, and particularly orientals, it is best when applied sparingly. In fact, there isn't a fragrance in existence that one can splash on with abandon without being over perfumed.

  • G.S.02/01/2003

I think it is quite original...Semi-oriental, which is my favorite fragrance family.

  • SAM12/01/2002

I get compliments whenever I wear it, unlike anything else I wear

  • V.V.11/13/2002

ROCHAS has nice scents. Tocade is very good, chic and elegant. A winter, warm scent, dry, a bit extravagant.

  • JASMINE11/13/2002

by Elizabeth Taylor (discontinued) copied Tocade, they smell so similar. The scent is sweet in an Indian incensey and honeyed way. Vanilla's in there but not as distinctively as in Wish and doesn't smell like it. Didn't like it at first, now I do. Good for winter. I'd give it 3 1/2 stars.

  • SOPHIA07/08/2002

I bought Tocade online, without trying it on. I know now it was a mistake, but hey, the description sounded so good... Unfortunately, it was just way too sweet for me - I prefer less sweet perfumes, but that's just a personal preference. Also, my skin wasn't able to move through the top-middle-dry-out notes. It pretty much smelled the same on me from the second I put it on until I washed it off. I envy those of you who can smell the other components in it - on me it was pretty much vanilla and that was it...

  • MICHELLE04/17/2002

I used to wear Tocade, and liked it a few years ago but I got tired of it. Now I don't really like it at all.

  • KRISTINA04/11/2002

Very nice and very wearable (especially for winter). Semi-oriental,a bit spicy, but not too much... Elegant!

  • TRISH03/29/2002

Too sweet & heavy, not distinct enough.

  • HANA03/24/2002

I'm sorry for Jolene, but it is a very special and sophisticated perfume! Semi-oriental, powdery, ambery. Elegant. Chic.

  • TINA01/24/2002

SMELLS VERY SWEET.... AND ITS ALWAYS BEEN COMPLIMENTED! TRY IT AND YOU LOVE THE SWEET SCENT.

  • NOI12/05/2001

do not like Tocade. too strong !

  • ANNALISA12/03/2001

It's simply wonderful. You feel really a woman when you wear it.

  • A.12/01/2001

It is not very popular, but it's better than the most of todays perfumes! Floriental and powdery, sophisticated. The best of all Rochas women's fragrances.

  • DINA11/17/2001

I forgot to rate the product: 4 out of 5.

  • DINA11/17/2001

This is a very nice scent: powdery, not overpowering, floriental (semi-oriental?)I like it in winter.

  • JOLENE11/12/2001

"maybe it's just not for your chemistry, Jolene!" Gee, thank you for telling me what I just wrote in my first message, Patricia. Of course it's not right for my chemistry. That's why I posted to say that it's cloying on me. JMHO though. I'm sure it smells good on some people - just not on me.

  • PATRICIA11/11/2001

I disagree with Jolene. Tocade is not cloying at all, maybe it's just not for your chemistry, Jolene!Tocade is very distinctive, special, very elegant perfume, typical french. And, as Valeria said it's not trendy at all,it is perfume with character. Spicy, vanilla, amber, it is semi-oriental (floriental), nice for all occasions. I like it for autumn/winter, and always got lot of compliments.

  • JOLENE11/10/2001

I usually like Vanilla-based perfumes, but I don't like Tocade at all! It's very cloying on me. I much prefer Dolce Vita by Christian Dior for a vanilla-type Floriental. Plus, the packaging and bottle for this fragrance look so CHEAP!

  • ELAINE10/12/2001

Tocarde is an extremely elegant, stylish fragrance, it always draws comments.

  • VALERIA10/08/2001

I like it. It is a very unusual floriental, with interesting woody, vanilla, powdery notes. Not trendy and very elegant.

  • VIKI09/17/2001

    Very interesting! Try it!

  • ANN07/28/2001

This scent to me is powdery lightly sweet & musky. on me not far off from giorgio RED.

  • EILEEN03/30/2001

This scent is warm, ambery, powdery with vanilla and unusual floral components. It always gets compliments.
