Those looking for this discontinued gem will be happy to know that it's been brought back to market! It's now being distributed by Selective Beauty. I never had the pleasure of smelling the original, but from what I've read the differences are negligible and only the most trained of noses would be able to tell the difference. As of right now, PE only carries this as a mini, but other online retailers carry the scent. As for the scent, the opening is very chaotic with spices, incense, and an odd fruit note that I didn't care for. After about 30 minutes, the fruit note dissipates, and the dry down begins. This is where this scent shines. The musk, spices, & incense are both masculine and very long lasting. In fact, aside from Bvlgari Black this is the most masculine scent in my collection. Highly recommended for fall, winter, & early spring. Might be a bit much for summer... Enjoy!

Mario, your posts crack me up! I liked "if you reside in Nepal, searching for snow leopards--how about making life easier for yourselves and simply order it from Perfume Emporium?" I used to wonder that myself until I was told that PE doesn't ship to many foreign locations. Guess we should consider ourselves fortunate!

If anybody has some of the original (but now discontinued) Montana Parfum D'Homme I will pay a reasonable price!!! Not the newer green, blue, or red stuff, but the original that was discontinued in 2000. Thanks! [email protected]

Well, at least we can all agree that Montana green-available at this site--is indeed Montana Green. Montana for men however has the original (?) red box advertised here and contining, according to another site, the following notes: lavender, tarragon , bergamot, lemon, fern, pine, rose, leather and amber. I've never smelled it and therefore feel highly qualified to recommend it because, regrattably, I do have a sample of Montana for men in the blue box, (not to be further cionfused with Montana blu, a woman's perfumre) which is much more easily available today and contains patchouli, bitter orange , artemesia , bergamot , orris , geranium , cedarwood , amber and musk. A nice summer scent, but nothing to write home about. It was developed in 1989 (which the red or the blue box? Don't know as sites on the net differ!) And there's also a Montana light, and a Montana 2001 for men which I hope is the blue box but uncertain(having fun yet?) If someone really knows, please post. On a simpler note, re earlier posters; if you reside in Nepal, searching for snow leopards--how about making life easier for yourselves and simply order it from Perfume Emporium, rather than trying to find it with a local retailer?

Used this perfume Montana in 1997, and like never before, many women told me it was absolutely unique.

I didn't like Montana first notes, since I thought it smelled a bit like an old man's cologne. Then, to my surprise, after some minutes it changed to a nice soapy, powdery like fragrance and I couldn't stop smelling. So I shall be buying it soon. It is important to wait some minutes to discover the true beauty of this fragrance. I guess that in the same way that some fragrances because horrible after the first notes disappear, others, like Montana, become a lot better once the drydown has started. This is great for people who like soapy powdery fragrances.

Montana was the best perfume I ever had... my wife love it so much. Can anyone tell me where can I but the perfume in Kuala Lumpur or Singapore? Hard to find it this day.

I`m from Germany and have tried several other fragrences but i always come back to Claude Montanas original scent Parfum d`homme. It`s a unique mixture between floral, spicy and musky notes and has an absolutely erotic, oriental and unresistable karma.Unfortunately they took it from the market (at least in Germany) and i heard that the new one (Montana homme/blue box) is not like the original scent. Please help me,where i can find the original one including after shave, eau de toilette and shower gel.I would be very thankful. Thanks in advance Karim [email protected]

I first smelled Montana for Men in the Bahamas in 1989, and regretted not buying it for 6 years! Hard to find in the USA. Very unusual, and exotic. Hints of musk & clove/nutmeg. If you cannot find this, try Havana by Aramis. Similar but lighter than Montana.
