Sophisticated and feminine The original fragrance and still the best!

  • JANE12/12/2011

    Lovely

  • JANE12/12/2011

    beautiful product!

  • DEE W05/07/2008

I agree with Green Fairy's review of this scent. It is a bit sweeter than what I usually wear, but it's not sweet in a "foody" sort of way. It IS sexy, but in a light-hearted sort of way. I'm wearing it now, and I can't see this one fitting in at the office!

  • ANGELA 04/01/2008

I love it it is so sexy I even had a man that does not prefer women almost feel me up when he smelled it on me although it does not last long so I have to spray a lot but it is worth it, it makes me feel sexy and ready for anything if you know what I mean

  • REBECCA12/15/2007

The instant, seconds after smelling this perfume, I knew I loved it. It just has an incredible combination of notes. It's intoxicating, but not in the same way as a deep or earthy perfume. This is creamy florals and sexy woods. Not too sweet at all, I don't smell any fruit in this one. I looooove it. I will always wear this perfume, I think I found my new signature.

  • SUE C09/21/2007

MaxMara have just released a new scent. It's the same bottle in pink packaging, and is meant to be reminiscent of wearing pure silk. Has anyone been able to try it yet? - should have testers in the dept stores.

  • GREEN FAIRY09/11/2007

I love this scent, but I get the feeling it's probably a bit overpoweringly sweet and fruity for many people. On me, a little goes a long way, and the dry down is so luscious that I feel I'm going to gain weight just from inhaling it so often. It's not a scent I'd wear to work again, though, simply because in the last 3 hours (since I bought it at lunch and spritzed it), 6 men have told me how wonderful I smell. Ladies, that's NOT a bad thing - but it can be a little distracting when at work! :) This isn't a scent for young girls either, though - at least I don't think so. It's weird, but there's a note in there - perhaps it's the vanilla - that makes me think of a pipe tobacco called North Sea. This dries down on me to a sultry, creamy, warm and screamingly sexy scent. Nope - not going to wear it to work anymore, but you can bet I'll wear it every other chance I get! Scent affects my mood in a huge way, and this scent has made me happy, dreamy, and slightly giddy.

  • ANGELIQUE02/27/2007

Smelled nice in the bottle - but once on the skin turned into disgusting "vile stuff". Couldn't get rid of it fast enough.

  • BRENDA11/14/2006

The scent was elegant, its my new favorite. As for staying power.......I wish it would last a little longer.

  • SOGGY 09/03/2006

Nope not for me!! It actually made me feel queasey and I really couldn't smell it after a couple of hours a really good test for me is when you can still smell it on your clothes the next day and I couldn't smell a thing. I will stick to Eternity Moments / Polo Sport for day /new west for nights/and my all time favourite Channel Crystalle!!

  • GREEKGIRL08/04/2006

Just figured out which perfume it reminds me of, Just Cavalli by Roberto Cavalli but Maxmara has a bit of a lemony note whereas Cavalli does not.

  • LAURIN07/23/2006

What a lovely, delicious scent! It only last 2 hours on me (which is the same as Creed), but while it was there, totally heavenly!

  • BRANDY07/20/2006

But somewhere this was compared to Michael -which got my hopes up. I was thoroughly disappointed. Fruity but the tries to be warm; all @ the same time. Failed where Amor Amor suceeded!

  • GINA D07/18/2006

Hi there. Lolita Lempicka is my all time favorite. I always have a bottle on hand. Chance is really good with my chemistry also. I love, I mean really love Coco Mademoselle, but after a few hours it turns kind of powdery on my skin so I had to give up on that one, what a shame! I haven't tried desire yet, I will let you know what I think. I can't wait til you buy MaxMara & get the joy of wearing it all day, it just gets better & better!! Take care!

  • GREEKGIRL07/17/2006

Hi again Gina, we do have similar noses dont we! I love this one gonna get it soon, I have many frags ranging from orientals, chypres and vanilla based ones like addict, shalimar and samsara, instead of going thru them all (theres too many) ill list the ones you might like to try (if you havnt already) ...Lolita Lempicka, Coco Mlle and Chanel Chance, Ghost Deep Nite, Burberrys and Burberry Brit, Presence, Armand Basi in Red, dont know if you like vanilla cos Addict is really nice and so is Samsara, have you tried Desire yet? let me know how you go, hope to hear from you soon, see ya, Helen.

  • COURTNEY07/17/2006

I made the mistake of putting this on. It may smell decent in the bottle, but once it's sprayed, it's a headache and a half! Cashmere and Magnolia together is possibly the culprit. It reminds me exactly of Country-scented air freshener spray!

  • GINA D07/13/2006

Greek Girl this is too funny, we must have the same noses! We have both recently discovered Mont Blanc Individuelle, and now MaxMara. I bought MaxMara this past weekend and I too am Loving it! It seems really unique to me. It is light, yet makes a statement and I really think you could wear this in the summer with a skirt and sandals or with an elegant black evening dress. It is very versatile. After wearing it a while it is even more divine that when I 1st spray it. So seems we both have great taste, what are some of your other favorites? Take care.

  • GREEKGIRL07/10/2006

Sprayed this one on while i was rushing through the shops one night, not really taking notice what i was spraying, well of course i had to rush back the next day to find out what is was, it is absolutely beautiful, smelled like a lemon spread we have here in Australia, its so beautiful i cant stop sniffing my arms, kinda reminds me of another fragrance, cant think of which one yet, but this is gonna be one of my favourites for sure, had no trouble with staying power it lasted a few hours, JUST DIVINE!

  • LAURINHA05/10/2006

It's good, but smells a lot like red fruits. I like fragrances w/ fruits, but not ONLY fruits. It likes more a juice than a perfume!

  • BILLYE T05/04/2006

I ordered a bottle of Max Mara (unsniffed) because I saw some "good noses" had recommended it. Wow! It is gorgeous! It has a slight lemon creme scent (without being "tart" or "tangy") with a soft floral mixed in. I wore it while shopping and while at the fragrance counter another shopper asked what I was wearing and where she could buy it. She said it was just the type of scent she was looking for...smooth, soft, elegant but clean smelling. She kept sniffing my wrist saying over and over "it's beautiful". I shudda got the big bottle because I'm going to reach for this one OFTEN! @<@ U

  • TEE04/11/2006

I sprayed this on at the perfume counter at a detp. store. Shopped for 1/2 hour and sprayed more. By the time I left the mall which was about 2-3 hours later, I could barely smell it. I have oily skin, so staying power has never been a problem for me, in this case it was the perfume. Smelled great though! but eventually dried down to a hair grease cocoa buttery smell. To many things against it for me to buy it. Hope this helps. Also, the bottle is awkward, and I dropped it several times in my attempts to spray it on.

  • COLLETTE01/21/2006

my boyfriend bought me max mara for christmas and it's absolutely gorgeous

  • DJ12/21/2005

just put well together not to heavey warm sweet and not to light fresh sweet but balance, its a smooth smell try it you might like.

  • SUE C12/20/2005

I love the lemon and ginger freshness of this scent softened by very beautiful flowers - it's a shame the bottle is a nuisance and does not stand up properly - be careful. Why do manufacturers make bottles that you are likely to drop?

  • LIZZIE12/12/2005

i think THIS scent must be the perfect compromise between my hubby's love of citrus and my love of edible yumminess. if a lemon meringue pie were to be filled with ginger and flowers, this would be what it'd smell like... absolute heaven! so perfect, rays of sunshine split open the sky when this thing is spritzed on. and yet you still smell like a million dollars. but not old! not young! not too citrusy! sweet, but not food-like! what perfection! you MUST give this a sniff. you will NOT be disappointed, i promise!!!

  • SACHER C12/06/2005

I never buy a scent without walking around for a day smelling a different times of the day and checking it's different layers. This one is pretty good. It does wear well throughout the day and maintains it's complexity. I bought it for my enamorada and it's her sales scent. She has made her sales quota for three months now since wearing it...could it be the perfume?

  • *BARBARA W*12/02/2005

Thanks for all the great suggestions! I actually tried Max Mara today, and loved it, but it didn't stay on my skin for more than an hour! :( :( I'm sooo disappointed, because it's gorgeous (and I tried to EDP). Hanae Mori stays with me all day. I'm going to sample some of your suggestions and get back to you! Thanks again...from a fellow perfume addict. :)

  • NICOLE11/10/2005

Ive never been a perfume kind of girl but i decided I needed to find a signature scent that I finally could not get sick of. It took awhile but I found this scent and i love it! It's the perfect blend of fruity, not to floral the perfect touch of feminine and amazing. I mix it with coconut moisturizer and it gives it a really nice touch or some orange scented moisturizer is also a nice addition.

  • ROBIN 11/01/2005

Well, I've tried the new Fantasy and also Jennifer Lopez Live, and if you are a Hanae Mori/fruity/sweet fan you might really go for these. I'm not a fan of celeb scents in principle, but these are both very attractive and have been getting rave review up here in Vancouver from women of all ages, even the ones who wouldn't in a million years watch their shows or listen to their music. Give them a try -- and check out, if you haven't already, Sui Love by Anna Sui. It's got a lovely tropical/fruity note with passionfruit you might really enjoy.

  • ROBIN 10/17/2005

If I haven't mentioned it already, you will probably ADORE Miss Dior Cherie: it's got green tangerine, wild strawberry and strawberry leaves with other gorgeous flowers and woods. You also might want to try Magnetism, Pure by Alfred Sung -- smells like carrot cake, someone posted: pineapple, orange and cinnamon -- and even Paris Hilton: apples and peaches, surprisingly sophisticated and long-lasting, and less expensive than Cherie. Lots of luck xxoo Robin

  • ROBIN 10/17/2005

Hi, BW! It doesn't smell a whole lot like Hanae Mori -- Maxmara is more lemon/creme brulee, while Hanae Mori is more strawberry-like -- but they are both sweetly fruity with some nice woody undertones. I love Hanae Mori and I love Maxmara, so I think you'll love Max, too.

  • AMY 10/11/2005

I just bought a bottle of Max Mara while in Italy at Epco. I absolutely LOVE this fragrance. My sister and I both bought a bottle. It is so sweet and yummy smelling. And to Barbara W - I have Hanae Mori and I think it does smell very similar to it only better (it is a more grown-up smell).

  • AMY09/23/2005

The scent took some time to get used to but now I am hooked. It is a different scent, very sexy. I get a lot of compliments when I wear it.

  • *BARBARA W*09/17/2005

Hi all...I'm anxious to try this; the descriptions sound like I'd love it. Butterfly by Hanae Mori is one of my favorites - does this smell similar? Thanks. :)

  • ROBIN 09/11/2005

Belle, it's never easy to describe a lovely fragrance -- and I'm in love with this one -- but if you were to think of lemon meringue pie crossed with orchid and magnolia and musk you'd be in the ballpark. Again, you know how it is with fragrance: everybody's got a different nose, different chemistry and different tastes, so the only thing to do is track a tester down and check it out at close range. Good luck

  • BELLE08/29/2005

I don't have a rating to give this one because I've never smelled it. I like Michael by Michael Kors. I do not like Marc Jacobs(too gardenia overkill). How does this compare? I'm trying to decide whether I should get a bottle of Michael since i know I like it or opt to try Max Mara. It has sugar cane in it, but it doesn't smell like vanilla overdone does it?Is it comparable to Sensi by Armani? Thanks to anyone who can help.

  • KINGJON08/26/2005

I gave like 50+ samples to my friends to smell and see what all they liked. I smelled em all 1st and this was what I liked most of all of them. They didn't even notice creed, prolly too lame. THey liked chanel but this from all 3 women, they all wanted a bottle. Wow, I liked it the most, and they all came to me, I wasn't there with them when they smelled it but this is the one they liked over all them. I bought them some and this smells great on them. I asked one of them on how long it lasted. She replied to me saying not long... :( Lasted only 8 hours.... I was thinkin, most male cologne don't last more than 2 hours,... this... to me last long!

  • KAMILL07/10/2005

i totally didn't like this perfume at first.it reminded me of chopard's 'wish'. then my friend came over to my house smelling amazing. when i asked her - it was maxmara. so i gave it another go and loved it. a lot of people ask me about it when i wear it. about staying power - i think its quite a strong perfume especially if you layer it.

  • ROBIN 06/23/2005

At least on me. Everybody's different, though, so give it a try yourself before you take my word for it. Just wanted to make sure nobody wrote this one off for the "it doesn't last" reason, when it's such a scrumptious scent. . .that lasts at least on some of us girls! xxoo

  • DENISE06/10/2005

don't waste your money, although it does smell good,at first it reminded me of escada magnetism, witch i love,i sprayed this all over, then went back to the perfume counter when i was leaving the department store, about an hour later, and sprayed more,by the time i got home i could barely smell it. so what is the point of buying a perfume that you can't smell in an hour?

  • FRAGRANCE JUNKIE06/01/2005

I love Max Mara. It smells very different than the typical fruity scents. It has a solid warm foundation that offsets the sweet notes nicely. I think it lasts well too. Very dumb bottle though. Will fall over easily due to the very narrow bottom.

  • FRAGRANCE JUNKIE05/20/2005

This is a fruity-oriental scent that stands apart in the crowd. The salesperson who demonstrated it to me commented somewhat negatively, that it's heavy on the top notes. Well, I find the top notes quite delightful! I kept smelling my arm all day! To describe Max Mara, I'd say it is sweet like candy, but not girlie sweet candy like Jessica Simpson's stuff. The addition of the exotic woods, musk, and cashmere definitely balance it out so it has the oriental flavor to it as well. If you like Miami Glow by J. Lo, Max Mara has some similarities, but it's not as fruity as Miami Glow. As usual, I have to comment on yet another dumb bottle. Happily, this bottle will stand upright, but the darn thing is not balanced in shape visually, so when I capped it and set it back down on the counter, it fell over anyway! It's got one of those optical illusion shape deals going on, and I'm just too much of a clutz for such things.

  • ROBIN05/10/2005

This is quite a modern, rich scent -- not at all sweet or cloying. Very classy, but good for daytime, too. Great all-round fragrance: fruit/wood lovers, take note!!
