Fluid amber gives the fragrance its depth and sexiness while sparkling acacia, white clove, golden balsam, glittering gold pollen, and East Indian patchouli bring forth the intoxicating allure of the lily. Donna collaborated with jewelry artist Robert Lee Morris to create the bottle for Donna Karan Gold. Robert's signature technique of using metal in his jewelry was incorporated into the luxurious armored gold metal sleeve representing the fragrance's spirit. Notes include Casablanca Lily, Fluid Amber, Acacia, White Clove, Golden Balsam, Gold Pollen, East Indian Patchouli.

to start with iwould say it is the most different fragrance i had tried now, very smooth beautiful lily and amber, lasting is excellent and sure to get compliments as u spray it on u, it lingers around very fast and impressess every one around u.
i liked it from the first spray itself. a soft sweet rose lingers around for a good period of time. the edp is perfect to wear in the evenings as i prefer to do.
My first review was based on the EDT. I recently sampled the EDP and it is a MUCH richer and sensual scent with the amber and leather notes emerging. Adding another star.
Hello, BW! I wonder if perhaps you were trying the EDT? I find the EDP has a lot of depth and it really changes on my skin as it dries down, revealing all sorts of warm, rich, golden impressions. Someone said "invigorating" and that's what I find with this one. At the very beginning, oh, a year ago, I found it a kind of one-note, in-your-face, big loud floral fragrance, but somehow I kept going back, it kept haunting me, growing on me, and with my little samples test-driving it I found that the sillage was excellent, it was very long-wearing, and everyone seemed to ADORE it when they caught a whiff. It doesn't feel loud and aggressive at all anymore -- it's just that it's high-quality stuff, like Chanel, and a little goes a long way. Try it again, and make sure you try the EDP, Barbara!!! I know our noses are quite similar in their likes and dislikes and I'd hate you to overlook something you could really fall in love with. Take care, everybody -- Robin
I'm almost 50 and have been a fragrance junkie for at least 35 of those years. I've spent a small fortune on everything from Chanel to Jovan searching for "the One". I just returned from a trip to Chicago where I experienced Gold. I smelled it in a magazine which I've done so many times and wanted to test it just for fun. WOW! I was totally impressed from the first sniff. My husband who is very allergic and hates strong scents readily bought me the gift set. ( Mother's Day is a few days away). Lilies are my favorite flowers, and this one REALLY is lily, not the loud, cloying attempts of the past. It lasts all day, remains a soft yet intoxicating lily all day. Think of summer in Hawaii and you are pretty close. I live in the South and really must avoid anything annoying. I believe that this one will be elegant even this winter. Afterall, it is a real lily, what more can I say!
I know smelling a perfume on a magazine isn't quite the best way to make up an opinion on it, but when I got a whiff of Gold from my girl's fashion mag, I was simply enthralled. Instantly in my mind I pictured the sparkle of Gold as the halo on Godly figures, could be an angel. The commanding and seductive glow of this perfume gives whoever's wearing this a dynamic elegance and an aura of captivating charm. I can see this one being a big hit in due time, can't try it on my girl soon enough. ;)
I smelled this in Vanity Fair. It is wonderful! If you have the EDP and are willing to trade, I have Escada's Pacific Paradise, Tommy Hilfiger's True Star, and Mary Kay's Velocity (which I'm told smells like Clinique Happy). All three are very nice, but I'd like something different. Let me know if you have the EDP you'd like to trade. Thanks!
I was so excited to try Gold - the notes sounded incredible. It *is* a true lily scent, instantly recognizable, but it just doesn't develop on the skin or go through any interesting changes. It's very linear. I waited patiently for the drydown, but I smelled no amber, no spices, nothing but the flower. I do love lilies and enjoy their fragrance in a bouquet, but I personally don't want to smell like one all day. Stella did a marvelous job bringing depth and sensuality to the rose, and I was hoping Gold would do the same for the lily. Oh well. I'm sure this will be very popular anyway!
I don't usually like floral fragrances, but this one is an exception. I can't get enough of this wonderful lilly fragrance. This is sweet without being cloying. Can't wait to wear this out to a wonderful dinner. Men will be swarming to get a better whif of this exhilirating fragrance. Try this one!!!!
