  • VIC HUNSICKER06/03/2010

The latest batch of English Leather deoderant is terrible, whom ever you hired to make it is a looser. The quality control is pathetic. I believe you have gone to China. The aroma is an offense to the senses, the color is appauling to the eye. I have used your product for over 35 years, this is ashame on your name.

Enjoyed using english leather pre electric for years but have not found it on market, is it still being made????

  • LOA10/07/2008

What happened to the Windrift cologne.I can't find it for my husband

  • CHARLOTTE_SOMETIMES09/01/2008

My rating is for the older (Mem) version of EL as the "New Dana" version could double as lighter fluid. I'm not kidding- its alcohol with a drydown that smells of vomit. The older version, yeow! The dry down is very chypre, powdery really classy! As for it being for old men: I'm a 31 year-old woman and I only wish I would smell this on a man my age instead of some metrosexual candyish scent any day!

  • MIKE DARLING04/18/2007

Ive worn this cologne off and on for 33 yrs. Im 48 now and still love it. Its Old School and very masculine.

  • HUEY04/15/2007

MARIO - YOU SIMPLY DON'T KNOW WHAT GOOD COLOGNE IS! YOU ARE TYPICAL SHALLOW NARCISSISTIC BUFOON WHO WANTS TO SMELL LIKE A WOMAN. ENGLISH LEATHER IS A CLASSY MANLY COLOGNE. I GUESS YOU WOULD NOT UNDERSTAND SINCE I THINK YOU ARE PROBABLY A 20 SOMETHING TEENY BOPPER!

  • MARIO JUSTINIANI03/25/2007

Your Dad, Grandad, Great-Grandad and all your honorable ancestors who rejoiced in Old Spice, Acqua Velva, and this atrocity. It's vulgar and annoying. Last time I saw it, it was at the checkout line at the 99 cent store. Two babes in front of me spotted it and started cracking up. I should have 'chatted them up' as the English say, but I was with She Who Must Be Obeyed. If you feel today's unisex acqua blandness to be boring beyond belief, and want togo retro, mayI suggest getting a good Bay Rum? But if you want to know the all time worsts go to a cheapo drugstore and see the 'clasics' for sale. Btw, the grossly powdery Old Spice was a WOMAN'S pefume that came out in 1937, tanked and was remarketed the next year as a Man's cologne. Same formula. The mind boggles . . .

Most of the time its found at Dollar General which wears off in 30 minutes. And After BO comes through. If you goes to a club to pick up women----They instantly smell a grandpa...they turn and look and low and behold its You wearing English Leather. Only job one can get is a job working for Malt Liquir Colt 45 Company. Cause he smells like their costomers. Most of the women who give player compliments on your colonge are over 65 years old and wearing Depends.

  • GIL11/27/2006

Have to agree with Matthew..The emphasis today with many mens fragrances seems to be to smell like fruit of a bouquet of flowers. English Leather is a timeless, masculine scent that is also refreshing and long lasting. While I have a few "high" end colognes in my collection, I am gravitating more and more back to old school and masculine scents such as English leather and others.

  • MATTHEW10/08/2006

This is another very classy scent! Yes, it does smell "old", but it has such unique character. It was made in a time when a man wanted smell like a man and not like a fruit basket. I'm 35 and my 33 year old wife loves it! Colognes today- 1990's and 2000's smell like baby powders and womens perfumes. It's a cologne for real men only. Shallow and narcissistic men and women 40 or younger need not bother and just stick smelling like a wussy with Armani or Calvin Klein.

  • LINDAW09/21/2006

You had better listen to the ladies. They all rated it high and I love it too!

  • MARK05/20/2006

This is definitely a scent for an older gentelman. It is quite dated and I personally don't like it.

  • MARK03/10/2006

Many may have forgotten that this is what men used to wear all the time. A classic that everyone knows. The trouble today is that the fashion industry would have you buy a scent that smells like a garden salad or a martini. Money cannot buy a good clean scent. Fads come and go. No, I don't want to smell like a drink or a woman. If you try this with an open mind, you'll be convinced as well.

  • RMJ11/22/2005

Well, this is one of those classics that is horribly outdated and i'm not sure if it ever really was liked. The people that said this smells like a man are right...the man no one wants to get near to due to his offense suffocating cologne. If you are over 55 i suppose this would be ok for you if you really want...

  • DENNIS10/06/2005

Wow is this stuff awful. I recommend Deep Woods Off. About the same price, but at least it keeps the bugs away.

  • ART09/02/2005

There is a reason this has been around a long time- it's a great masculine fragrance that defies trends.

  • PHIL 02/21/2005

I have been using English Leather cologne for 45 years. I really like the cologne but I have noticed one thing. When I buy English Leather Cologne in the plastic bottle I notice it does not have the same fragrance.. The cologne in the glass bottle smells like the cologne that I like But the cologne in the plastic bottle smells different. I woulld like to get in touch with the manufacturer to find out why? Has anyone else noticed this?? I will never switch but I would like to know if I should stop buying it in the plastic bottle. It should be the same stuff.. Does anyone know how I can get in touch with the manufacturer??? thanks Phil [email protected]

  • JOSHUA02/07/2005

Over the years I've tried many different fragrances and though it seems that people think that cologne should be expensive to be acceptable, english leather is not only a great cologne but a great scent at a good price, you can't go wrong choosing this product.

  • DONALD HETRICK12/03/2004

why has english lime been discontioned i used it all time i agree with eileen . everyone loved it.

  • EILEEN10/03/2004

MY husband has been using English Leather since 1955 but can no longer get the Lime which everyone loved. Why has it been discontinued?

  • CODY08/20/2004

I wouldn't wear this stuff to a worm wrestle!

  • PAULA04/09/2004

My first boyfriend wore this and I loved it (we're talking 1968). I also loved English Leather Lime. Whenever I see it in a store, I have to smell it and relive old memories.

  • TUFFY SAMS12/03/2003

I use ALL the scents, from Musk to Spice, to Lime, to Windrift, to Classic... They are ALL clean, long lasting, quality fragrances. Especially the Musk and the hard to find SPICED. Just a truly superb cologne. Only used it for about 40 years...

  • TANIL ESEMENLI11/22/2003

this absolutely the best masculine product.

  • ALEX11/17/2003

Can't take it even for a second. Imagine being in an elevator with THIS.

  • JANICE11/16/2003

I love the scent of English Leather - it is one of the things that drew me to my husband when we first met. After all these years he stills wears it and I wouldn't want him to change. It is my favorite.

  • LEGOMAN8510/07/2003

This is a very musky cologne. If you're into that sort of smell, this would be a buy.

  • MARIE09/27/2003

I LOVE this fragrance. My husband wears this and only this. It smells like sweet leather almost but very masculine. LOVE IT!

  • ARNOLD R.05/24/2003

Pretty much the best of the "Dad Colognes." Strong and masculine like Old Spice, yet possessing an elegance that Old Spice lacks. Recommended casual wear, but I think it's one of those that is pretty much universal. Casual, yes -- but office and evening as well. (My dad was a truck driver when I was a kid, and Old Spice was his every-day-going-to-work-wear, and English Leather was for the weekends and evenings. Heh.) It does seem more expensive than I remember, though, which kind of takes some of the fun out of wearing it -- still worth it at discount prices though, if you can find it.

  • JORDAN03/09/2003

it makes you sick when you smell it. I advise smelling and seeing for yourself before purchasing. Mabey its just me.

  • ART HOWLE01/13/2003

I've used English Leather since my college years (1963 through 1979; interrupted by the military). I've tried other more expensive colognes, but most smell too feminine. I still prefer the classic scent of English Leather over all others.

  • PAUL11/30/2002

I've been using it for nearly 30 years and have found nothing similar. Everything else is either too musky or too girly. Its scent subtle and I've received many positive comments about its 'smell' over the years.

  • TATIANA11/03/2002

This is my DH favorite cologne. I like how he smells too. On skin this fragrance develops soft woody-spicy aroma, not strong at all. And this is very manly scent. Once my DH tried Obsession aftershave, which he hated. He said, I smell like a woman. Nothing of that kind can be said about English Leather.

  • ERIC MOESER09/28/2002

I was a bit apprehensive to try this fragrance, because it has a reputation of being "cheap". Well, it may be inexpensive, but it has a pleasant fragrance, and if applied lightly, is quite nice.
