I purchased the original Mania in Italy about five years ago. It is the best perfume I have ever worn. Where in the US can I purchase some more?

  • JUDI W*03/27/2007

From the descriptions, I thought this was gonna be very incensey & hot, it was not to me. I smelled some flowery note that ruined it for me. It's just sitting in my cabinet, and will stay there. No more "unsniffed" for me!!!

  • MANGOS12/06/2006

This is the best scent I've ever had: seductive, mysterious. The only one for autumn.

  • NILLA11/19/2006

are you a goth girl? a chain-smoker? a mysterious femme fatale? if so, you will probably enjoy this dark spicy/woody fragrance. not for women who enjoy mainstream fruity/florals. mania is the antithesis of jlo and britney spears. unfortunately, that's probably why it's been discontinued. mania is a perfume for a mature, confident, darkly sensual woman.

  • LIA10/04/2006

Monik I totally agree with you. The new Mania is flowery and nowhere near as nice as the original. I am getting my 'old style' Mania from where I can which is on the internet.

  • BUTTER03/18/2006

Hi I just wanted to say becuase everyone is talking about ther new mania...well they are two totally different perfumes. The first is simply called Mania, and the second is Armani Mania. Hope this helps.

  • DESDEKID11/06/2005

I think it's he ambergris that gives it the "unisex" note. But it's great scent, unique and powerfull. Great for daytime, office wear.

  • JOANNA 10/14/2005

I love mania but unfortunately i associate with the time i was on a psychiatric ward and was manic as i suffer from bipolar disorder! However I think armani is the best and adore gio.

  • DAMASCENA06/23/2005

I have a bottle of this but I've stopped wearing it. I always feel it is a very "loud" fragrance on me. Maybe the composition is somehow not quite balanced? It feels like there should be something more there, and there isn't.... to add to that, it is so strong it "wears" me! It never seems to blend with my skin. My fiance likes it very much though. Oh well.

  • J.D.04/05/2005

I love [new] Mania! I didn't realize that the version I purchased is the successor to a previous formula until I read some of these comments. I'd like to know what the original was like, but oh well. This was a scent that I got as a sample, and the instant I tried it on, I had to have it! I think it's very pretty, sexy, soft and alluring. I can't stop smelling myself!

  • JANE03/18/2005

I really don't like Mania it is far too strong for me - the last time I wore it I got a very bad headache. I wish I had never purchased it.

  • BEBE03/02/2005

manic for mania. befitting. intense. top notes through bottm exquisite. mania makes me delirous in passion. very nice.

  • LANEY01/23/2005

A friend gave me a bottle of Mania that he purchased thinking it was the men's version...I took a whiff and hated it, but ended up trying it on one day anyhow...apparently, what my own nose rejected my chemisrty loved! I got non-stop compliments on this fragrance and used up the whole 1.7 oz bottle in a month..but the scent does not wear off...hours after I've been wearing it, people still compliment me when I haven't been able to smell it since a 1/2 hr after putting it on...so don't be deceived if you no longer notice the scent...everyone else will and they'll crowd around you to get a whiff, I swear!

  • MONICK01/22/2005

The very first bottle of perfume I bought for myself was Mania...before that I wore essential oils of myrhh, sandalwood, and african lily. It was the first and ONLY perfume I liked. Since its introduction I have bought 3 bottles and have received enormous response on my fragrance (I work in a bar), and have told them of the brand. So now I am low and I discovered that the orig. was discontinued for a more FLORAL scent!!! Perhaps the marketing campaign on the orig. was a little weak, but I believe that word of mouth would have eventually made it a hit, at least for evening wearers. I myself wore it all the time and never found it overbearing. I think that being a little patient on the ROI would have been more profitable since the new version is not as distinguishable, won't last as long on the market, and I definitely won't buy it. Yours VERY truly loyal to the original scent. Monick

  • BRON12/11/2004

This is truly one of my favorites, do not really smell the incense in it but that is a good thing.

  • SHARRIE12/06/2004

a very exotic main course, sensual, the lotion is elegant and very soot smelling delicios as the perfume, very nice

  • AUDREY12/04/2004

lighter than the description might suggest... the top notes are clean while still being warm. but unfortunately for me, that's gone in about 15 min and a musty dry down is what i'm left with. chemisty. :(

  • ANDREA G.09/24/2004

My first impression is: it is so similar to Contradiction! But it is better, somehow more rich and "rounded" fragrance, very feminine. I like it! It is not a complicated fragrance but, anyway, I don't like dark, mysterious, complicated kind of fragrances. This is light, but soft, warm, slightly sweet and sexy. Floriental or Semioriental. Very nice. I'm going to purchase it. Very nice bottle too - simple - typical Armani style, but girly & feminine, too.

  • HRBETTY09/21/2004

I TOO WONDERED WHEN I SAW THE "NEW" SCENT BUT IT IS ACTUALLY A NEW SCENT, TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM THIS ONE HERE IN THE GRAY TYPE BOTTLE.....I WASN'T IMPRESSED WITH THE ORIGINAL BUT THE NEW ONE IS A VERY NICE SOFT SCENT

  • ELS09/19/2004

has anyone seen them recently marketing this as the "new" scent from armani? it's even in a different bottle. am i mistaken, or is this a marketing scam?

  • RICK09/12/2004

I was shopping for my mom, and I knew I wore/liked Mania for men and wanted to try the one for women. In it's white bottle it had a pinkish hue. I tried it out and absolutely loved it. I wouldn't buy it for my mom, but definately any girls I have a relationship with.

  • MARY09/06/2004

Is it just me or does anyone else think Mania smells like Contradiction Lite? I like it, but it seems to have been "done" already.

  • KARNYKIMO09/01/2004

I got a sample of this, and love the fragrance. Can anyone tell me if this scent lasts a long time, or is it gone after a couple of hours? Thanks!

  • SUSANNA08/19/2004

It is actually a totally new fragrance with the same name. It is a lot warmer. Perfect for autumn and winter. The original was also good but I prefer this one. It is more feminine, soft and a little bit sexy. And I love the new colour of the bottle too. My signature fragrance.

  • SUNNY08/14/2004

I wore a sample of the original Mania (the bottle with the black cap), that I had received at a department store back in 2000. I remember liking it, and waited to finish another perfume I had at the time before purchasing it. So why is it that not only has the bottle changed, but the scent too? It's completely different! At least change the name, or add a prefixe to it, like Mania #2 for instance. This one is just another version of Emporio if you ask me. Almost identical. Prefer the original scent. If only I kept at least the little vial it came in just to remember it.

  • DARK08/12/2004

A partner for Armani Mania for Men, the new women’s offering is not to be confused with the feminine version of Mania that L’Oréal launched in 2000 – which comprised a different juice, flacon and packaging – and which is no longer available. “The reason we chose the name Mania for our new feminine fragrance, was because no other name could better express the essence of Armani,” explained Giorgio Armani Parfums Group Marketing Manager Killian Hennessy. “It is for women who are addicted to Giorgio Armani, to the Armani lifestyle, to the Armani philosophy of life,” added Giorgio Armani Marketing Manager Isabelle Morel. The pink Champagne-coloured juice is presented in a clear glass flacon, topped with a mother-of-pearl cap. The outer carton is a subtly pearlised ivory, with the fragrance name embossed in gold. Described as a woody, aromatic floral, Armani Mania features top notes of noble laurel, Sicilian mandarin, blackcurrant and pink pepper. The heart comprises magnolia, lily of the valley, peony and iris, leading to a base of sandalwood, cedar, white musk and amber.

  • SYLVIA08/11/2004

I tried this fragrance last evening .... and I must admit that I was skeptical as spicy and/or sweet fragrances don't mix with my body chemistry. I love it .... I do have a ? The sales person told me that this is new .... and going to be launched this coming Saturday 08/14/2004, however when I read the comments here they date back as far as 2001.

  • LOUISE08/04/2004

I was initially confused about why the G.A.Mania bottle on this website was different than the G.A. Mania in this month's (August 2004) issue of Allure... but, lo and behold, G.A. has created a NEW Mania and apparently discontinued the initial one in 2000 (???) I don't get it. But, I did sample the supposedly new version and it's okay, nothing great and nothing original to be sure, even though I loved the new bottle and wanted it to be wonderful. I wonder, for those who've sampled both, are they the same fragrances in different packaging, or is this one new?? And why would they make two fragrances with exactly the same name??? Please help a fragrance addict solve this quandary!! :-)

  • PERFUME GIRL01/10/2004

I do believe this is my signature scent. I have tried so many different perfumes and I have to say this is the very best. Of course a scent all depends on one's owns chemistry, so there is no way to tell about a scent until you try it on your own skin. this is perfect!

  • LEIKO11/22/2003

It's great. Soft and yet with a strong, somewhat demanding scent to it, perfect for anything!

  • MANDIE11/16/2003

The description of this perfume sounded very nice, said it contained incense which I love. I was very disappointed when I received it, it smells nothing like incense. Try it before you buy!

  • IRENA10/04/2003

Magical mix, fresh, sensual and immense, like a perfect day or a perfect night

  • RANDY05/22/2003

I love this woman's fragrance and I am sad to say it is very hard to find. I have to look all over The Net to find it. This fragrance is very subtle and if you don't realize it you can spray way too much. My boyfriend loves the way it smells on me. I don't like overpowering scents or floral smells.

  • MIRJANA04/09/2003

I normally love Armani... This one is not good at all. I can't even describe the smell, its very - blah. Boring and sort of artificially smelling. I thought I got a bad bottle.

  • KRISTINA04/08/2003

The best you will ever buy trust me smells so f*ing good! Mania #1

  • KATARINA03/31/2003

when i wear it, i feel different, sensual, sexy, seductive, attractive...and my boyfrined feels very excited about it... this parfume satisfais bouth of us

  • DEBRA B02/10/2003

I wish I liked this fragrance, I really do. Armani is always so classy -- the bottle is cool and minimalist, the advertising campaign is understated/sexy, and the ingredients sound like I would like it. But the reality of the product is that it smells very artificial, almost petroleum-ey, such that it's identical on everyone I know who uses it. This is a perfume that wears you, rather than you wearing it. I just don't get it...

  • ELE11/16/2002

A wonderful combination of scents. Romantic and classy.

  • CINDY07/29/2002

I have had so many compliments on how good my perfume when I wear Mania. I do not have any other perfume on my dresser. My boyfriend loves it.

  • BETHANY07/11/2002

Went on very strong, green type smell. On me: Mellowed down to a hard to describe scent -woodsy/soury -kind of like an inexpensive man's aftershave. Glad I tested it first-did not work with my body chemistry.

  • CARLA04/02/2002

it smells like a chuech but who wants to smell like a church?

  • ANA03/12/2002

Amazing.Very classy and refined!!! Excelent minimalistic bottle.Buy youre man Mania men(excellent too)

  • SUSAN01/18/2002

    totally boring....

  • NONA 01/15/2002

you can find it here or at the Steamtown mall if you live near scranton pa

  • JILL01/03/2002

My boyfriend got this for me for V-day last year, and when I ran out, I couldn't find it anywhere. I was devistated. Put it back on the shelves!

  • JULES12/05/2001

I had to send it back. It really smelled BAD. And the bottle wasn't even full - looked partially used - Probably sent back by someone else who was appalled by the scent too.

  • K.12/05/2001

I can't smell this scent at all!!!I don't know what happens with my nose when it is in contact with this fragrance???

  • NICHOLE10/04/2001

My personal experience has been good, except that I can not smell it on me after I spray Mania on. 12 hours later after a grueling shift at the hospital people compliment how great I smell. Maybe that is the case for you as well. I thought it discipated, but I was using so much so that I could smell it that I was actually spraying way too much, my friends noticed and I had to calm it down for my patients. People that wear perfumes and colognes usually become sensitized to smells and have a harder time telling how much is enough. My husband, WOW, when he gets dressed in the morning I can smell him for hours. Finally he is spraying less. The other option is that your body chemistry is not working with this perfume. A popular perfume in highschool did not work with my body chemistry, a totally different smell was produced. God Bless you in your efforts.

  • NONA09/25/2001

This is one of my favorites. But it does have one drawback: it dissapates too quickly. Within 2 hours the scent is gone too quickly. I go through a bottle in less than two weeks. Does anyone know how to keep the fragrance lasting longer?

  • RUBY07/07/2001

a warm subtle scent. good for evening i think. i think it has a tiny bit of incense in it. mostly woods.

  • ZOOKA05/17/2001

This is a truly feminine fragrance, it captures all the emotion and complexity of women, it is subtle, playful, strong and serious all at the same time. It perfectly represents the paradoxal nature of us. It also evokes a sense of fantasy. I just love it!
