Went to Macy's to buy some perfume and lotion, they said it has been replaced with something else. I love Covet. I started many years ago with Chanel, change to Palomo for the last 20 years, then I found Covet. Love it. I need to find it.

Was hoping to be assailed by a blast of fresh greens when first sprayed. Unfortunately it went immediately to powdery, weird, almost astringent musk! Reminded me of the dry down of Curve. Very nauseating and not me. Love, love the bottle and the color of the juice, though.

  • JESS02/22/2009

After drydown it smelled "ok" definately sweeter than when first put on, however, just four hours later it had already wore off.

  • RITA01/13/2009

It's a scent that grows on you. It's similar to Jean Nate, but the dry down on Covet is powdery, wheras the dry down on Jean Nate is more citrusy & lemony. The geranium notes in Covet really come forth as the fragrance blossoms. I can see why SJP tinted this fragrance a green shade: it is very much a green scent. A great all around every day type of scent.

AS SOON AS I SMELLED THIS IT HAD SUCH A RELAXIN FRESH SMELL I JUST HAD TO HAVE IT I ASKED FOR IT FOR MY BIRTHDAY AND ENDED UP GETTING IT THE NEXT DAY FROM MY BABY. I REALLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU GET IF U LIKE JUST PUTTING PERFUME JUST FOR ANY OTHER DAY!

This fragrance smells like a cheap toilet refresher spray that you might smell in a public toilet. Totally disgusting and the kind of smell you can't wait to get away from. Not a winner in my opinion!

  • JENNA11/02/2008

I have tried this multiple times trying to find the notes described as being in here. All I can detect is the wet greens. Maybe it is my chemistry. Her "Lovely" works fantastic for me and I always get compliments. If Covet works for you, enjoy!!

Still liking this one! I just can't describe how creamy and smooth this fragrance is! I am surprised it didn't surpass lovely! I also contacted Coty (the company) and they reassured me it is not being phased out nor discontinued! I am glad I read on the internet that it was being discontinued and I was like Oh no! I haven't had a scent this good and long lasting since my days of wearing chloe narcisse!excellent perfume very creamy sweet and expensive smelling you can wear this to work, school, out on the weekends or on a date! Perfect!

I am not sure if I like this perfume or not. I really liked Lovely as a fall frag. until everyone and their dog started wearing it. Covet is a green scent to me which I am not normally drawn to, however, I always stand in awe of SJP and think she is adorable....it is just not for me. Has anyone tried the Covet in the Purple bottle? I detected a lot of fruity notes in this one....it reminded me of my Givenchy very Ira....which was a gift that I don't much care for. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I had to write again on this one! I highly reccomend this it is so pretty and it lasts. No lie I put this on at 7:30 this morning and I can still smell it strongly on me and it is 3:49 pm. Very good quality fragrance. I now can smell the chocolate in it! Very different from your average perfume not all flowery and common!

  • DMARIE06/11/2008

I like this one it is a light but long lasting pretty smell. smells smooth and creamy with a hint of green nice! will buy again!

I am a big fan of Lovely and was *timid* about smelling Covet. I am very apprehensive about perfume because many give me immediate migraines...(and you know how the sales people like to spray the perfume directly on you in the stores!) I got a sample and was very pleased. Covet has much more of a sweet vs. warm undertone to it. On me, Lovely smells very floral and light. While Lovely is a day fragrance, Covet is something to wear at night when going to a special dinner or out with friends. I spray it on my wrists and neck and can faintly smell it throughout the day. It is not a fragrance that will induce asthma attacks! That is what I love the most about SPJ's fragrances...they are light. I read that if you can smell the perfume you are wearing all the time, then it is not a fragrance that works well with your body. In my experience, Covet is a wonderful fragrance I would reccomend to anyone!

Hey Judi :) I'm not surprised that you don't like Lovely (lol). It's not my type of fragrance, either, so I was surprised how much I enjoy it. I think it just reminds me of the 70s in a good way - all those musk fragrances that were the rage then. Covet is a weird fragrance, and while I don't feel the need to own a bottle, I give SJP some credit for creating something unusual. I like it much better once the "green-ness" wears off.

  • HOLLYC01/11/2008

Ida, I didn't find it green at all, like my review said flat, cheap rose and musk. But other have found it "green" (I don't like smelling like a just mowed lawn either). I would suggest you try before you buy. Sounds like this one swings the spectrum depending on body chemistry.

  • IDA01/04/2008

I havent tried on this one but from the reviews....i wonder if this perfume smells MORE "greeny leafy" or the "chocolaty" smells more overpowering? I'm fine with chocolaty or something like vanilla smells....but not overpowering greeny leafy smell......i 'm a food lover tho...hehe anyone can advise me on this?

  • H.12/20/2007

To me the drydown smells like a white musk ... and I'm partial to any white musk ... but to each her own.

  • HOLLYC12/16/2007

Goes on okay, but dries down to a really flat, cheap smelling rose. Yuck, really, really flat and really, really cheap smelling. Big disappointment. Wouldn't break a store window for it!!

  • JUDI W*12/10/2007

I haven't personally smelled this, but by the notes, green & chocolate, eeewww...but that's just me. Usually you & I have similar tastes, but Lovely, & this is where we part the ways. Never liked "green scents", flowery or fruity, or chocolate either to smell or eat. Like vanilla though. Enjoy what you like, that's what I say...

  • DEE12/04/2007

lovely is a wonderful smelling perfume, so when i heard that she was coming out with a new perfume, i was extremely excited..but i was so let down. the entire perfume smells like wet dirty greens. what a dissapointment

  • BARBARA W11/27/2007

Being a big fan of Lovely, I couldn't wait to try Covet. My first impression was disappointment, but it grew on me as it developed on my skin. The opening is very "green" - Sarah Jessica said she wanted to capture the smell of geranium leaves, and she certainly succeeded! Covet then gets progressively smoother and sweeter, but still retains a dry, chypre character. The drydown is quite delicious as the chocolate and amber notes emerges, but it never gets cloying or sticky sweet. It's very good overall, but so far I'm not in love with it. I'll save my money for another bottle of Black Orchid. ;-)

  • JULIETTE11/27/2007

I have a "perfume" area filled with romantic bottles. Personally, I don't want a lime green and purple bottle. To "Covet" is one of the seven deadly sins. I tried it at a store, and found that it is very "intense".
