I remember buying this as a men's Cologne it was always marketed that way and must have been labeled unisex in the last 12 years or so. Man I'm must be old. But Yeh awesome scent... I won't do without it ever again.

  • LINDA TEESE08/30/2015

This is a fabulous fragrance. Sultry and heady. My signature scent for over 10 years. Don't ever leave the house without a few sprays of this..

  • STACEY01/20/2014

A sensual smell, sexy but classy. Unbelievably beautiful.

  • MAURICIO08/22/2012

Recently purchased another bottle of this elixir, and i discovered the best combination: two sprays of gaultier 2 and then 4 sprays of dior homme intense. Sweeeet!. has anybody experience layering galutier 2?

  • MARY02/17/2011

Love Jean Paul Gaultier's creations. This is a lovely light musk on me. Very sensual.

  • SERGIO02/10/2009

i really love the very expensive perfumes, but this one is the best of the best,it is soft and durable, i agree it is adictive.

  • BARBARA W02/09/2008

I cannot believe the number of compliments from men I get when wearing this! Even men who would not ordinarily notice perfume react to this one with "Oh my God, what are you wearing?". A co-worker wanted to try it, and even she said that when she got home, her husband went nuts for it. What the heck is in this stuff?? lol

  • RICHARD 10/03/2007

I had no idea if this was for men or women so I tried it. WOW! it works both ways. Feminine, yet lacking florals with heavy vanilla notes make a powerful and sexy statement.

  • J.RIV10/03/2007

The scent changes so drastically. I sampled it and it smelld like sweet vanilla and amber the whole time. Never once did it change on my skin. Even when 3 hrs later the drydown phase came... it was just the same smell but dry lol. I think this scent is like Bvlgari Black. once you spray it... thats the scent. Thats all you get. No drydown... no top notes. Just perfume. I think this scent is great. But it aint for me. Too feminine.

  • ADRIANA08/30/2007

Gaultier 2 is lovely on its own, but I like to use it as a base for other perfumes, too. I recently wore this under the original Brit with great results! I sprayed Gaultier first, then Brit over it. If you have some perfumes that could use a bit of sweetness and musk, try this technique!

  • BARBARA W08/09/2007

If you like ambers but find Gaultier 2 too sweet, try Baldessarini Ambré. It's a great amber, really sexy with a smoky edge.

  • ERICA08/08/2007

Every time I wear this, it never fails to get compliments from men - more than any other perfume I wear! It's a keeper.

  • BARBARA W07/17/2007

I'm getting more positive comments on this fragrance than I've gotten in a while. One man today asked me to write it down so he could get it for his wife. And yes, I think a man could pull this off, too. Ok, I think I've posted enough on this board! Sorry! LOL

  • DEWY MIST07/03/2007

I just smelled this the other day at the mall, I was trying to find a cologne for my boyfriend. I picked this bottled up and sprayed it on the paper...I can instantly smell sweet notes. I was confused...I thought it smelled a little girly, but the bottle did not look feminine at all. To my surprise I was told that it was unisex. I kind of liked it, but my boyfriend thought it was awful. It was a little too sweet and feminine smelling to be worn by a man in my opinion....but sometimes I like smelling female scents...lol

  • CATHERINE06/30/2007

This is good stuff - creamy and seductive without being in your face. It's the type of fragrance that melts into your skin to create a soft aura of scent. People will think YOU smell good - not your fragrance - if you know what I mean. A definite winner.

  • VICKY06/28/2007

When I first trayed this perfume I liked it...but with the drydown I got a bit confused. To sweet for a man but to string like tabacco for a woman. I think that the good point in it is that the fragrance is quiet different...May be its remminds me of Chanel egoist...

  • WB06/24/2007

A VERY SEDUCTIVE POTION THAT REALLY WORKS WONDERS FOR ME AND THE LADIES UPON CANTACT. NEXT TO LE MALE, A CLASSSIC IN THE MAKING. THANKS JPG.

  • JAVIER06/23/2007

...and this is coming from a guy who would never wear women's perfume, i guess it's because of the absense of floral notes. After the short initial bublegummy burst,(which i love, btw) it turns so musky and sexy on my skin. I also admire the sleek construction of this EDP...it's so well-made. Primo stuff.

  • BARBARA W05/28/2007

Thanks for the interesting info on the new Thierry Mugler scents - I'll keep my eyes open! I'm not a fan of the women's Angel, but I do like Angel Innocent. Haven't smelled the men's version yet. I'll be looking for your posts - keep them coming! :)

  • TONY T05/27/2007

on mauricio's comments,i agree that at the beginning it is sickly sweet and then transforms to sweet vanilla and a hint of spice. not as feminine as ultraviolet man by paco and it's scent is intoxicating and thorough. long lasting also.

  • RYAN05/14/2007

Actually, I haven't ever worn B*Men, but I've tested it at stores. Normally, I am a huge fan of Thierry Mugler (I LOVE Angel, Angel Men and Cologne), but B*Men isn't my favorite. Also, I heard they are phasing it out and bringing out two new ones Eau de Star (women) and Ice*Men (men). Thierry Mugler's Cologne also works incredibly well for layering with other scents.

  • MAURICIO05/13/2007

This is a hard to describe smell,at first it is like a femenine sweet fragance, but some minutes later it turns in to something memorable, misterious and addictive because of the warm notes of vanilla and amber. This is the only unisex fragance (and bulgary black) that i use because it doesn not have flower nottes.

  • SMARMY05/08/2007

I got a sample of this and don't consider it at all unisex. It's just a more intense version of JPG Classique. It's overwhelming to me and too "spicy". It's not bad, just not for me.

  • BARBARA W05/07/2007

Hi again - so far, I've layered this under Casmir and Stella with interesting results! You are right that anything with vanilla and amber could be a good mix. It's such a versatile scent. I haven't seen the shower gel, either...if you find it, let me know! Was also wondering if you've tried B*Men by Thierry Mugler - I smelled it on a male friend recently and thought it was fabulous!

  • RYAN05/01/2007

Hey, Barbara, I also have tried layering it and it does work well. What have you tried to layer it with so far? I find anything with vanilla or amber in it works extremely well. I also saw on the JPG website there is a shower gel, but I cannot find it anywhere in stores. I wonder if it's only available in Europe? I do find this to be one of my top favorites along with Angel, Angel men and Rochas man! I find myself reaching for these 4 a lot more than all of the others that I have.

  • BARBARA W04/30/2007

Thanks for the tip on the massage oil! I'll have to try it. I bought my Gaultier about a week ago and I am LOVING it. I also find that, because it's a simple, linear perfume, that I can layer other scents over it with great results! This juice is really terrific. :-)

  • RYAN04/24/2007

Barbara, I totally agree with everything you said. It definitely doesn't turn on my skin either, it stays smelling awesome and true all day long. I also agree this is one that could completely be worn day or night in all seasons. On me, this is one of the longest lasting fragrances I own, and I have quite a few. The massage oil is great, and definitely worth the $38.00. I combine the massage oil with Aveeno Creamy Moisturizing oil (a light lotion) and it is incredible. Highly recommended!!

  • BARBARA W04/19/2007

This is more subtle and refined than Joop, in my opinion. I just sampled this today and fell in love with it, as did the man I was with. It's sweet (but not TOO sweet) and slightly spicy, stays true right through the drydown - no unpleasant turns on my skin. This is one of those rare frags that could be worn all year, for any occasion. Sexy and seductive, but in an elegant, restrained way. Seems to me a bit feminine to be unisex, but if you like it, who cares? This will definitely be my next purchase.

  • RE: JB03/13/2007

First of all, I have to completely agree with JB about it not being similar to Joop. When I was younger, my dad used to wear Joop all the time (when it was popular) and I will never forget the scent. I don't think this smells anything like that. I also agree with JB on how the scent transforms from the initial grape bubblegum and rapidly morphs into a very warm, sexy smelling vanilla-amber-honey mix. Now, this is definitely not for a guy who likes smelling like a pine tree, but, for us guys who like to smell different than all the rest, this one is awesome. I'm eagerly awaiting the day when I can go out and purchase the shower gel, lotion and massage oil. Aweseome scent for those who like vanilla/amber!!!!

  • TERA02/14/2007

It must be the HEAVY vanilla and amber notes in this one that gives me a headache. I realy like the fragrance so maybe I'll just wear it behind my knees from now on. If you are sensitive to perfumes, test this one a couple times before investing your money.

  • J.A02/11/2007

I didn't like it! I got bored when I first smelled !Unissex? It's not a men's fragrance, much more a Women's tip! Only for the night!Argh! It has a very very long lasting! Yuk!

  • JENNA02/01/2007

Don't be fooled by the minimalist notes. This one has punch !! It starts out on a very strong amber note then slides into a musky vanilla but not the "oh so common" vanilla note of all the "body" stores that we are all tired of smelling now a days. Think old hollywood glamour and sex appeal. VERY NICE for a change. Enjoy!!

  • HOTKNICKFAN01/31/2007

Initially, I loved it. 20 minutes later, it smelled similiar to bug spray, which is rather offensive. I think its the hint of vanilla that turns badly after awhile. Good thing I sampled before purchasing....

  • PERFUME NEWBIE12/25/2006

I smelled this scent at the perfume dept and I thought it was a men's scent! I loved it and the staff told me it could be a unisex fragrance. I would never wear it myself. Too masculine, but with a real draw factor. Perfect for guys.

  • JB12/12/2006

Gaultier to the power of two...First of all the bottles are really cool, but a magnet fell off of one of mine within the first few times of clicking the bottles together, I super glued it back on. I dont think G2 smells like Joop as two previous posts mention, I cant stand the scent of Joop and if this smelled like that one I wouldnt like this at all. Joop turns my stomach and gives me an instant headache. Gailtier2 makes me feel happy and very comfy. If you dont like very sweet scents then you wont like this one. Try it on your skin NOT on paper! IMO G2 has initial bittersweet top notes that fade quickly into a slightly spicey, very sweet grape bubble gummish like scent and then on into very sweet, warm ambery, honey, buttery, musky, vanilla drydown that is totally intoxicating & very sensual. The shower gel is awesome, the body lotion is nice although very liquidy, its more like a body milk. I LOVE the massage oil, a little goes a long way, it makes my skin very soft and its highly scented. G2 is marketed as unisex, but I know for sure that some guys wont want to wear this. But I wear anything that smells good to me, Masculine? Feminine? Who cares?! If it smells good (and this stuff DOES!) wear it!

  • MIA11/29/2006

Yes, Joop!, but if you like that fragrance, you're sure to love this one too. I think it's a delicious scent : )

  • HARLEY-MAMA11/27/2006

This is a VERY interesting scent. What does it remind me of, was all I kept asking myself as I sniffed my wrist? And then it hit me...it reminded me of Joop! cologne. It's a really nice smell. Very sweet though. I think this would be better worn in the cooler months.
