I have not found a better smelling cologne than this. When I was a teen, someone gave me a free sample, but without the card telling me the name. It took me months before I finally found it. I have not stopped loving it since.

Out of all the colognes I have ever tried this one is the best one yet, I was really Dissappointed when Halston Decided to discontinue this Product. It is a great evening cologne because of its warm accents of cloves, every time I wear this fragrance someone comments on it and wants to know the name of it and were to get it at..

What I found out is it smells great on some and others it doesn't.My friend doesn't like it on him but says it smells great on me.

I ordered this online for myself, wanting to try it and with the assumption that it was the womens version. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), it was not. I was shocked at the cheap packaging as well as the drugstore looking bottle it came in. When I smelled it, I had to look again to see if it was made by Halston. It was overpowering and not attracting to me at all. It truly has a scent of drugstore cheap cologne. Hating to just toss it, I offered it to one of my male friends - his response...Whew, that can't be Halston! However, he did decide to keep it for an emergency backup when out of his regular cologen, Drakkar.

My friend was moving, and she came across her husbands bottle of Catalyst. She told me to smell it, and I was like, "wow!" It was really light, and an easy smell to wear, ya know? My wife loved it too. Shes always hated my cologne. I told my friend and she said to keep the bottle. WHAT A DEAL!!!

A VERY UNDERSTATED FRAGRANCE THAT HAS APPARENTLY GONE UNNOTICED, WHICH IS GREAT THING TO ME. HALSTON HAS MADE ANOTHER WINNER IN MY BOOK.

MAKE HALSTON THE "CATALYST" FOR RAKING IN THE HONEYS!!!!!!

Not the manliest fragrance I own, but Catalyst really does wear well for the late autumn and winter months; the notes are perfectly blended for a cold-weather scent. Nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, etc… It’s mouth-watering like home-made bread in the oven or fresh-baked cookies with eggnog. When the cold weather in your area starts rolling around again, see if you can find a bottle of Catalyst and give it a try.

ok, most men's colognes are awful -- cheap musky, sweet, overly persistent. this is an exception. i note the negatives all focus on the clove/spice scent. but that is the BEAUTY of this -- it smells natural, real, like something a real, normal human being might actually SMELL like. nutmeg, sandalwood, cloves. it's comforting, gentle, not incredibly strong, yet elegant. while i love scent on women, on men i've held off. recently some girlfriends, a male friend, and i were dishing on scent, and he asked what colognes he should buy. this and eau sauvage were the two everyone agreed on, and this is one of only 3 or 4 i would ever give, or encourage, my honey to wear. guys, WAKE UP! sweet, sticky, musky, cheap, underarm-deodorant-flavor, chemical is NOT where it's at for women. natural, subtle, sexy -- sandalwood, cloves, nutmeg, lemon, fresh laundry, basil, pine ... all those things really do it for most of the women i know. ONE or TWO notes of them, at most.

I use to buy RED for men, then they stopped making it, bummer, then I tried CATALYST, happy days, this stuff is great, to bad others can't enjoy it, my wife loves it on me!!

This smells like potpourri or something you pour on a ham, not cologne.

I've been using this product for at least five years. I used to switch off from two to three other fragrances, but Catalyst is now the only fragrance that sits in cabinet. Quite simply, it is the best stuff out there! The fragrance is very versatile: it's great for daytime use and evening use. The scent is not overbearing or overpowering...and yes...women love it...I have never been complimented on any of the other colognes I've worn....BUT...since I've been using Catalyst, women come up to me and say "You smell great! What is that?!" I cannot say enough about this fragrance....PLEASE don't stop making it....

Couldn't post under the 1-12 message for some reason. 1-12 I remembered from the early 80s when I was in high school. I recently got another bottle and it is just as fresh and alive as it was then. Just wish it were in an eau de toilette strenght.

This stuff can't be cologne? I can't understand how anyone could like it. Too much, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice or something like pumpkin pie spice.

I bought this for my "significant other"...I think he smells very sexy wearing it ..not that he needs it. He has since bought more so I would say he likes it also...by the way you can buy it much cheaper.

I purchased a large bottle for under 15.00 and that was far to expensive for this awful smelling fragrance. I have to say it was one of the worst I have ever smelled. Not that I mind cloves, but I prefer cooking with them to wearing them.

I am looking for the Catalyst After Shave LOTION- this is the green with the orange at the bottom. It is one of the best after shaves I have ever used. Apparently it may have been discontinued. Can I get some feedback on this please?

This smells just like clove oil. Horrible and yuck! Oh, and by the way, you can get for much cheaper at most retail stores, though I wouldn't advise it.
