Introducing 5th avenue After Five by Elizabeth Arden. It's that time...when the day is long, the night is young and the city is the place to be. It's after five and uptown, downtown, across town... the possibilities are endless. 5th Avenue after five is a sheer oriental. Incredibly sensual, totally unexpected. EARLY (TOP NOTES): The lucious and silky nectar of ripe Black Plum. Hints of Bergamot and Coriander wrapped in golden Honeysuckle. LATE (HEART NOTES): Dewy muguet and pearly Jasmine Sambac meet Saffron and Indian Lotus Blossom, adding a cosmopolitan and unexpected point of view. LATER (BASE NOTES): Because the best occasions always end on a good note - this sheer fragrance leaves a lasting impression of creamy Sandalwood, clean White Birch and the luxury of Tonka and Musk. After Five isn't a time, it's a state of mind. It's dim lights and loud music. It's new people and old friends. It's the excitement of an evening where anything can happen. 5th Avenue After Five. It's just the beginning.

This fragrance is same with burberry london but it's lil bit fresher

  • JOANNAH02/07/2010

Perhaps as far as ingredients but it doesn't smell that way on me which is why I wrote I prefer orientals in the Winter, ones that are a bit "louder".

  • JOANNAH02/07/2010

I'd wanted it for years and got it a couple of Christmas ago. I really like it but it works best in Fall and Spring on me which I don't mind because I like to shift around and use more oriental fragrances in the Winter, light florals in the summer...as a rule, but there are exceptions.

I've raved about this fragrance for long after having tested it a few years ago and my husband finally got it for my birthday this year. However, I worry that there's something wrong with my bottle. It smells nothing on me like it did a few years ago or perhaps my body chemistry has changed? It starts off very alcoholic now, then it goes strong cheap soapy before it finally settles to a very subtle version of how good I remembered it. I wouldn't disuade anyone else from buying it though. Test it first, I hope it works with your chemistry because I still like the fragrance straight out of the bottle. I've changed body lotion. Could that be affecting how it smells? It's supposedly a neutral pharmacy lotion but perhaps the ingredients in it affects the fragrance? I really want to like it again. I've only worn it once recently and will continue to give it a chance.

This one is so much like many others that my opinion is - WHY BOTHER??? It actually ends up a mess of musk and sweet. If that's what you want after five then all the more power to you.

I do like this scent. It's a bit "perfumey" if that makes sense. I would say formal. Nice for the office. Will use it once in a while but will not repurchase.

  • LUSI05/04/2007

Very oriental, and sensual, but soft... urban. Good for office wear.

The official description of After Five says that it is "a state of mind (...) dim lights and loud music". Well, at least on me, After Five gets across a completely different message. It is a very feminine, classy fragrance, the one I choose to wear when I don't want an obvious smell of perfume. There's an air of naïve sensuality about it, something a yummy mummy would wear rather than someone who's dressed to kill, if you know what I mean. It perfectly matches my skin chemistry in the same way that Dolce & Gabbana (red) does and I've noticed that both have coriander in their composition. I shall look for this ingredient from now on.

It was love at first scent, i suppose. It's fresh and feminine, it gets better as the time goes by. The best part is that it lasts longer than any other perfumes that I have. It has been my 'signature' since oct'06. To me, it is kinda timeless piece.

  • KALINA01/13/2007

this smells realy nice.. i first smelled it a few days ago at the px on post and ended up getting it.. nice

  • KITKAT08/28/2006

I've been wearing this for a while now and I may have been hasty in my original post. It's not over powering or overly flowery and just smells lady like and fresh. I think I'm starting to like it better than I did originally. Also, it's not like so many other perfumes out there. It's a good signature scent. And good to be worn day or night. Also last on me all day which is a plus.

  • KITKAT08/02/2006

I really was disappointed in this perfume. Can't really put my finger on it other than to say it smells like a cheap perfume. Also, it's too much like 5th Avenue for my taste. I'm glad I bought the small bottle.

  • BRANDY 07/19/2006

I smelled it from the bottle and my sister sprayed some on her skin. We have similar taste in fragrance. To me it smell very elegant and classy. I really like it. Don't spray it on a blotter or placard! Spray it on your wrist and walk around for about 30 mins to an hour. Then give your opinion.

  • HAZEL06/25/2006

I like its smell but it's a bit light and doesn't the fragrence doesn't stay on for a long time

  • SOUTHERNGIRL06/23/2006

I love this scent! I especially love that perfumeoutlet.net has the 4.4 ounce bottle for 20 bucks cheaper. This site is great but do some comparison shopping before you buy. Sometimes theyre the lowest often times they aren't. but I keep coming back because they have the most extensive reviews of any fragrance site out there.

  • TARA04/20/2006

I sampled this on my skin and a bit on my T-shirt. Then I didnt think about it and went on with my day. But, later on I happened to get a whiff of my T-shirt and was amazed with the wonderful, absolutely gorgeous smell. So, tomorrow i go back to the store and try it again.

  • TANIKA04/18/2006

I love this perfume. When you first spray it... the scent isn't anything special but once it soaks into your skin it is the best ever! I love it. It's a nice soft soapy fragerance.

  • PERFUMEADDICT04/04/2006

Even though this sounds like a warm burst of woods it actually turns to a very fresh clean scent on my skin. I really like it. It's nothing like regular 5th Ave. I'd give it a try.

  • MAYA01/09/2006

I was so intrigued by the notes I've seen describing this scent, they sound so lovely so charismatic and yet so mysterious... But when I gave it a try I was quite disappointed! I mean "nectar of ripe Black Plum (yum)... Coriander wrapped in golden Honeysuckle (WOW)... and then Dewy muguet and pearly Jasmine Sambac meet Saffron and Indian Lotus Blossom (Purely divine)"... This sounds like it could not possibly smell more enticing and divine! But at best to me this smells very average. Now I will have to admit to one thing, I only sprayed this on a card and not on my skin... So when it evolved and ripened it came of bit flat and did not blossom as it might have on my skin... Well, for now I'm not enthralled but I will give it another chance (who could resist the sound of the notes like that?), next time I'll try it on my skin and will re-post again in case I do fall in love ;) I would love to hear from anyone on this one, especially if you did love it :)
