This perfume is horrid. I was so curious after I read about it in a few places, but I couldn't find it anywhere. It smells like a cheap knock-off. Thank goodness I just bought a mini....which I will give to anyone who will take it.

I know this is a limited addition but does any one know where you can find this product! It does have such a wonderful scent for those warmer months.

I regret that I didn't buy this one. I'm too young for the original Opium, it would just seem "rediculously" mature like I'd nicked my mom's perfume. Never mind that I'm 30 (mom's 60 and hates Opium, loves Clinique Happy and similar fragrances) I look 18-20 and I agree that it's entirely different.

I am officially addicted to this scent! I found myself reapplying it all day yesterday, and I woke up to the scent still lingering on my skin! It is absolute heaven! I'm only sorry this is a limited edition. :(

This is a beautifully constructed perfume, but I don't detect much similarity to the original Opium. With the original, the heady spices are the star of the show, but with Shanghai, the mandarin and soft floral notes dominate. I think this perfume stands on its own, and that people who do not care for the original Opium may very well enjoy this. Whereas the original is assertive and overtly sexy, Shanghai is soft and delicate and does not shout. I do still prefer the original - it has guts and moxie, but Shanghai is more wearable overall and will appeal to a wider audience. But, I will wear this often in the warmer months when Opium can be too much of a good thing. If you enjoy soft, floral-orientals, liking this is almost guaranteed. :) Enjoy!
