purchased for my husband, it's the same as the previous purchase.

So i finally see I'm not crazy. The new r.c. musk is e great example of what greed does. The new "five star" version sux and is'nt worth a dime. It neither lasts as long as the original nor remotely smells as rich and appealing. It's a stinking rip-off and I personally am going to sees 2 it that others know about this. But who broke the story? - I'd liken 2 congratulate him or her because this is unethical and should be made public info. Guarantee you Aqua-Velva Ice Blue is better now - what an insult.

that's right, five star fragrance got a hold of this once great cologne and destroyed it. they also got the bijon rights. i bought the new bijon and what a disgrace. took something out and still charge the same price.what gets me is they think people wont notice. only the ones who never had the real deal. they don't know what it really smells like.royal copenhagen used to be one of my favorites. what 5 star makes is a joke.

When perfume manufacturers change design houses and distributors sometimes they keep essential ingredients a secret or hold a patent on it. Below is a description of the original ingredients. Compare them with a description from other sites and you'll see that a couple of ingredients have changed or are missing. I still like the scent and so does my wife and her opinion is the only one that matters, really. "Launched by the design house of Royal Copenhagen in 1976, Royal Copenhagen Musk cologne is classified as a romantic, warm and rich oriental fragrance. The composition of this masculine scent includes lavender, neroli, basil, and sage over clove, nutmeg, jasmine, and a rugged base of patchouli and musk."

When they ?? switched from Tsumera Dist to 5 Star the scent changed!!! Must be a way to save a buck and still charge the customer the same price.

I just purchased a couple of bottles of R/C Musk that was supplied to on-line seller by Five Star Fragrances. It has no aroma, and is like putting colored water on your body. If anyone knows where I can get the "real" R/C Musk I would like to hear from you. I have bought from two different companies, and both have been horrible.

  • TOOTALL02/05/2007

I have used this porduct since it came out in 1974. I recently ran out of my 'stock' and had to purchase on-line. I have tried 4 different companies and like many they have changed the smell. No one seems to know why and I can't get to the manufactor!!! This really sucks as many have said B4. any idea's would be great. The new product is horrible!!!

If this fragrance has changed I'm certainly displeased to hear it. It used to smell so good. I will have to try it again to see for myself. Used to love the smell of it.

I used Royal Copenhagen extensively in the 1970's & 80's until I couldn't fine it anymore in stores. I just bought the 8oz Royal Copenhagen Musk Cologne, and was surprised to find it does not smell the same as before, I liked the old fragrance much better then this new one. Why they changed it I don't understand. I always had many friends ask what after shave are you wearing Lou, it smells so great. I'm really discontent now.

Too powdery and sweet- more like a deodorant soap smell than a cologne.

I was very surprised by the compliments from different lady co-workers whom I caught smelling the phone I just used!!

Royal Copenhagen has always been a favorite of mine. One day, I bought some RC in a department store, and when I got home, I discovered that the salesperson had mistakenly given me the "Musk" verson of this product. I tried it, and found that I like it even better than the "regular" RC. This is a pleasant, masculine, somewhat "formal" fragrance. Use with discretion; others will notice this fragrance long after your own "nose" has adjusted to it (it's called "olfactory fatigue"). I have had many positive comments about RC Musk. It's different enough from all the others that seem to "smell alike" to me. I use it as a "change-of-pace" when I am not wearing Lagerfeld (another wonderfully different fragrance from all those "leathery" and "woodsy" scents that are on the market). If you want something that is both different and pleasant, I recommend RC Musk...
