  • MARK01/01/2013

Love, love, love this cologne!!! It is the only cologne I have ever worn that I get compliments on! I even met a woman online who mentioned that her favorite men's cologne is Lolita Lempicka! We've been dating a year now!

  • JEEPSRT803/19/2011

This one doesn't seem to sit well with my chemistry. It's awfully sweet but doesn't work it's magic like Hanae Mori does for me. Not bad at all but I'll pass.

  • N2DBLU02/18/2011

I can't stand licorice, I don't drink Jager and this cologne definitely isn't for my chemistry. A couple of my pretty lady friends said it smelled decent on my skin when I sampled it so I guess it's not THAT bad.

  • COLOGNE DOC07/16/2010

great smelling cologne but only last about an hour. rate it so-so, what good is it if no one can smell it.

  • SLIMM06/28/2010

Well, I believe it's no secret that Black Licorice is supposed to be an ancient aphrodisiac. Oddly enough though, it's a terrible candy (tastes like sugar and hate). But, Lolita seems to pull it off quite well. My only grievance is how linear the fragrance seems to be. Black licorice is pretty much all you smell, albeit done well. This is cologne is one you'll enjoy dependent on the mood you're in.

  • ALLIE12/28/2009

My boyfriend wears this cologne, and it's absolutely delicious. I do not particularly care for the scent of licorice in its true form, but in this cologne, it makes licorice seem like a delectable treat. I love that it lasts; he smells wonderful all day and in the morning, after he's gone for the day, the pillows remember every note in this enchanting cologne. Definitely a winner.

  • DADDYMADE11/12/2009

It seems that after all these years, people can see the statistics ratings here. I counted over 52 ratings at 4-5 stars and only 14 at 1 star, so it seems the consensus majority rules! I love this cologne and everybody I know likes it on me!

  • CRAZY FRIEND07/29/2008

hi there i use body kouros after reviewing body kouros bord i have noticed that many ppl think that lolita smells just like body kouros so u guys think that i should try lolita or just keep on useing body kouros coz both smell the same thanks alot sorry for bad english

  • J.RIV11/27/2007

This is a very sweet fragrance KIND of cloying, but if worn moderately lasts long AND okay sillage. Licorice is in here like crazy too.. But they do it well. I still like Rochas Man better though.

  • SB11/12/2007

This is a really nice fragrance! It smells so good, i find other male fragrances to me quite dull, but this is very unique. I have recieved lots of comments when wearing it, and it stays on me all day. It´s a little too heavy to wear for the warm seasons, so I tried the fresh version, hoping i would find a nice summer fragrance. I was wrong. It smelled like soap and vanilla mixed together, it smelled really bad and gave me a headache. Though the fresh version was a failure, I still love the original, I´m gonna keep wearing it for the cool seasons. Top score!! P.S. I hope Lolita Lempicka will make a male version of L de Lolita Lempicka, which I think is a very nice perfume:)

  • RYAN11/02/2007

I love this fragrance! It's easily in my top ten list, and the sad thing is I haven't grabbed for my bottle of it in a long time. I do have to say, yes, the licorice note is there, but its very sexy. The funny thing is I hate black licorice, won't eat it and won't drink Jager because it tastes like black licorice, but I LOVE this scent. I'll agree with everyone here that it is a love or hate scent, but I will say it is definitely a mysterious woody scent. Definitely for guys who like the more European smelling scents, and not for the guys who like the generic aquatic-citrus concoctions that come from the United States.

  • BARBARA W09/21/2007

Eric's right - if you don't like licorice, don't even bother with this one. An old boyfriend of mine wore this very well, but it's not for everyone. Definitely unique and long-lasting.

  • ERIC07/12/2007

Perhaps I must be one of the ones in the study who can't take licorice or anise. I literally retch when I smell this fragrance and it's the anise in the fragrance that makes me do so. If it weren't for the licorice in it I'd probably be able to enjoy it but it's a lost cause with me and many others it seems.

  • SNAPSTAR07/12/2007

powdery licorice scent without too much substance, longlasting but very girly and average

  • TONYGIO03/30/2007

Hey there, no I haven't tried blue sugar yet, but I'm sure I will soon enough. Just checked it out on this site and it sounds delicious! (can I put it in my coffee too?) :) thanks Jenna...happy sniffing to you....

  • JENNA03/26/2007

Thanks for the kind words. Have you tried "Blue Sugar"(for men) by aquolina? It has some nice anise also but it is sweeter than Lolita. I enjoy it a lot as well. Give it a whirl and let me know what you think.

  • TONYGIO03/24/2007

Thanks for the input! - perhaps you have helped to explain why I have always liked this fragrance more for myself rather than for others to smell. And yes too- I have always thought that I'd love to catch an intimate whiff of this on a woman also...just to see. I guess for me that does give this a potential to be a unisex fragrance... as you obviously feel too! Anyway, thanks again Jenna..take care...

  • JENNA03/13/2007

I find it ironic that this fragrance is for men to wear because in studies it was proven that MEN are attracted to licorice scent second only to pumpkin pie. I wore the womens version for years but grew tired and bored with it. Now,I wear the mens and get a lot of compliments from....you guessed it...MEN. So ironic!!! I like the mens better because it has a stronger licorice(anise)note and it has a muskier drydown. So on that note, everyone (men&women) enjoy!!

  • TONYGIO12/25/2006

Apparently this is one of those love it or hate it scents, and for me this is definitely a great one. Of course as a man a main goal of wearing a fragrance is to attract the attention of women, and I think this one is sure to do that. But also, this is the one that I wear for me...even when I know nobody else will be smelling it... it's just that good. A very special fragrance here people...(don't let the name or the packaging scare you away!)

  • KELLY11/15/2006

I loved this cologne the first time I ever smelled it. My friend was wearing it when I picked him up for work. I sure didn't want to take him to work, but home with me instead.

  • JB10/24/2006

I received this as a gift. I wore it once and didnt like it. It made me nauseous and gave me a headache. When I had this cologne on my Dad asked me if I'd been drinking Ouzo, that I reeked like I had drank a whole bottle of it. For those who may not know, Ouzo is a Greek anise-flavored liqueur, and this cologne smells VERY much like it.

  • ALCHIMIE08/10/2006

Bought this for my bf because he's crazy bout colognes just like I am bout the perfumes... Smells sooooo sexy on him, God was brilliant to purchase it for him! I didn't evenknow if he'd like it or if it would work out with his chemistry... but my Lord, it was incredible... I was all over him all night long!

  • KISTEN07/30/2006

It's amazing. Seriously. I don't know what the people who don't like it are talking about. Buy this one. (^_^)

  • DADDYMADE06/17/2006

This has been the ONLY cologne I have ever worn that I got numerous compliments on.

  • KATHERINE06/15/2006

Is too many things. Way too many. If it weren't for the licorice I could maybe take it but the licorice in it turns my stomach sick. Not for everybody that's for certain.

  • ONG-BAK04/22/2006

Unusual and rather sweet-woodsy fragrance seems to attract some positive attention from women out there, just don't overapply. Bottle is an interesting design.

  • J04/15/2006

This gotta be the best sweet oriental fragrance targeted at men. It isn't absolutely heavy like Joop! is as the licorice note is sweet yet fresh and minty. So overall creates a beautiful harmony. I just love it in winter!

  • STU01/11/2006

Heaven help us. To suggest it smells like Angel makes me want to take Benadryl. Angel is violently horrible. This is a close third in my opinion. This would have been nice except for the nasty licorice note. The other notes are nice except for that one note. Therefore, I can't wear this one. Angel though, it's a sin all in a class of its own.

  • TONY T12/14/2005

very similiar to a*men, rochas man, hanae mori and very irresistible except for the licorice note which stands out for 5-10 minutes and then vanishes. out of the gourmand just ridicuosly sweet scents i prefer very irresistible but will not purchase because i just got angel a*men about 2 months ago. to save a few bucks get this instead.

  • NOSYDEADKITTY12/12/2005

I rate this as excellent. I bought some for my Dad for christmas about 2 years ago & loved it...so did my mum. I also love the womens version but prefer the mens as it is not as sweet. Have just oredered another bottle for my Mum to give to Dad this christmas..I'm sure he will lbe over the moon...he too says it attracts a lot of female attention and hes 65! Theres a small problem you never see it anywhere in the Town where i live...so I am very pleased i have found perfume emporium

  • JULIAN C. STRATUSON10/12/2005

With all the unique notes in it, I thought I'd be in for a surprise but I was dead wrong. This one is annoyingly sweet, seems awfully feminine and too musky on my skin.

  • JOSH08/01/2005

It's one of the sweetest male cologne out there that smells really sugary and yummy. I personally dislike Joop! pour homme as that ne tries to be sweet yet somehow masculine and it ends up smelling just awful. This however, is perhaps just tad more fresher than joop! type of oriental sweet scent hence it is much nicer and is the perfect choice for winter! As this scent is strong, I do get noticed often wearing this one. It's pretty loud and I love it.

  • JJ07/27/2005

I heard from someone this smells really sweet and I love sweet fragrances and not to mention there aren't that many around for 'men' and I tried it on paper. The first impression was it was nice and sweet, but a bit too heavy. So it had been on my wishlist for quite a long time. Winter came and I was getting tired of light scents that gets lost in the wind in few minutes and then I was reminded of the heavy and heady sweet fragrance I tried ages ago. I ended up buying it as it was just so warm and sweet. The top note is still heavy but as it dries down, the base is really nice and not as heavy making it perfect for cold days. It is nearly identical to the female one, and if you liked that one now you can get it for yourself proudly as it is marketed for men!

  • ERIC05/26/2005

Maybe this time you started showering before applying cologne and this is why the compliments. This is one horrible creation. Smells like those black jelly beans nobody ever ate in the Easter basket. Can't imagine spraying this on my person. I sprayed in on a card and gagged. This ranks up there with Angel Amen and Michael Kors as the three horrors of the Millenium.

  • DADDYMADE05/03/2005

I have had so many compliments whenever I wear this! It is the only cologne EVER that attracts a response.

  • SCORPION04/28/2005

I find that this scent fits the scorpion personality best. It's unique, dogmatic and unapologetically strong. You either love it or your hate it which is apropos. But if you love the scent it will love you back and vice versa!

  • ADAM03/03/2005

I have to say that this may be a headache to some people but the effects it has on most when is worth the headache. Many girls have liked it and actually wanted to sit by me in lectures to smell me. I know where Ignition its pretty good but I think I am going to go back to LL.

  • SUZANNE01/07/2005

I am amongst the fans of this fragrance. I find the licorice and ivy to be haunting and dreamlike. The musky drydown is to die for! This fragrance, surprisingly, is reminiscent of Serge Luten's Chergui. I am a woman and this will be one of my new favorite scents. (I have the regular LL also, but it has gotten a bit sweet for me - I think I prefer this version now!~)

  • SHARRIE12/21/2004

a masterpiece. turns my senses on. manly. bold.a dream catcher. true gold. awesome.

  • COLOGNE GUY11/12/2004

this fragrance smells very similar to Le Male, especially on me. I prefer Le Male better!

  • PERFUMEGIRL11/03/2004

I am a HUGE fragrance junkie -- literally have over 300 perfumes/colognes. This is one of my favorites, hands down. I am going to need to buy a new 3.4 oz bottle soon! My other favorites tend toward Serge Lutens and L'Artisan (e.g. Dzing). For some reason, I can wear men's cologne and they smell feminine on me -- Drakkar Noir even takes on a different tone on me than on my boyfriend -- such are the mysteries of chemisry. Anyway, LL for men is more sophisticated, in my opinion, than LL for women (which is unique and licorice-tinged, but rather sweet). Thank Perfume Emporium for an excellent description of the fragrances notes in LL Au Masculine; if you don't like black jelly beans, stay away! For those of us who savor the black jelly beans most of all, and are looking for something both interesting and appropriate for daytime wear, this is perfect!

  • W.B.10/18/2004

DISREGARD THE PREVIOUS MESSAGE: I MEANT FOR YOU TO DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN THIS AND CASUAL FRIDAY BY ESCADA. AGAIN, I APPRECIATE YOUR REPLY ON THIS MESSAGE.

  • W.B.10/18/2004

ONE MORE QUESTION: IS THIS SIMILAR TO LOLITA LEMPICKA EAU MASCULIN BY ANY CHANCE? WHEN YOU POST BACK, CAN YOU MAKE A COMPARISON WHEN YOU GET A CHANCE?

  • ROB H.10/15/2004

Thanks for the feedback fellow cologne masters, W.B. & R.J.. I'll get back to you when I sample Michael by MK and resample Angel. Toni Finish, I welcome you as another cologne master and would like to know what you think of this if you ever get around to this message and sampling this scent.

  • R.J.10/13/2004

I SEE THAT THERE ARE VERY MIXED REVIEWS ON THIS COLOGNE. THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT IT COMES DOWN TO TWO THINGS: PREFERENCE AND BODY CHEMISTRY. SOME PEOPLE MAY HAVE A PREFERENCE FOR FRUITY SCENTS; OTHERS FOR WOODY SCENTS; AND SO FORTH. I GUESS THAT SOME PEOPLE DON'T REALLY TAKE A LIKING TO LICORICE BEING IN THIS SCENT AND SOME DO, SO TO EACH IS OWN. THEN THE LICORICE NOTE MAY SMELL BETTER ON SOME THAN OTHERS, SO YOU DO HAVE TO TEST ON YOUR SKIN BEFORE BUYING THIS OR ANY COLOGNE. ANYWAY, THAT JUST MY TWO CENTS FOR NOW. TAKE CARE.

  • W.B.10/13/2004

I SEE THAT THIS, ANGEL, AND MICHAEL KORS GOT SOME OF THE WORST REVIEWS ON THIS SITE. I WOULD LIKE TO DO A COMPARISON BETWEEN THE THREE TO SEE WHICH IS THE BEST. I WOULD APPRECIATE A REPLY. THANKS.

  • CHRIS R.10/06/2004

Most of the colognes on this site get a mix of ratings, but Lolita Lempicka has a polar blend of love it/hate it reviews. The negative ones target a licorice scent that I can smell during the drydown, but not afterward. The strongest note is vanilla; however, it is offset by the sweet, musky scent. This is a cleaner, smoother, much sweeter version of Pi. The worst I can say about it is, depending on the machismo of the man, it may be a tad girly. Nevertheless, that is seldom a negative to the women whiffing it. It's a great scent.

  • ROB H.10/02/2004

When I first received a sample of this with a cologne order a couple of months ago in the mail, it didn't smell bad at all. But when applied to the skin and the drydown taking effect, the women didn't compliment me like they have with my current selections in my collection. This particular scent appears to be very selective on different mens' skin judging by the number of "excellent" ratings and "horrible" ratings posted. On me it's just average. Let's see what W.B. and/or R.J. have to say.

  • MO09/26/2004

For those who despise this scent , I honestly can say that they have no taste of anything special. Au masculin is definetly a special scent. It is a great orienta-sweet scent with notes lingering long enough to bedazzle any woman around. But to those guys who are the average Joe wearing coolwater, drakkar polo sport etc, you definelty are all missing out.....

  • AMY08/20/2004

I can honestly say that this one drives me CRAZY! My hubby wears this and it is a definate turn on. It lasts on him all day. Guys, if you want a scent that is sure to get a gals attention....this one is it. And Lolita for women is pretty darn good too!

  • MALEVA05/21/2004

I personally love the smell of Lolita Lempicka Masculin (I'm a woman) although I can see how not many men would wear it. It is not a typical men's cologne smell, and like black licorice candy, you either love it or hate it. I will also note that once I wore it on my own wrists and my cat had a reaction to it like catnip! She went crazy rubbing against me, purring, and rolling on the floor! I would love to buy it for my boyfriend but I'm afraid he would think it wasn't a macho enough cologne...

  • STU03/24/2004

The best time to wear this . . . never. It's awful and I am repelled by the smell.

  • PROMETHEUS03/03/2004

Initially its scent is very strong, licorice-based. But after a few minutes it calms down and turns into a divine and luxurious fragrance that stays for a day. Excellent stuff.

  • DANNY01/15/2004

WILL BE MY SIGNATURE CENT AFTER LONG SEARCH. JUST PERFECT , LONG LASTING ON ME, AT LEAST 12 HRS. 10 STARS

  • SYLVIE01/03/2004

I adore this scent. Sexy on men or women!! OUTSTANDING fragrance! "Love it or hate it"- scent. Only the name "Lolita" is "strange" for a mens perfume. One of the best perfumes in the last years. Rate this product: Very, very excellent. Yummy. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2004!!!!

  • JEFF12/28/2003

This is a scent for a man? Guys actually wear this? Your joking, right? Smells like something put together at Willie Wonkas Chocolate Factory on Monday after a weekend bender.........

  • DADDYMADE12/18/2003

This is the only cologne I have ever worn that has gotten rave reviews from the people I meet. I am always stopped and asked what cologne is it! They love it!

  • BARBARA 12/09/2003

I adore Lolita on my man...can't get enough of it! Wear it when you want to seduce a woman...but not to the office! Try Acqua di Gio for daytime.

  • LINDA10/23/2003

I love LL. It is such an enjoyable fragrance. And it lasts. And the bottle is worth the price of the perfume! I only use it for special, not formal, occasions.

  • CHRISSY09/02/2003

I just recently got the opportunity to smell it...and I have to admit, it smells absolutely delicious. You cannot forget this scent, nor the memories that go along with it.

  • JAY07/31/2003

I like this for about 1 minute...it's smell gave me a headache..definitely and acquired taste... proceed with caution

  • SMICKMA07/09/2003

Of course the top notes aren't what you are looking for! you cant just spray a card and whiff this... you must wear it for a day - you'll see.. the drydown is magnificent

  • KENNY07/08/2003

If you want to be remembered by your smell, you should definietly wear this. Everybody ask me what I'm wearing, everywhere I go. They just love it. A little strong, but excellent to wear when you go out at night.

  • ERIC07/02/2003

Yes it does smell like black licorice. I hate the candy and the fragrance. It's cloying and strong similar to Michael Kors.

  • MARCUS06/09/2003

love the smell, smells like black licorice very sweet always asked what im wearing

  • AJ06/04/2003

I was kind of iffy about this one because the bottle is wierd. once this settles down on the body it is a sure shot. it will separate you from those walgreens and rite-aid cologne crowd!

  • JEAN02/03/2003

    Ewwwww.

  • RICK01/30/2003

This is deffinitely a mood-bumper! One of the best perfumes ever!

  • JOE01/14/2003

Not for everyone, but once this fragrance settles down the heavy licorice note dies down and it is very pleasant and long-lasting.

  • CHARLES10/19/2002

I wish I could say I liked this fragrance. Try I did, but it doesn't do it for me. I gave it away to someone who decided not to use it either. Hopefully you can use this stuff like hydrogen peroxide if you cut yourself shaving or something, other than than I would never actually want to smell like licorice.

  • SOPHIE10/10/2002

I like this scent so much, and I use it for me too. Lovely

  • DADDYMADE10/09/2002

This is the ONLY men's cologne I have ever received compliments on!

  • VERONICA09/19/2002

Is there poison ivy in this? It smells like it must. I don't like it in any event. The distinct licorice and ivy notes just simply add to the horror.

  • RITA09/03/2002

I find the licorice and other notes in this fragrance uncommonly distasteful as do most others it seems. Definitely try this abhorrent fragrance on at a store and don't buy from the internet. You may be sorry if you do.

  • CONSUMER09/01/2002

i absolutely love this scent. i have a feeling that its distinctive licorice & ivy notes are too uncommon for some reviewers. the men's scent is quite warm and sweet -- i am a woman and like to wear it. i recommend trying it on if possible first. weird name, delicious scent!

  • RAQUEL08/29/2002

I'd like to start a bonfire and burn all the bottles of this nasty smelling stuff. Spinal fluid probably smells better. Ms. Lempicka must have created this trash under the influence of drugs. Keep it away from me.

  • MAURICIO08/27/2002

People, use an anti-gas mask if you open the bottle

  • STASH08/27/2002

Horrible. I'm getting nauseated just thinking about this stuff. I can't imagine anyone really liking this gross creation, at least noone I would care to know.

  • SUSAN08/26/2002

Marius doesn't get out much since he thinks this is the best ever. The fragrance smells way too much like black licorice (not lickorice). I wouldn't lick anyone with this garbage on.

  • MONICA08/17/2002

Whenever I smell this on a guy, I want to eat him up! It does have a strong licorice note, so if you don't like licorice, you won't like this fragrance. But personally, whenever I smell this on a guy, I can't get enough of him. Yummy!

  • MARLENE08/15/2002

I wouldn't lick you with this stuff on. It is a repugnant scent.

  • JIM SAM08/15/2002

NO WAY. IT' SUCKS MY FRIENDS !

  • MARIUS07/31/2002

U may not like it but girls adore it. They start to lick me when I put on L.L. au Masculin. And it stays forever. A really good fragrance.

  • STUART07/22/2002

Makes you smell like a box of Good and Plenty. I never cared for Good and Plenty licorice and always left the licorice jellybeans in the easter basket. This don't do it for me - nasty. Others of course will disagree. The next fragrance by Lolita may just smell like the yellow Easter peeps.

  • JOLLY07/13/2002

Maybe some women find it nice but overall its a mediocre class perfume.

  • MITIC SASA07/04/2002

your parfume "au masculin" is excellent

  • LEE06/30/2002

For the right time, for the right women and for the right sensuous response, I use it -- and, with good success. Add it to your inventory of scents.

  • RJC06/23/2002

Brian, you are right! It is nasty smelling. I've seen better (Old Spice or anything) in a grocery store.

  • ERIC05/16/2002

Gotta disagree with Mr. Brian. While not my favorite I still get compliments (they're not being phony). Many women find this fragrance appealing. Perhaps its just your body chemistry, since there is really nothing wrong with this fragrance. Some things are just not for some people.

  • BRIAN05/14/2002

This stuff is TERRIBLE. I thought Angel sucked then I smelled this. WHAT THE #$@$ is this stuff? Smells like rotton eggs and black licorice. I think it is made with black licorice I heard. It is a joke!. Chicks will not only turn you down they may have you arrested for smelling like a bum!

  • RACHEL04/18/2002

This is a fragrance that smells like dessert, but is still masculine. I love it, although you do have to be careful to apply it lightly, as it is quite a strong fragrance.

  • SAMURAI04/05/2002

this product smells like excretion. initially, it makes you want to throw up. after five minutes, it tones down, but still makes you light-headed and nauseous. don't take my word for it, you need to try the prodcut to experience it for yourself- but be careful! - truly NOT something i would want to smell on my boyfriend
