My husband hasn't worn this since we married 40 years ago. It was lovely then, and is still great now. I was pleased to find it again. Bought back many memories. A very romantic smell.

couple of hours ago i tried this one in a shopping centre, O M G! this is exactly the same scent as many many car perfumes when i was a kid, and at that time i suffered serious car sickness. The smell made me feel sick even if I was not in cars when I was young, however, now, 20 years later, I still wanna throw out from the very moment the scent reach into my nose. horribly horrible!

disagree totally with previous negative comment. Pino Sylvester is still made by the original Italian family. It is not expensive compared to other mens products and its ingredients are pure inc pine. The smell lingers and is wonderful. The girls seem to be attracted by it too. Sadly difficult to find in EU except Italy of course

I bought the gift set - with the showergel/shampoo & eau de toilette - the gell is very piney & nice, balsamic like the species Pinus Silvestrus- european black pine... I believe I like both but the more antique smelling eau de toilette reminds me of the basque mountain men of the Sierra Nevada - I know this is very popular with traditional latin & italian men, with understates taste & style & as much money as good looks; but It makes me feel a little older & more dated than I'd like- (say -before I turn 50) What with all the bogus "aroma therapy" crap that abounds ad nauseaum - a simple pure pine oil would suit me just fine (or true oil of rosemary with un peu true lavender) by the way - for the classic essential men's parfumeries I think are best evidenced in just about anything Guerlain makes for men. Or Dunhill - Vetiver Guerlain being the crispest & cleanest - & always evocative I have had people mill by & return over & over - sampling the air with a blissful look before finally being able to locate or enquire - smells very expensive & old european.(& is) - very daytime but for evening - Habit Rouge-which incidentally is very unisex or Eau de Guerlain. Better for Opera or symphony or intimate dancing than dinner of course. By the way..... Does anyone know where to get Braggi for Men? - write me at [email protected]

I have had tons of different aftershaves over the past 25 years. pino is the only one where i get regular comments and enquierys as to what scent i am wearin. unfortunatly it is becoming more difficult to find in the shops.

Forget the outdoors. This one smells somewhere between a damp rug , a moldy crypt and cheap church incense. Other than that , it's terrific :)

Pino Silvestre is used by many Vatican employees here in Rome. I imagine it's not considered to be sexy on account of its soap clean qualities and venerable age (Golden jubilee 2005). The emblem of the pine cone curiosly appears on Cardinals' mitres!

there are better choices in woodsy scents. smells like chewing gum

  • CRYSTALL02/01/2003

Every woman I know who has smelled this stuff says it is really heady...that's good guys. However, the original scent IS better. But this one still has the secret ingredient that makes me want to get close.

  • DOUG07/18/2002

I agree with those who say it sucks to a point. When you first spray it on it really reaks but after about 10+ minutes, it get really good.

  • RON C.06/22/2002

    THIS STUFF TOTALLY SUCKS!!!!!

  • ZEUS05/24/2002

This stuff sucks for about the first 5-10 min after spraying it on but after that amount of time, it starts to settle in and is rather pleasing to the senses.

  • PAUL03/20/2002

    nice alternative to musky scents

  • LIZ CHRISTY10/30/2001

I am looking for Pino Sylvester aftershave in the splash bottle as my husband prefers this to the spray.

  • C. L. TIZSO10/29/2001

I have both the original, and the more recent, more "pine-y" version. But the original, while slightly better, is more lush and smoother, yet almost a soap clean scent.
