  • ROSALEEN08/12/2012

I've been allergic to perfume for about fifteen years but the last perfume I used and loved was Sun, Moon and Stars. So I bought some recently to see if I could handle it and whether I still actually liked the scent. Unfortunately, I couldn't tolerate the perfume but still absolutely loved the scent, so I will wait until the body cream is avaiable and get that.

  • JOANN04/05/2012

I used this for years and J L Hudsons stopped selling it and could'tfind it. I am glad that I got reunited wih it again. Love the smell.

  • WENDY03/28/2011

one of the only perfumes i can use it lasts all night love it great smell end always get told i smell great when on

  • PATRICE08/03/2010

I only wear two kinds of perfume,Estee Lauder White Linen and Sun,Moon&Stars. I was disappointed when they discontinued this fragrance. I was so happy when my nephew sent me the link to this website.

  • RUBY02/15/2010

I this in the store and the smell was so intoxicatingI had to go back and buy it. Unfortunately, I seem to be allergic to something in it, and get asthma every time I wear it.

  • CURLS10/01/2009

I love Sun Moon & Stars. I've worn it since it came out and I still get so many compliments from male and female! The only other fragrance I wore was the "ORIGINAL" DNA which they discontinued. Sun Moon and Stars is the only fragrance I will buy now. It smells beautiful and feminine. Not too strong and not that awful sweet smell.

  • TRISH01/30/2009

Every time I wear this fragrance, males always ask what it is and tell me I smell great!

  • CHEE-CHEE01/25/2009

my mother use to wear this when it dirst came out. and it made me terribly sick i can NOT stand it!

  • SOMDATTA05/21/2007

Sun Moon and Stars is exotic and unusual. It's not too heavy - which makes it ideal for wearing it to work, and certainly not too sickly sweet. I find this a very elegant and chic smell, and very very well balanced. I dont like fruity smells, yet there is a hint of fruit and floral in this - yet, at the same time, it's complex enough to be sophisticated. Wear this if you like individualistic scents, and want something feminine, distinctive but not overtly sweet, fruity, sporty or airy. When worn in summer evenings, it can be surprisingly evocative and sexy - in a high-spirited, bold and flirtatious way, not in an overpowering, seductive manner( You may need Chloe narcisse or Rumba or Animale Animale or Poison or Poeme for that!) Anyone of any age can wear it, so long as the person likes a non-girly, unusual, classy smell. It has an understated, sensitive feel to it. It also smells a little 'European'. It's moderately long lasting - you may need another spray to layer it in the evening - versatile enough for office and romantic wear.

  • DEBORAH MARIE04/21/2007

I have worn this fragrance for years and am ALWAYS getting compliments...especially when I wear it on a summers night out!

  • GREEKGIRL04/02/2007

Hello Judy, thanks for making me feel a little better i still cant get into this frag as much as i try, but the funny thing is i dont think my hubby likes it either cos he never comments when i wear it (he did purchase it unsniffed) but maybe he thinks i like it and dosnt want to upset me (if only he knew ha ha) i think ill stick to my favs from now on, i dont think i can handle wearing it any longer, anyway ive seen you on the Jungle Elephant site, isnt it a sexy frag! in my top ten, that one i will enjoy a lot more and hubby enjoys it too so i dont think hell mind at all, see ya and thanks, Helen. p.s. Elephant also reminds me of Indecence which i also love and has been discontinued, at least we have Elephant!

  • JUDI W*03/27/2007

I had high hopes for this one, cool name, and bottle, but it did nothing for me either. It's not bad, but wouldn't buy it either. I can understand you feel conflicted because your husband bought it for you, with love and you feel emotionally obligated to wear it & enjoy it. Wear it for him, when you go out romantically together & everyday wear what you like. Problem solved...lol...

  • GREEKGIRL03/15/2007

I really tried to like this frag but i just dont like it for some reason, every week i try it on again(cos i have a lot of frags)but nothing changes, i wish i did like something about it cos my hubby bought this for me as a set, but i try and i try and i try and i try........................

  • CLASSIQUE02/16/2007

I just bought it and what I love about it is that it changes all the time as Your day goes on. First it opens up with those orange, tangerine refreshing notes. Then after 15-20 mins You can smell it's heart made of jasmine and pineapple. Very sophisticated. But it's drydown is what matters at the most to me: very woody n little bit oriental drydown. So as refreshing and feminine as it is, it's base contains a very powerful weapon: woods!!!

  • LE NEZ02/08/2007

Like a winter flower bouquet, this stirs memories of forgotten lovers and half remembered dreams. Celestial like the name implies, a good bedtime scent

  • SANDRADEE10/18/2006

I'll admit it is not my favorite, yet It's the one I get the most compliments from. I'm often asked for it's name by both male and females.

  • IRINA09/29/2006

I really wanted to like this one, because KL by Lagerfeld has always been my favorite and I hoped for great things from SMS as well. But I might as well wear nothing at all--as soon as it dries on my skin, it disappears into a faint bubble-gummy smell. It's not unpleasant, just too flowery and simplistic and light. It's a scent for young girls, very unsophisticated.

  • STEPHANIE09/22/2006

It's a very womanly scent, you hate it or love it :) my boyfriend adores this one!

  • TANINHA BRAZIL03/19/2006

i fell in love withit in 96 ... and love it still . it is romantic , feminine and at night... it is pure magic !

  • SYLVIE12/22/2005

Dear Vintagescents! Thanks for reading my review and your charming response. Little girls or kids are very good and serious "experts" when it comes to perfume-testing. They are objectiv, honest and innocent in their judgements. Greetings from Germany, Sylvie.

  • VINTAGESCENTS12/19/2005

I love this and agree with just about everything Sylvie posted, except that, unlike Sylvie, I loved SMS from first sniff. Sylvie is spot on when it comes to the beauties that Grosjman has created through the years. This is interesting. I know a beautiful and intelligent young gal, just turned 13, who recently tried SMS. She fell in love with it. Sylvie is again spot on---SMS is for those of us who might be a bit long in the tooth and for the very young as well. Brava, Ms Grosjman!! And Brava, Sylvie, too!

  • SYLVIE12/15/2005

I'm a huge fan of Sophia Grojsman, a great and successful perfumer. She created many beautiful perfumes, which I adore. Her fragrances are pure feminity: Paris, Eternity, Tresor, Yvresse/Champagne, Jaipur, SUN MOON STARS etc. etc. All her fragrances smell delicious(!) fruity-soft, warm and womanly. Timeless, classy and unique fragrance-beauties for young and "old" women!! Her perfume-creations are a dream/imagination of a wonderful, irresistible woman: Inviting, alluring, elegant, graceful, vulnerable, warm and sensual. When Sun Moon Stars came out in 1994, I was not very enthusiastic of its smell. But now, over 10 years later, I revisited this fragrance, and like it from the first sniff :)) - I can smell a similarity to CHLOE Narcisse, both fragrances by Karl Lagerfeld.

  • AMETHYSTSKYE11/28/2005

This is a great fragrance, but I wish I could get bath gel, lotion, and powder to go with it.

  • SUE C11/12/2005

This fragrance is a very nice fruity-floral with a soft powdery finish. It was created by Sophia Grosjman who also created Lalique, Eternity, Paris, Jaipur, Yvresse, Tresor & other top sellers. The notes are: top: freesia, water lily, rose; middle: heliotrope, jasmine, orange blossom & narcissus; lower: sandalwood, amber & musk. Love the bottle too.

  • DOMINIQUE11/07/2005

Sun Moon Stars is a very nice, warm scent and is not only easily found on the web, but is also very inexpensive. I like it. It does remind me in ways of Eternity, but whereas I cannot wear CK's Eternity, I can easily wear SMS. SMS is like Eternity minus a few pounds!!

  • LIA09/01/2005

Sampled Sun Moon Stars today. Do notice a similarity with Eternity from Calvin Klein. But, neither is exactly my type of scent. Of course they are nice, but I prefer more powdery scents. The bottle is lovely.

  • RUTHIE07/21/2005

Hi, Jannine. The information I posted is from Jan Moran's book on fragrances as well as from ScentDirect.com in the UK. Maybe this frag is just different with your chemistry, but, honestly, I really do smell the pineapple in the opening notes, and the freesia sillage that lasts is a nice, soft freesia. This fragrance seems to not go very well with a lot of people's chemistry. There are still lots of nice frags out there, though. Happy perfumery!

  • LAVINIA07/19/2005

Have worn this fragrance for some years now and still enjoy its soft freesia sillage. It's nothing like the harsh freesia I smell in all the copycat scents nowadays. Has always reminded me of Eternity, only Sun Moon Stars is softer.

  • FRANCINE07/11/2005

Love this fragrance. It has always reminded me of CK's Eternity, and I just read recently that the same perfumer created both. SMS has a nice, soft, natural freesia note. Not that harsh freesia that seems so prevalent in all the copy-cat fragrances on the market today. It's too bad that more women don't appreciate this one, but I'll always love it.

  • JANNINE07/05/2005

Hardly any of the notes you mentioned are actually in this perfume, LOL... Here, borrow my box of coffee beans...

  • RUTHIE05/16/2005

This fragrance seems to elicit either love or hate. For me, it's love. I especially enjoy using this in the cooler months or in the evenings. It's a sophisticated, oriental-fruity type fragrance with a hint of freesia. Some perfumes overdo the freesia, but not Sun Moon Stars. The freesia is just right, and with a touch of pineapple, jasmine, and orange blossom, the fragrance rounds out very nicely. It's a sophisticated and lush scent, but not overpowering. The bottle is also quite nice, too.

  • DEL05/14/2005

Discovered Sun Moon Stars in '94 in a Dillard's in the small town where I live. Loved it then and still love it. My perfume repertoire is much larger now than it was 11 years ago, but I always make sure to keep a bottle of Sun Moon Stars in my collection. I count it as a wonderfully feminine, yet somewhat dark fragrance. Not spicy dark, but rich dark. Like dark chocolate.

  • LISA R05/09/2005

i first started wearing this perfume in 1996 then met my husband in 1997 (blind date) after a few months i changed perfumes - he noticed and commented - needless to say i switched back ;-) i like wearing different perfumes but always keep this one close by - it's the one that lured him in

  • MARY LOU04/07/2005

Love Sun, Moon, Stars. Floral with some wonderful fruity undertones. Spicy but not overbearing. Reminds me a little of Amarige, only Sun, Moon, Stars is more subtle. I'm sorry some of you ladies don't like this fragrance, but I think it's quite nice and am glad internet vendors like PerfumeEmporium stock this perfume.

  • SHARRIE03/15/2005

sun moon and stars what else do you need..perfect. very wonderful

  • PLME02/14/2005

This seems to be a fragrance very few are neutral on. Either love it or hate it. I've been using this fragrance for years and really do enjoy it. I like the opening notes as well as the drydown. Very nice.

  • LOUISE01/24/2005

Been using SMS since it was first introduced back in the mid-90s. Still love its dark overtones. Has a wonderful olfactory "texture." Like a soprano who sings alto. Sorry if you don't like it. To me it's quite wonderful. Ferre 20 is reminiscent of this fragrance, though I'd say only reminiscent and not a copy in any way. Ferre 20 is another under-known, under-appreciated fragrance that is quite nice.

  • KATZIE12/27/2004

Ugh! I wanted to like this one, but it just smells like the fragrance Kotex or Always would use for scented maxi pads ..or Charmin would use for toilet paper. This has to be one of the worst fragrances I have ever smelled (and I have sampled A LOT).

  • TISHA12/16/2004

I've loved this perfume since 1994. I haven't been able to find it locally and was told that it had been discontinued. I'm so glad to know I'll be able to purchase it online from now on!

  • HEREKITTY11/28/2004

I got this as a gift. At firt when I sprayed it on it had a strong vanilla scent then later to me it kinda took on a different scent like whisky & tobbaco I don't like that smell. I guess you could say my chemistry with this purfume don't agree. I really tried to like it. Tried it at different times same results. It does remind me of a perisan wh@#e sorry...

  • KRISTIN10/22/2004

whoa!!! Potent stuff. I would have to say this is not a great fragrance, but just my opinion.

  • CHILI-O10/12/2004

"It's like old Parisian wh*r*. Please wash it off." Is what he said. I found it quite unpleasant too. It's overpowering.

  • ANA09/23/2004

I bought my first bottle of SMS in the Autumn of '94 when the fragrance was first launched in my area. Even recvd a free umbrella with my purchase. Still love the fragrance and still have the umbrella!! The scent reminds me of Autumn, since that's when I first began to wear it. It's rich but not overpowering. SMS has always struck my nose as being akin to CK's Eternity but not as strong. I've been using this fragrance for 10 years and will continue to wear it. It is hard to find locally except for one drug store. Thankfully, it's easy to find on the internet.

  • JODIE09/07/2004

A girl I used to work with actually bathed in this stuff. I swear she wouldn't bathe for days and then wallow in this stuff to cover up her cigarette stained hair. It is so overpowering and nasty.

  • MARSHANA08/15/2004

I love this fragrance and have not be able to purchase it in area stores. I was once able to get it in a mall, at one of those crazy perfume stands in the middle of the isle for $50. I love the smell. And I agree, men do love it too. I have had many compliments.

  • MARTIE08/08/2004

I don't think this perfume is a bad smell by any means. It is just too ordinary, sweet, and very "one-dimensional" as some people describe. Very strong, a heavy floral vanilla. A bit inexpensive smelling. I tried to like it because the name and the bottle are so cool, but it just doesn't quite do it for me. Though I have smelled much worse.

  • JOJO05/09/2004

this smell is soooo heavy and spicy it smells like a total old lady perfume, but i won't even try and give it to my mom because it smells so bad! i wouldn't wish this smell on anyone!

  • MINNIE MOUSE05/02/2004

I think it's lovely in warm weather!

  • MINNIE MOUSE05/02/2004

At first, it has a very fruity and, as someone described earlier, bubble-gum smell. However, the dry-down is my favorite. It's very powdery and clean, almost like a fabric softener. I guess it;s good if you're into muskier, powdery scents. I happen to love them, and I love this.

  • LISA03/24/2004

I wasn't all that familiar w/ this and then heard recommendations. It's very pretty, feminine and smells original. Not heavy at all. Great!

  • SUSIE12/19/2003

This is by far the best perfume I have tried, it isn't to strong, and I get alot of compliments when I wear it!!!

  • ANDREW 12/14/2003

I fell into loving this scent some years ago. When I find a women who makes rush in me that magic spark we all seek I give this as a first gift. I love how polarized the opinios are, there are two types of people.....right and wrong. As to their scent; they are represented through average and magick.

  • KRYS12/01/2003

i bought this after smelling it in a magazine; unfortunately, i did not try it on first. in the bottle it seems nice and smooth, but on it seems very chemically. Some others that i do like and would recommend are: flower (kenzo), burberry london, angel, libertine, hanae mori butterfly and dream angels heavenly.

  • JANNINE09/14/2003

To all the naysayers, I've gotta tell you this perfume is an underground modern classic. It is probably too strong and unique to smell good on everyone, but on myself and some of my friends it is beautiful, sultry and so distinctive! It is definitely meant to be worn on a midnight rendezvous. The jasmine really stands out and is magical and mysterious with musk. I have never stopped loving it. Only a lover of average, trendy light florals would say it smells "WEIRD", because in truth, all really good and unique scents will smell weird to the very young and the pedestrian types.

  • TANIKA09/13/2003

When I was just a young girl, I stole this out of my mother's makeup bag to use. I wanted to feel older. That rancid smell made me feel like I was 89. A few weeks later, my mother was using it for the bathroom to cover up the smell of feces after the family took dumps in the toilet. It made the stench increase tenfold. This odor lingers FOREVER. This perfume is not good for any purpose whatsoever. (Except teaching small children to stay out of their parent's belongings.)

  • MURKI05/22/2003

Wore it a bit, then tossed it out. Changed as the day wore on, for the worse.

  • STACEY04/11/2003

love it. have been wearing it for years. always get compliments on it.

  • BRITTNEE02/26/2003

This perfume is way too powdery overpoweringly sweet. It has a strange musk to it. I bought a small vial of it because liked it on paper, but gives me headaches. I tried to use it as car freshener just because I didn't want to toss it, but it is even worse when it gets in the heat. I think it changes or something.

  • ELEASE FOWLER11/25/2002

I would like to purchase body lotion and shower gel. Also, what is the shelf life of this product?

  • ASCHATAN10/13/2002

Sun Moon & Stars smells very very sweet, with a touch of bubblegum. It also reminds me of Tiaré body oil, exotic and sensual. I want to try it as an alternative to Laura Biagiotti's Sotto Voce, which smells similarly sugar sweet, and which I can't get any longer.

  • PAKSALTO09/16/2002

I have used this particular scent exclusively for three years. I always get compliments - and my 10 yr. old daughter loves it so much she wanted a mini-bottle just so she could smell pretty like me! I'm very allergic to everything(!) - never had a problem with Sun Moon & Stars!

  • CHYPREGIRL08/13/2002

1st whiff: eeewwwwww! 2nd whiff: EEEWWWWWW!!!!!

  • NANCY07/30/2002

Nice fresh scent. I like it.

  • BEA07/30/2002

My husband gets very turned on every time I wear this sent. I make sure to put it on when we go out. Other men have complimented me on this scent as well.

  • TATIANA07/18/2002

creamy, soft, vanilic.. I simply love it. My husband though likes it only when it dries down.

  • 2010WOMAN07/11/2002

I don't care for this one at all. Normally when I don't like a scent I can still see it's unique beauty and still appreciate it, perhaps on someone else. But this just smells like Raid. I don't think I would like this on any person. I must say I expected more from Karl Lagerfeld. I think when this came out it was one of those trendy scents that are meant to go away after 10 years. Hopefully, this one will bite the dust soon and Lagerfeld can drop his fan and show his face again.

  • BETHANY07/10/2002

Loved the name of this perfume-beautiful,romantic name. Also thought the bottle was cool. I tried/tested this perfume on more than one occasion in the stores (Occasionally you do get a bad Tester) The results were always the same:A funky smell, can't quite put my finger on it; smelled like something went bad, wasn't fresh-whatever-not for me.

  • SIENNA06/26/2002

Nope, this one did not smell good, no matter how I tried to tweak my nose. . . cute name, cute bottle, bad smell. I can't describe it- just like something my neighbors would wear to replace their patchouli oil. . . bitter, putrid. Yuk!

  • 2CATSLADY06/07/2002

An individual scent that is one of my favorites and IS my husband's favorites. I receive lots of compliments even from strangers!

  • STEPHANIE05/23/2002

One of my least favorites of all time. It just smells weird...that's all I can say about it.

  • LISA05/16/2002

i loved chloe but found this far too sweet and sickly

  • GINGER SPICE04/07/2002

bought one coulple months ago and it has been on my vanity holding space for some time now. sometimes i do give it a try just to see if i feel the same way about it and unfortunately nothing has changed.

  • KEBE04/03/2002

i just purchased a beautiful bottle of sun moon & stars, and i love it. it doesnt choke me or others with it's strength, it's just strong enough!

  • ELLEN03/01/2002

This fragrance is, of the many I wear, the only one that everyone makes a comment on. Its become my scent.

  • SUSIE02/09/2002

This perfume has such a wonderful scent, and the bottle is beautiful also, I've even started collecting them!

  • POLLY01/24/2002

But why do I always feel like I am wearing Heaven Sent? Remember that drugstore counter cologne that was popular in the 70's? I probably would not have bought it myself.. it was a gift. I normally only wear it during the day. It just doesn't do much for me when I'm planning on being close to that special someone.

  • CHARUL01/22/2002

I must say this really makes your someone special drool over you. It is so exotic!

  • PAGE12/18/2001

I have wore this perfume since highschool and hate that stores have quit selling it. I hope it never becomes destinct because,I can't live without it.

  • DONNA12/13/2001

I LOVE THIS STUFF,I'VE TOLD SEVERAL PEOPLE ABOUT IT AND TOLD THEM YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE IT.I ALSO COLLECT SUN,MOON,AND STARS NOVELTYS.JUST GOTTA HAVE IT.

  • DONNA11/13/2001

Just the greatest. I've bought about 500 bottles of this since it came out. Also the talc, gel and lotion. SO GOOD

  • TAMMY09/24/2001

this perfume is my favorite, it takes me to a place of sweet memories....

  • CATARINA08/23/2001

    Smells like toothpaste!

  • ELISHA07/28/2001

This is one great fragrance that is comparable to more expensive ones. A great deal on a great perfume.

  • LORI05/03/2001

Sun Moon Stars is a beautiful fragrance in a lovely bottle. It evokes feelings of romance, mystery, and enchantment. A lovely gift for a lady.

  • SHARON03/10/2001

My opinion is that this perfume is about one of the best that I have ever smelled.

  • PRECIOUS09/28/2000

I'm looking for the bath gel and body lotion to go with my Sun Moon $ Stars. Does anyone have an idea where I can find some? [email protected] Thanks
