Samba Red? Does anyone know if they are similar or not? Another perfume I have that I am wondering if this is similar to is Euphoria by CK. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks. Cheers!

I bought *Paul Smith London* unsniffed. Big mistake - the fragrance is not for me. - Please try before you buy. I'am not thrilled. Too modern, synthetic, artificial, and "cheap" smelling. A so-so-fragrance. They put to many things together in this concoction. I miss character, uniqueness and depth. Hello perfume-industry: Where are the expensive, rare ingredients to smell complexity!!!!???? I'm an old lady over *50* and have a classic taste. So many of the new fragrances these days are not pleasant and satisfying for my nose. Blah. When will I learn?

  • Hi, Helen, Have you tried Missoni yet? It is on this website. I think you might like it. It is very complex, fruity, chocolatey, and woodsy. I love it. You might also like to try Donna Karan's Gold, also on this list. It is a floral, but features lilly. I think it is incredible. Looking forward to hearing your comments.

Hi, Helen. I will try both London and Ruby Lips and let you know how I like them. In the meantime, you can email me at [email protected] so we can start a discussion group on fragrances. I think it is badly needed by those of us who can't get enough of them. In the meantime, try Missoni and DKNY Gold and let me know what you think.

Hi, Helen. I really appreciate your answers to my never-ending questions regarding fragrances. I will certainly try this one, after being assured that it does not smell like Angel. I visited a candy factory in Dallas with my son's kindergarten class. They manufactured Mounds and Almond Joy candy bars. Angel smells just like that candy factory. By the time the tour was over, I was absolutely turned off by the smell of candy. I did notice, however, that there was not one over-weight person working there. We all need to start a discussion group on Yahoo. Email me and we'll get started. I know that there are loads of perfume addicts on this website and we have to go to each fragrance to see their opinions. [email protected]

Hi Mara, just saw your post, I love Angel but this doesnt smell anything like it to me, it smells very similar to Ruby Lips by Dali,(dont know if youve tried that one) it sorta smells like red lollies and vanilla to me, try it i think youll like it, also my husband really likes this one, let me know how you go, bye for now Helen.

  • MARA01/29/2007

Does this smell anything like Angel? I personally can't stand the smell of Angel, and I have heard some people here comparing this to Angel. Please help!

  • GREEKGIRL06/27/2006

Hi there, why am i not surprised that we both like this gorgeous fragrance? I agree with you about this one it is addictive! could sit and sniff this one all day(so could my husband) and i also agree with you about the sprayer, isnt it annoying! bye for now im sure well talk again soon. Helen

  • FRAGRANCE JUNKIE06/15/2006

Now this is what I'm talkin' about! My perfect type of scent! Embodies all that I love in a perfume. A mysterious, sexy scent, that is immensely wearable. Great mix of essences! Love the complexity of this perfume. From the fruity-spicy opening to the soft patchouli and vanilla, whatever the notes are they are perfect together! I love this fragrance! One negative thing though, it's terribly hard for me to hold and spray the bottle. The tiny sprayer gets offset and won't depress easily. Probably because I just can't grip the wide bottle properly and ergonomically enough to get at the sprayer from the right angle. These clever bottle designs will be the death of me one day. Aargh!

  • CHRISTA06/11/2006

Hey! Thanks for the info. I ended up buying V absolu and like it. Doesn't last on my skin though. I ordered Just Cavalli and thought it was very vanilla/sweet! Still might get L'Instant...cant decide! I like Jungle too, it's such a different scent that you dont 'smell' alot on people. Talk to ya soon and will keep you posted on this page.

  • LAURINHA06/08/2006

TOO STRONG, SWEET IN A BAD WAY, LOOKS LIKE OLD LADIES POWDER. VERY SIMILAR TO ANGEL, AN AGRESSIVE FRAGRANCE THAT I DON'T LIKE. FOR ME, A GOOD VANILLA SMELL IS CD HYPNOTIC POISON.

  • BARBARA W06/07/2006

Christa, I'd say Valentino V Absolu leans more toward the vanilla side than the spicy, though it's not super sweet. It's rich and provocative, but not too much of a good thing...you could wear this all year. I haven't tried L'Instant yet, but I certainly will! Have either of you tried the Burberry scents yet? The original Burberry is a soft, peachy/woody scent that is really beautiful, and both of the Brits (the original and the Red version) might be something you'd both like, too. Here's some of my collection: Mauboussin, Stella (a REALLY lovely rose/amber perfect for summer), Kenzo Jungle, Just Me by Montana, Lovely by SJP, Opium, Obsession and Obsession Sheer (the Sheer is soooo beautiful), Hypnotic Poison, Deep Night by Ghost, Eau de Marveilles by Hermes, Miss Dior Cherie, Hanae Mori Butterfly, Galanos by James Galann, Ambre Sultan by Palais Royal Shiseido, Cinnabar, Bvlgari eau de Blanc (you really can't go wrong with anything by Bvlgari), Kenneth Cole New York...I think I've written reviews for most of the perfumes on this site if you'd like to check them out. If you have any more suggestions, I'd love to hear them! I still haven't tried Paul Smith London yet, but it's next on the list! I just love neroli as a note (L'Occitane makes a FABULOUS neroli, by the way), so I'm hoping I'll love this! Take care!

  • RHONDA04/22/2006

Hi. Thanks for the info. on Valentino V Absolu. I'm gonna have to try that one! I just ordered Angel Lily. I have not smelled it, but I like Angel Innocent, and original Angel is a bit too strong, so this one may be just right! I hope so! Take care!

  • CHRISTA04/19/2006

Hello-- Thanks so much for your suggestions! Is that Valentino V Absolu a spicy scent like Addict or more Vanilla-y? What does it compare to? Have you smelled L'Instant by Guerlain? I'm Kinda leaning towards that. My current collection contains: Angel, Angel Innocent, Wish, Mauboussin, HM Butterfly, Pure Turquoise, Pink Sugar, Addict, Pleasures and Le Baiser Du Dragon. Would LOVE more suggestions...I lean towards spicy/vanilla orientals but would be open to all.

  • *BARBARA W*04/16/2006

Hey girls, had fun reading your posts! You have the same tastes I do in perfumes...I love Hanae Mori Butterfly - one of my faves! And Valentino V has a new version called "Absolu" that is to die for! It's in a red bottle. Also...for a creamy, spicy treat...try Kenzo Jungle L'Elephant. It's outstanding for fall/winter! Take care, happy sniffing. :-)

  • RHONDA04/06/2006

HI. I think you'll really like Butterfly. Let me know what you think. Valentino V is like a soft fruity floral..it has grapefruit..I really don't smell it though... fig, some floral notes ,and a dry down of sandalwood, amber and musk. It's kind of refreshing! Not "hit you in the face" strong! Hope this helps you. By the way, I'm in Ohio.

  • CHRISTA04/05/2006

Well, I went ahead and ordered Butterfly. I read alot of posts stating that it smells like cotton Candy...I have Pink Sugar and love that and think it smells like cotton candy too! Great...hopefully I can detect the difference! Can you describe Valentino "V" more for me. Thanks for all your help. Another great scent for summer is "Pure Turquoise" and "Blue" by Ralph Lauren. Where are you at? I'm in Iowa.

  • RHONDA04/02/2006

Yes, I have butterfly and I love it! I have blue butterfly and it last a long time!!! It smells alot like cotton candy to me. I like valentino V for summer, its kind of light and smells like Herve Leger. I also like Gucci EDP II for summer. its fruity but lasts a long time. Have gotten many compliments on these two. I"m still looking for some other sweet scents for summer. I just love to try different fragrances!! Happy sniffing!

  • CHRISTA04/01/2006

Yes, it's long lasting in my opinion. This site has the gift set with the lotion and perfume so, that way you can layer your scents! I went out last night and it was smokey, the guy next to me said he smelled chocolate or something sweet? I had him sniff my arm and needless to say he liked it! I'm kinda leaning towards purchasing Hanae Mori's "Butterfly." Have you tried that yet? What summery scents do you suggest? Talk to ya later!

  • RHONDA03/30/2006

Thanks for the info.! Is Pink Sugar long lasting or does it fade quickly? I hate to buy a scent I love only to have it vanish in an hour or 2.

  • CHRISTA03/29/2006

Hi! You seem to have the same sweet/vanilla fruity, spicy taste as well. May I suggest the Auqolina line? They are famous for "Pink Sugar" and "Chocolovers." Pink Sugar smells divine, just like Cotton Candy! I have'nt had the pleasure of smelling Chocolovers yet but, I'm sure Maya has and could describe that one better for you. I've also read where Hanae Mori's "Butterfly" is a sweet/vanilla scent. Hope this helps!

  • RHONDA 03/28/2006

Hi. I enjoy reading your posts so i thought I'd ask your advice. I like warm, vanilla, sweet fruity scents. Do you think I would like this one? I love Hypnotic Poison,Jaipur Saphir, Kenzo Flower, JPG, And Gucci EDPII. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!

  • CHRISTA03/25/2006

You seem to know your fragrances VERY well so, I was wondering if this one is more fall/wintery or spring/summery? I love reading your posts! Also, could you suggest some good perfumes for spring and summer. Here is my current collection of scents: Angel, Angel Innocent, Wish, Coco M, Addict, Pink Sugar, Pure Turquoise(which is AWESOME for spring/summer) I wish this site would hurry up and carry this! Also, Mauboussin, Le Baiser Du Dragon, and Pleasures. I'm open to any suggestions. Thanks!

  • RHONDA03/23/2006

Hi. I read your posts and really enjoy them. I trust your advice...if I like creamy, vanilla, sweet, fruity spicy scents, would I like this one? I would like to try it, but will wait for your advice! Thanks!!!

  • MAYA03/23/2006

The first time I sampled this ruby-red fragrance I was intoxicated by it's sexual charms and it's powerful bewitching appeal... So deep and sexy so alluring and inviting... I knew instantly that I had found the one... the most sexiest of the ruby-red fragrances made yet... There is something that is so provocative, so intriguing and so luscious about Paul Smith London that I just cannot resist it... and neither can the men in my presence when I wear it ;) Compliments just pour out... This is the BOMB!!! It's simply electrifying!!! It's creamy and lingers for a long, long, long time... Here are the notes listed on OsMoZ.com: Top note : Lilac Leaves, Lime, Neroli, Anise Middle note : Patchouli, Jasmine, Seringa Base note : Green Woods, Vanilla, Heliotrope Frankly, I am really surprised to see such poor reviews on other sites though about this amazingly sultry fragrance... but we can't all like the same thing and that's a good thing too :)
