Tired of and bored to death with the barrage of watery, girly, pc, same-old, same-old perfumes we have been inflicted with in the past decade or so, I decided to go back to old classics (anything from 1920 to 1999) Oh, what a lovely, womanly, sexy scent this is! Strictly for the assertive, self-assured woman. It's a very rich, woody, mossy scent that smells so luxurious, it's goo enough to drink. It is definitely a winter scent, though since I like to make my own rules, instead of following others', I can see myself wearing this year round.

As a woman who, when young, experimented with strong, heady scents (hey, I was young when Opium came out) I thank you for the commendation. :) I've always liked mysterious, oriental-type scents, and I still do. I like my scents with an attitude. I have to try this one. ;)

If you are a person who researches backgrounds of fragrances, you seem to always see a little more in it than those who say, "Oh! This smells nice!" type. This is a Chypre scent, which has a womanly elegence about it to me. I still have about half of this bottle left. One thing that I have learned, as you get older your taste in fragrances changes from super-sweet candy, fruity-citrusy, musky fruit, floral, powdery, chypre and ambery. Right now you may not like the old-lady scents but believe me, you will change! Just a note from one who is now an old-lady. But some of you out there may be the type who as a young women may experiment on stronger scents, then I say good for you!

I find this fragrance simply sumptious!It exhudes an earthy yet restrained sensuality.

I finally bought the EDP version of this. I've seen it described as a refined, woody, mossy scent best for evening wear. I would definitely agree with the evening wear part, as it is quite strong. It does seem to stay very potent for a long time after application and takes much longer to "dry down" than most others I know of. When I first sprayed it on I didn't care for it. My husband said he thought it was strong but smelled nice. My six year-old daughter when smelling it the first time on me said, "Mom, you smell just like candy!" That is just the type of fragrance I like to avoid. I would agree that after it dries down it does smell woody-mossy, but it sure takes a long time to get there, and in the meantime it's just too sweet for me, and not worth the wait. I would agree with Lia's comment that it could be great with fabulous clothes and on special occasions because it does seem a very glamorous type of scent, and definitely not a hot-weather one either. But like I said in my previous post, I'd buy it on account of the gorgeous bottle, and that's what I did!

I've seen Guepard listed in some places as a 'chypre' -- my personal favorite fragrance category. If indeed it is, it's an extremely rich-sensual-'deep floral' kind of chypre. Not a casual, everyday, or office type scent but superb with fabulous clothes on special occasions. For me personally, it's an ideal winter fragrance but too heavy and rich for spring-summer. Top : French marigold, geranium, mandarin / Middle: cinnamon, coriander, chamomile, ginger, orange-blossom / Base: patchouli, amber, vanilla.

This is a cross between Jean Paul Gauthier and La Prairie. In my opinion it stinks! EDP is very strong!... and yes if you want one that lingers all day to the point of not being able to get rid of it this is it.

Like some of the other posters, I would love to know more about this fragrance, because the bottle is a work of art! To any of you who have tried it, could you give a description of the family/category/notes? From the few posts describing the scent, I think it's a floral, but I'm not sure.

What type of frangrance is this? Oriental? Woody? Flowery? Thanks.

Does anyone know whether or not they sell and lotion or body cream to go along with it?

This perfume is very soft and smells great. It is not stronge and you feel like you are in the middle of a flower garden. Very soft, not over powering and very pleasant. Enjoy
