During a romantic trip, as she was walking in an exotic garden on the island of Mauritius at night fall, Camille Goutal was taken by surprise by the scent of all the exotic and secret white flowers. She didn't resist the desire to create a perfume to immortalise this very unique moment. With Songes perfume, Annick Goutal's fragrances convey to a very special feeling of romantic sensuality. Songes is a bouquet of both primitive and very refined sensations. Inspired mostly by Gauguin who described the exotism and erotism of the island for eternity. For their new perfume, they worked around a bouquet of rare essences that are the most symbolic of feminity and sensuality: Frangipani, Absolute of Ylang-Ylang, Absolute of Jasmine and Absolute of Vanilla.
I find this perfume absolutely divine. Sophisticated and i find more suited to cooler weather. Had many compliments when wearing this
My first impression of Songes was joss stick/incense (a hint of nag champa), which may sound off-putting, but I couldn't stop sniffing it. It has a mysterious quality that draws you in. The vanilla (soft, not cloying) emerges in the drydown. Very nice.
I own many fine fragrance and have been collecting for years. Songe is a personal favorite. It's almost tropical like but very classy.
Awful scent and highly overrated! Smells exactly like a ton of cumin. So if you want to smell like a cumin dish ,wear Songes. By the way,Songes is the french word for dreams.
Not very unique but it is a pleasant Oriental, prefereably for colder seasons. A warm vanillic/ylang-ylang exotic composition.
I wanted to love Songes as I love many AG fragrances. But something in it turns rubbery smelling on my skin. Yuck. I suppose it's the particular jasmine that's used here, because I can wear other fragrances with jasmine well. On me, it's a disappointment.
