I cannot afford this fragrance worn by by very favorite actress Goldie Hawn, hence my username Goldiechick, but when I try it on in stores as a sample, my first thought is always Goldie. It has such a distinct smell, better than the French fragrances anytime. Tubereuse Indiana is sexy and beautiful and I love to use the word sensual, all to describe Goldie and Tubereuse Indiana. Once, I got a cheaper version at Bath and Body Works called Velvet Tuberose. It was stronger than Indiana and it didn't come close. Someday, for Goldie Hawn fans who don't have one-tenth her salary, an imitation of this called "Goldie" should come out, but that's my own wishful thinking.

Don't believe it. I do like Creeds very much, unlike some uber-snobs that deem them 'just for beginners' (I kid you not--well, live and let live) but they do have a point with the house of Creed's "We're so natural hype. " Consider for example, that ambergris--real non synthetic ambergris-- is, of all things, whale vomit that has 'matured' in the ocean for years before floating on land! (No, folks, I'm not making this up--look it up for yourselves Given that, most of the Creeds must be the cheapest frags in creation! Since they use only natural ingredients. Consider also how natural civet is extracted and mfg. The French equivalent of the ASPCA would be burning down Oliver's home if they did this; ditto with natural Mysore Sandalwood, etc. Still, despite the advertising hype, Creeds, " Millesime " or not, are among my all time favorites. imho, Original Vetiver smells like 'old money' yet may be worn with blue jeans. Royal English Leather reminds me of swashbucklling scenes in old Errol Flynn movies. Himalaya? It's like tap dancing in heaven .I could go on. Peace, 'all.

this is what it says on the creed website: "Millésime” is a French term that denotes a product of extra fine quality and Creed's “Millésime” fragrances contain the highest percentage of natural essences to be found in the French perfume industry. They continue to be produced, largely by hand, using time-honoured techniques in the highest tradition of classical perfumery. They are all of Eau de Parfum strength, and therefore more complex and long lasting than the Eaux de Toilette…" so what i get out of this is that they have the highest percentage of natural ingredients, and not that they're stronger. they are not parfum strength, they are eau de parfum so right there they are not more concentrated in oils than perfume, and there are many perfumes out there, so it's not that they have a higher percentage of oil. Millesime doesn't refer to the strength. it refers to a higher percentage of natural ingredients than other perfumes and are made from actual flowers instead of unnatural ingredients. that is why they are finer, and labeled Millesime you can have an edp made with unnatural ingredients, but creed's edp has a higher percentage of natural ingredients then other perfumeurs. all edp's have to have a similar amount of oils to be called edp, but creed has the highest percentage of natural ingredients. Millesime refers to a finer product on the market, and a higher percentage of natural ingredients; not a higher percentage of oils in the bottle.

Millésime is Creeds word for perfume. If you go to their website they explain it. It is the most concentrated strength, pure oils, what we call perfume.

diptyque's olene might be the the closest thing to a fresh cut bunch of spring flowers, but it doesn't smell like tuberose. diptyque's tuberose is called do son. olene smells nothing like tuberose, and neither a fresh cut bunch of spring flowers. tubereuse smells like the leis in hawaii. tubereuse indiana is a very nice scent, but i cannot detect the tubereuse in it. it must be in there but it is so faint, that it doesn't smell like tuberose to me. it's very nice and very light but if you're a tuberose lover some fragrances that smell closest to tuberose are fracas, the new private collection by estee lauder, annick goutal's gardenia passion and many others on the market, but not tubereuse indiana. many perfumes entitled gardenia are actully a tuberose scent but tubereuse indiana does not smell like tuberose to me. i buy the fresh cut flowers whenever i find them and i know what tuberose smells like.

Millesime refers to the concentration of essential oils in a fragrance (usually millesime is about 20%) which makes it quite strong and pure. In other words it's like saying it's an (edp) eau de perfume instead of an edt (eau de toilette) or the weaker edc (eau de cologne), So why not just say EDP? Beats me. Maybe Creed thought Millesime sounded cool, or more modern. Be Well, Mario.

LOVE this perfume more than any other. I have purchased many of Creed's perfumes, but I have a few questions. Do they make the indiana tuberose perfume in different countries, and how come some of the bottles are different and I think that the scents are a little varied from bottle to bottle. Can anyone tell me if there is a difference?? What does Millesme mean?? Thanks.

Why isn't this more popular? Is it that it doesn't smell like true tuberose? Is it that some label it (the kiss of death with women's perfumes) matronly? Damn but this is heady, intoxicating juice! Well, my gf is attatched to Issey Miyake, my sister to the original 70's Rive Gauche, my ex to L'Heure Bleue, and my oldest friend to Fracas-which she assures me smells great on a man as well (Er..I don't think so, except for androgynous rock stars) all superb, granted, but this gem remains unknown. No one to buy it for. (sigh) Perhaps I need more women in my life?

  • SHARON JEWEL10/13/2006

Just curious...how can Olene by Dyptique smell like tuberose if it is said to be a blend of wisteria and narcissus? i would like to see for myself, but i don't know where to find it. Tuberose doesn't smell like a fresh cut bunch of spring flowers. it smells like the leis in Hawaii. Sweet and very tropical.... similar to gardenia but different. Does anyone know where to sample it? I don't get how it smells like tuberose if it is wisteria and narcissis.

  • RITA04/05/2005

but to me it is not true tuberose scent, nor is Fracas. Michael Kors is more on the gardenia/smoky side. Indiana is nice, but more on the ambery-powdery side/dry down. Ladies, if you want a genuine tuberose, try Diptyque's "Olene." It is the closest thing to a fresh cut bunch of spring flowers.

  • MERMISS03/25/2005

This to me is more of an erotic scent than say, Shalimar. Whereas Shalimar is more of a romantic scent to me, this perfume is a siren's song. I've read that in India tuberose is called 'Queen of the Night,' or something to that effect. Just something to think about.

  • BEBE02/22/2005

  • SHARRIE02/03/2005

totaslly unique. one of a kind. rich. bold. a fragrance lover dream. i grew up in indiana, just as beautiful.wonderful.

  • M07/29/2004

I really like Tuberose scents and best of all Fracas (see my comments on Fracas). Indiana is also very good, not as powerful as Fracas, a lighter scent.

  • BETH01/26/2004

This fragrance is just gorgeous. It is creamy and redolent of tubereuse and gardenia.

  • RADPARTNER10/16/2003

this is the new 'it' fragrance. very simple and like all creed fragrances, incredibly classy with staying power. it's amazing how all creed fragrances consistently smell so good.
