| If this makes any sense, this scent is too..."perfumey" like walking through the men's section at Macys (which is equivalent to asphyxiation!). I must be allergic as I also have been sneezing since I sprayed it several hours ago. Like others have noted, I also don't smell the vetiver in it. A sibling of mine thought I smelled like Abercrombie and Fitch. Not what I was looking for- back to the store it goes! |

| This has a VERY nice smell! Traditional, mature without being dated! There is a slight initial cotton candy aroma as someone noted, but developing from that. It is a pure romantic, candle light dinner by the open fire place kinda smell. I like it!! |

| I've worn Calvin Klein Truth for a couple years and it always drew positive comments. I recently switched to Lanvin Vetyver as the scent seemed more "mature." I am overwhelmed by the unsolicited compliments on my fragrance. It's unbelieveable! I work in an office that is over 80% female and the compliments are overwhelming. An incredible scent! |

| A PALE CONTRAST TO GUERLAIN. THE ORIGINAL LANVIN WAS SUPERIOR. THERE IS AN INITIAL SMELL OF VETIVER, BUT THIS FADES TO A VERY FAINT SMELL SO SIMILAR TO MANY OTHER NONDESCRIPT COLOGNES OF TODAY. |

| I don't think anyone has answered the question posed below regarding the pronunciation of Lanvin. If someone has, please accept the apologies for this doublet.
Lanvin is pronounced "Lahn-van" where the final n is shortened and nasalized in the French way such that it's almost not there. The final "a" in the phonetic guide above is a short "a" to American ears. |
