Ice is really nice, I put it on after working in my auto shop, and I feel like I just walked out of a shower. The scent is very subtle of lemon and spices, it is more felt the smelt. There is a menthol feel to it which is nice on hot days and it makes you feel fresh for hours. I usually put a cologne one over it to smell good and feel great. I heard somewhere that they use it as refreshment handouts on airlines somewhere.

Damn! Muelhens should have come up with and EDT or even an EDP version. That would have been a winner for sure. But I wonder what the ICE version smell like. Care to comment?

There are ways to make sure you make best use of 4711. First do not store it exposed on the table or cabinet but keep it in the dark and cold. Always keep the cap closed at all times. Use only a few dashes but on cloth unless you want a quick freshening up: on the ears and neck. The best way is to sprinkle onto your handkerchief and you'll be guaranteed a freshener that lasts a whole day. Another alternative use is to deodorize wet after-dinner napkins with it. It's just simply a perfect fresh scent.

I just love 4711. It's the best fragrance by far for me. Problem is it doesn't last long. Can somebody suggest other alternatives that smell similar?

The only downside of this 4711 original cologne is that it does not last long: after less than one hour the lemony smell totally disappears. Maybe that is why it is cheap. But the smell is great and my advice is use it only as a quick refresher. Guess that's why airlines use it as cologne of choice and as the perfume for those wet towels for passengers. Napoleon would have loved to fly!
