I have been wearing monsieur de Givenchy edt since 1980 everyone still asks me what colongne I am wearing and I tell them . its a clean fresh smell and women love it

Givenchy MdG is too single facetted, rather than citrusy there is no other notes that are obvious. I tried spray two units of Md Givenchy, then one unit of Christian Lacroix Tumulte. then two units of Polo Black, gee, that smells good. the fruity mango mixed very well with the citrus openning, and the woody base of Md Givenchu was well reinforced by Tumulte. it became a very modern and mysterious scent, hope others try this too

smells like it would be used in a womans perfume. Not saying thats a bad thing, but this doesnt do it for me.

My husband has worn this the entire time we've been married. All my friends say he smells the best of all the men we know. I have to agree-this cologne smells like let's go somewhere private. ;-)

Still a classic. Get comments from everyone. Just like when I purchased my first bottle 20 years ago.

Where can I get more M de G after-shave (blue)? I only have 100ml left. I have used it since the early 1960's and have replenished my supplies at Amsterdam Airport, but no longer go there. It is simply "The Best".

I LEFT A BOTTLE HALF USED IN A ATTIC I DID NOT USE 7 YEARS. TEMPERATURES 5-40 DEGREES..AND IT WAS STILL ABSOLUTELY PERFECT.

The fragrances of the 70's and early 80's were mostly great. The chances of going wrong were minimum. Then came the late part of the 80's and 90'd and the market has become saturated with awfully strong, sweet, and ridiculous fragrances. I am glad Mr. de Givenchy has made a comeback. Classic, refined, and no need to say, it will get anyone's attention! If you like sweet, this is not one.

Ordered this by accident. Was looking for a cologne I used to get in the late 70's of the same name. This is too citrus for me but not completely repellant.

  • LUDO06/05/2003

created in 1959, this is a classy scent, i have worn this on and off since the late '70 and am so pleased to have found it again together with Armani (classic) my favourite

    Too stuffy and bitter.

  • MAJOR02/27/2003

This is a clean scent that takes one back to the days of old..when things were new and exciting..you can"t go wrong with this scent..not over bearing just a delite to wear any time..thumbs up!!

A fragrance every woman would love to smell on a man. Doesn't smell like bug spray like most do today.

  • RIC01/10/2003

Seems to me there is a void in mens fragrances where between the late 60s through the mid-late 70s they all were just RANK. This one however, unsure of the year, doesnt fall in this category (unlike its 'Gentleman' counterpart). It has a very unique clean citrus personality that somewhat resembles fragrances circa 1940 and earlier - which BTW are all great.

I wore this twenty years ago. Great fragrance and great to still find it out there after all this time. A little citrusy and very unique. A great change of pace from the stuff made today.

  • BEN GREGO01/23/2002
