OMG ddisturbing to say the least and I am pretty tolerant of most perfumes but this is just horrid

My mother in-law owns it and we both feel the same way about it and I feel that way about my Tropical which is more of a no-no these days than a pleaser, could be a seasonal thing. It's rarely really horrible but I won't be buying any EA Green Tea fragrances again. I'm still trying to find myself in the fragrance jungle. I think I'm a "mooder" more than a signature type. I haven't settled on any fragrance families yet either. I already know that I don't like scents like No5 that everyone raves about and calls a classic but I was surprised to find that I love Opium for the right occasion. I haven't discovered any daytime scents I consider keepers. Pleasures and YSL Paris are fine, just fine...and I'll accept them as gifts or buy them if I ever find myself in excess of cash but I can't pin point what it is that I find missing in those type of scents for me to think: "wow!".

I just picked a bottle of EA Spiced Green Tea Scent because I'd read such nice things about it. I was expecting it to be quite spicy, but I actually detect very little spice. To my nose it is tea - a true tea smell, like a cup or glass of tea, with orangey-citrussy notes. It's very light and refreshing, and I think I it will be a God-send during a hot, sticky summer, so I'm putting it away until then. It's strange how I don't pick up the "spice" part...maybe my nose is out of order today! :-) p.s. Yes, Spiced Tea can definitely be worn by a man or women.

This could be worn by a man quite easily. Definitely unisex.

...so of course it will smell spicy! The spices are what make this fragrance appealing to me. I prefer this over the original Green Tea, which to me smells a bit harsh and artificial.

I really liked this when I first purchased it, but now I have mixed feelings. Sometimes I enjoy it, other times it just smells strange...like a cleaning product or cheap air freshener. Ditto for the regular Green Tea. It can be nice in warm weather when I want something a little deeper than a citrusy smell, but not something too heavy. It's an OK "middle of the road" fragrance, but I don't reach for it very often. Sometimes I spritz it on before I do yoga. Bvlgari makes MUCH better tea perfumes, though. They are more refined, cleaner smelling, and last a very long time. If it's a refreshing tea scent you crave, you can't go wrong with Bvlgari.

I love Green Tea , but was looking for a warmer scent for winter. Big mistake - way too strong a smell for me. My husband now wears it as no-one has made any comments about it smelling feminine on him as yet !

  • MIKA06/19/2004

it has absolutely no staying power !!!!

  • LLL05/25/2004

This may not be for everyone, because the scent it actually does resemble tea, but it's lovely. I find it very calming.

  • AMBER07/15/2003

If you like this one, you may also enjoy Kenzo Jungle le Tigre, which also has more staying power.

This fragrance is very nice, especially in the middle and base notes, but it is not long lasting (it is in eau de parfumee concentration). Fits best for summer/warm fall.

  • PI06/30/2003

I found Green Tea to light and refreshing if a little insipid and so tried this thinking that this should be similar. BIG mistake. This one attacked my nostrils, resulting in olifactory overload. Unless you like strong cinnamon/ spice/ pepper as top notes, give this one a miss.

  • K06/22/2003

    I love this fragrance

  • WENDY04/14/2003

Spiced Green Tea is warm and calming to the senses.

It is a very calming scent.

  • BRITTNEE02/27/2003

Yes, this is the most fabulous fragrance since sliced bread, if you want to smell like a big jug of LIPTON TEA! I am a real fan of the Green Tea (you can read my positive reviews on it), but this one is just a nasty comparison. I don't like the fact that they sell the two together sometimes for promos. Ewww yuck.

  • SIDNEY01/03/2003

Worse that ANNNOYING GREEN TEA FRAGRANCE, BUT WITH THIS THEY ADDED CINNAMON.

  • BETHANY10/20/2002

Hi :) I tried it recently. It was okay, it has more lasting power than the original Green Tea. Just my opinion- The original Green Tea is nicer smelling. It is more refreshing and citrusey. Spiced Green Tea has a stronger tea smell, so I guess it really depends on your individual taste. HTH :)

  • STEPHANIE10/09/2002

What does it smell like? How is it different than the original Green Tea? I love the bottle.
